※ Bible: John 11:20-27
※ Title: He Asks you Believe?
May your grace, love, and blessings be with you in your name. I'm very thankful for you guys. And thank you. Today is the holy week called Palm Sunday or the week of trouble. And next week is Easter week. Therefore, do you believe the title of the word? I decided to ask.
That's right. Most people think about what I do for God and boast about what I have done. Then, when something goes wrong, you often see people who blame God for their disappointment and fail in their faith. It's a pity.
But when you read the Bible, God is not very interested in what we have done for God. Rather, you realize that you want to find and thank God for the grace he has given you. Because? God loved me and you unconditionally before we gave you anything, and before I did anything for God. In 1John 4:10, This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
That's what she said.
And when I read this, the Holy Spirit asked me, "Do you believe this?" Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord to believe that before you do anything to God, God has loved you and sent your son to this world. So instead of bragging about what I did, what did God do for me? What else are you doing for me? And I believe you should be more interested in what you're going to do for me.
Let's look back and ask and answer each other. What has God done for you, deacon? What are you doing now? We thought that Abraham became the ancestor of faith only by his own efforts. So I always wanted to emulate Abraham's faith.
But Abraham became the ancestor of faith because he was perfectly good at GodYou should know that it is not because you served, but because you have received the grace of God who constantly visits and gives to imperfect Abraham.
●Jacob was on his way to Haran, when he came to Beth-el and met God who spoke, he transformed himself into a man of faith.
● After receiving the word of God at Mount Horeb, Moses became the great leader of Israel with his calling and power. It's the full grace of God.
● Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and all the prophets became servants of God after receiving the word of God.
They were God's people who were constantly changed by God coming and meeting and talking. Just as God came and met them, they became people of faith, Jesus came to us today. And he died, crucified for our salvation. You ask us today if you believe this.
Have you met Jesus who came to you? We are the people of Christ who have already lived with the conviction that Jesus came to us, told us how to change and save us, and called us to spread it. But I want to ask you again. Have you met Jesus who came to you? And did you meet him?
Jesus the Word is here today. We have to serve Jesus. Jesus, who came as light, must be enshrined in me. I must serve you, but let you live as my master. And you have to check every moment. I have to be sure that you are the owner of my heart now, not before. Then God, who found Abraham and met and gave me strength, will come to me and change my life and achieve God's salvation.
I confess that as time went by while living in faith, Jesus disappeared from my life, and there were so many times when I only had my own experience. Therefore, I will listen to the voice of the Lord through today's text, which is the week of hardship and the week of palm.
● The 20th verse.
(Jn 11:20) When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed at home.
That's what she says.
According to the text, Marda hurried out to greet Jesus, and Mariah sat at home. Attitudes are important in faith. Bill Heibels said that faith is character. When Marda and Mariah heard that the Lord was coming, their attitudes were very different. That's right. Today is Palm Sunday.
Palm Sunday said that it originated from the fact that the people waved palm branches toward the LORD and greeted him shouting "Hurrah for Hosannah." Therefore I bless you in the name of the Lord, so that you may welcome him with joy like Marda.
● Verse 21-22.
(Jn 11:21) "Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died.
(Jn 11:22) But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask."
That's what she says. When I read this, it reminds me of my school days.
Teacher teaches hard and do you have any questions? I was too shy to ask you a question. Now that I think about it, I regret it. You should have asked questions. If I had, I would have become a more advanced person. I like the Lord's answer better than what Marda says right or wrong in today's speech. "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask."
To Marda who says this, the Lord answers like this.
● Verse 23.
(Jn 11:23) Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
That's what she says. The Lord does not say that Marda is right or wrong, but says, "Your brother will rise again." Yes, the word of the Lord is the gospel. How can I be the one who gave me the hardest time while I was in the ministry until I turned 70s? It's a saint who says that.
I know very well that I'm a pastor who lacks. Why? Even if I think about myself, I have never made God happy or made a movie. Nevertheless, I have a belief that God loves me and listens to all my prayers if I pray. It's because of my experience.
After I believe in Jesus, I pray even if I play Yuju. Even if we fought, we prayed. I have an experience of winning by doing something, doing something, doing something, doing something, and doing something that others think is lost. Every time, I believed that I won because God helped me.
So, my favorite hymn is 301 hymns.
1. God's great grace it is has brought us All this way in faith-ful-ness.
God's un-bound-ed love which sought us Hoe can tongue of man ex-press?
His strong hand is watch-ing o'er us Wheth-er sleep-ing or a-wake.
He makes all things pleas-ant for us In the Lord for Je-sus' sake.
