얼마 전, 유산을 한 커플들이 헤어질 확률이 더 높다는 연구결과가 나와서 흥미를 끌고 있는데요,

임신, 출산에 관한 표현들이 있어 정리해보려고 합니다.

1. have : 애를 가지다 & 애를 낳다 (우리말은 구분하지만, 이 표현의 경우 영어는 구분하지 않고 사용함. )

She is having a baby.(=She is going to have a baby.)

We tried for 6 years to have a baby.

I have a lady passenger who is going to have a baby.

She took three months’ maternity leave from work to have a baby.

Congratulations, I hear you’re going to have a baby.

Our secretary is leaving to have a baby next month, so we need to find a replacement by the 26^th. What do you suggest?

2. “아기를 낳다”를 deliver라는 표현으로 하기도 하는데요, 하늘이 내려준 선물(got sent)을 단순히 전달하는 역할이라 생각하는 것 같습니다.
