Queen Elizabeth I believed in the 'sciences of magic'. Witches were one of the biggest concern to Elizabethan people. During the Elizabethan era, 200 women were accused of perform witch craft. Cats were a symbol of evil, and people believed they brought bad luck. Children's shoes were buried inside the wall to warn away bad spirits. Breaking a mirror was believed to bring seven years of misfortune. Elizabethans used the stars to help them predict the future. In 1563, a huge out break of the Bubnic Plague strucked Elizabethan England. Elizabethans thought sneezing was and early sign of having the plague. People said "God bless ypu!!" to stop the plague from spreading.
I want to find many Korean superstition! There is a superstition that "My birthday is a day when my ears are gone!"