2. God re-news our fail-ing pow-ers With His might from day to day,
And in mer-cy on us show-ers Grace suf-fi-cient for the way.
Though the love-less streets be drea-ry Harsh and bleak the moun-tain ways,
We shall walk and not be wea-ry Clasp His hand and sing His praise.
3. Dai-ly clos-er comes the prom-ise When a-gain we see the Lord,
Eve-ry bur-den tak-en from us, Eve-ry joy in him re-stored.
Back at home my room is wait-ing I shall walk in through that door.
Join my Fa-ther ce-le-brat-ing, And with Him live ev-er-more.
That's right. I know that I'm not good enough and I know that you're not good enough. But my thoughts are different from those of the Lord. If I were the Lord at this time, I couldn't help it. But the Lord did not. The Lord has other powers beyond my common sense. Therefore, the Lord says, "Your brother will rise again." Only the Lord can say this. At this time, NASA is a smelly invoice that has been dead for four days. So Marda responds, "Well, I'm going to do this.
● Verse 24.
(Jn 11:24) Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
That's the answer. That's Marda's common sense. That's right. The dead can only come to life at the time of the resurrection. In reality, what Marda says is right and proper judgment. Therefore, what Marda says is correct and correct.
But you and I, who believe in Jesus, must know. I believe that faith has miraculous power beyond reality. No matter how difficult it is, I believe that God can do it and the Lord can do it. Rather, it could be better. So I rather live with faith that works better.
Therefore, the Lord says,
●Verse 25-26.
(Jn 11:25) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;
(Jn 11:26) and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
That's what he said. This is faith.
That's right, the most stupid patient in the world is the patient I claim to know. They diagnose themselves, prescribe themselves, and prepare themselves. He does everything. I don't listen to anyone. I don't believe anyone. Self-judgment comes first, and you're right. And then he dies. That's right! It's scary.
But the saints are not. I believe that those who believe that the Lord's words are more right than mine and that the Lord's will is more right than mine are Christians. So the Lord is asking, "I am the reservation and the life. He who believe in me will live, even though he dies; and who ever lives and believe in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
Your wish is that we believe in your words. Children are happy when they trust their parents. When your father pays for his tuition in any way, you believe in him and tell him to study hard, but a fool doesn't believe his father. I have to do something about it. I think I can live only if I work part-time and work as a handyman. Then, I regret it later. Some of you may think that this week is a difficult week, so you should fast and do something. That's not a wrong idea. Please do so.
But there is something more important than that. You believe in the Lord. Believe in the love of the cross of the Lord, believe in the power of the Lord, and pray. The Lord loves you who are loyal. But they still love you. Because? You are the people of the Lord.
I hate my children, but I love them. By the way! Strange love is the love of parents. I love you not only because you are pretty. I love you not only because you are good. I love you with the heart of God because you are a child. Yes, it is Christians who believe in your resurrection before your cross.
So Marda confesses this.
● Verse 27.
(Jn 11:27) "Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."
I confess. I believe that the Lord is most pleased with this answer.
Yes, I believe in the suffering of the Lord. And I believe in the love of the Lord. And I believe in the resurrection of the Lord. So I live in the Lord. What happens when you live in the state? Eliza Edmunds Hewitt (1851-1920), the composer of 370 hymns, testifies.
1. The trust-ing heart to Je-sus clings, Nor an-y ill fore-bodes.
But at the cross of Cal-v'ry sings, "Praise God for lift-ed loads!"
Sing-ing I go a-long life's road, Prais-ing the Lord, prais-ing the Lord;
Sing-ing I go a-long life's road, For Je-sus has lift-ed my load.
2. The pass-ing days bring man-y cares. "Fear not," I hear Him say;
And when my fears are turned to prayers, The bur-dens slip a-way.
Sing-ing I go a-long life's road, Prais-ing the Lord, prais-ing the Lord;
Sing-ing I go a-long life's road, For Je-sus has lift-ed my load.
3. He tells me of my Fa-ther's love, And nev-er slum-b'ring eye;
My ev-er-last-ing King a-bove Will all my needs sup-ply.
Sing-ing I go a-long life's road, Prais-ing the Lord, prais-ing the Lord;
Sing-ing I go a-long life's road, For Je-sus has lift-ed my load.
4. When to the throne of grace I flee, I find the prom-ise true;
The might-y arms up-hold-ing me Will bear my bur-dens too.
Sing-ing I go a-long life's road, Prais-ing the Lord, prais-ing the Lord;
Sing-ing I go a-long life's road, For Je-sus has lift-ed my load.
Aman!
Therefore, I live in the state. So I'm happy. May you also be happy for him throughout the week, in his name. Aman!
