스스로 토마스 그레이 시의 금붕어를 훔친 고양이 정도의 자격은 구비했다고 자부합니다.

토마스 그레이 시를 찾아보니

금붕어 어항에 빠져죽은 암고양이네요.

어항에서 금붕어를 잡아먹으려다 죽었던가 봅니다.

A whisker first and then a claw,

With many an ardent wish,

She stretched in vain to reach the prize.

What cat's averse to fish?

Presumptuous maid! with looks intent

Again she stretch'd, again she bent,

Nor knew the gulf between.

The slippery verge her feet beguiled,

She tumbled headlong in.

She mewed to every watery god,

A Favorite has no friend!

From hence, ye beauties, undeceived,

Know, one false step is ne'er retrieved,

And be with caution bold.

Not all that tempts your wandering eyes

And heedless hearts is lawful prize,

Nor all that glisters gold.

정령의 호수로

비늘로 뒤덮인 갑옷의 티레의 빛깔은

그 광경으로의 진한 보라색을 통한

금색의 흐릿한 빛을 드러낸다.

불행한 정령은 궁금해하며 보았다

처음엔 수염을 그 다음은 발톱을

많은 열정적인 소망으로 

그녀는 헛되이 뻗었다. 그 상에 도달하기 위해

무엇이 여성의 마음을 금으로 경시할 수 있을까?

무엇이 고양이가 생선을 반대할까?

건방진 하녀야! 의도하며 바라보는

다시 그녀는 뻗었고, 다시 그녀는 굽혔다

하지만 그 만 사이에 있는지를 몰랐다.

(악의에 찬 신념은 따로 떼어져 있었고 웃었다)

그 미끄러운 가장자리는 그녀의 발을 끌었고,

그녀는 거꾸로 굴러 떨어졌다.

여덟 번이나 홍수로부터 벗어나려고

그녀는 모든 물의 신에게 ‘야옹’하며 울었다.

몇몇 빠른 지원은 보내진다??

돌고래는 오지 않았고, 네레이스 여신도 움직이지 않았다

잔인한 Tom도 아니고, Susan도 듣지 못했다.

아끼는 것은 친구가 없다.

여기서부터, 그대들의 아름다움들, 그릇된 생각을 깨우쳐 주는

안다, 하나의 거짓된 걸음은 절대로 수습될 수 없음을

그리고 경고에 대해 대담해진다.

너의 방랑하는 눈과 부주의한 마음들을

유혹하는 모든 것들은 합법적인 상도

반짝이는  모든 금도 아니다.
