1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,
There is something that everyone has without exception.
It's fear, and there's no exception to this.
And it's really unfortunate.
No man has an alternative about this fear in his own power.
So when it comes to this, we need an absolute ruler.
Through Corona 19, we are confirming this more clearly.
It's a matter of death.
Paul suggests a way to solve this death problem.
This is what we call the gospel.
Instead, the testimony in the church is misleading about faith.
It is misleading the gospel as winning a lottery or driving a good car.
It is a misunderstanding if you think that gospel is the ability to cure cancer.
It is a misunderstanding if you think that gospel is the ability to speak foreign tongue and prophesy.
Paul calls it the gospel.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
Gospel is event that Lord died for us and resurrected three days later.
It's about getting eternal life through his works.
I give you a warning.
If someone ask you what the gospel is, then you should said that it is the Lord who died on the cross for me.
Please answer that he also resurrected from the death three days later.
But there were some members of the Corinthians Church who did not believe in this resurrection which is the decisive content of the gospel.
For this reason, Paul wrote Corinthian15 about Resurrection.
12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
1. Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
In the Bible it says the world is created by the word of God.
Then the origin of my existence was from the time God created the world.
Therefore, I had lived by the virtue of God in the first place, and only after I was 20 years old, I knew that God had the origin of my existence.
It was because I went to church for the first time and heard it.
Then, while attending the seminary, the theory of evolution was more plausible than the theory of creationism for me.
However, after decades of raising four children and pastoralizing in the church, at last it is natural to call the Father God.
The idea that God would have made me is accepted by me finally.
But Paul pointed out that you had already lived by the virtue of the gospel.
Paul did not want to happen something through preaching the gospel from that time.
Paul said, “You have been living thanks to the gospel, and I will now explain your past events.”
which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
It was that we already received it and we are holding it in our hand.
We had taken our stand already.
We were already enjoying it, but we didn't know
By the way, Paul's sermon made to acknowledge the solemn facts of the past by listening to his words.
Not long ago, Hunminjeongeum Sangju version became a problem.
The previous owner didn't know the value, so he had sold it stuck it in another book.
So the new owner hid it and demanded a lot of money from the state.
We have the gospel of great value, and we have no idea of its value.
We can give this to Satan for nothing without caution.
So Paul explained the gospel.
Gospel is something that happened to us 2,000 years ago.
So the gospel is not an event that I strive to achieve.
It is God who has achieved it.
The Lord had already done things that man cannot even conceive of.
Now the important thing is to trust in what the Lord had done.
1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
Then why did Jesus suffer himself to die on the cross?
2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
The world is in chaos because of the corona19.
A great number of people are dying.
However, our country has been dealing with this well so far.
Diagnosis played a big part in making such a stark difference.
It showed exactly what disease it's about.
The same goes for faith.
There are unexpectedly many people who believe hard but believe in vain.
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’
23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
They believed hard, so they thought salvation was guaranteed, but they believed in vain, as Paul pointed out.
They did their best, but they couldn't get the eternal life of heaven.
Salvation is the very work of getting eternal life in the kingdom of God.
If you don't believe it in vain, there will have the salvation.
We must continue to diagnose our faith through the Bible so as not to believe in vain.
Test! Test! Test!
First, there's something to be tested of.
It is whether the purpose of our faith is the salvation of the eternal life of the kingdom of God.
But many testimonies confuse the destination of this faith.
It confuse us as being rich or being successful in this world is the purpose of the gospel.
But salvation is the eternal life of the kingdom of God.
Pay particular attention to the path of salvation that the Lord suggests.
It's a true love of life.
1. Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals.
2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda[a] and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades.
3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed and they waited for the moving of the waters.
4 From time to time an angel of the Lord would come down and stir up the waters. The first one into the pool after each such disturbance would be cured of whatever disease they had.
On the occasion of the Jewish festivals, everyone else went to the temple to worship.
However, Jesus went to a place full of sick people, not people dressed in robes, to worship on the Jewish festivals.
That's where it stinks of smell of pus.
Of course, that's where Jesus treated a 38-year-old sick man.
The final purpose of our faith is to save the eternal life of God's kingdom.
But that salvation is given to life-loving people, not others, on this land.
The only way to that salvation is faith.
Paul advised that the destination of our faith is only tailored to salvation and not to go down the path of faith in vain.
But the point is that this salvation was not in the chapel at the time.
It was amazing, but next to the chapel, the place was where it stinks of the smell of pus.
The Jews were convinced in vain that their blind religious actions would save them.
But the essence of religion is compassion and love for life.
That was why the Lord had gone to the wrong place.
if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you.
On top of that, you must put down the deep roots of faith that firmly obeys Paul's message.
Not long ago, something terrible happened.
In this terrible situation because of Corona19 in full swing, countless young people gathered to pornographic establishments.
They also know that corona19 is dangerous.
But they couldn't bear their desire because they didn't think seriously in this matter.
They almost pushed this society to death.
People think that the sun that rises in the morning on the east automatically sets on the west.
But it's not a natural phenomenon.
It happens because God ordered it in the beginning.
Believers know that the realities before our eyes are inseparable from the Bible.
By God's blessing, we can have this understanding of God's providence.
The understanding is God's gift.
But of all those events, the most special thing happened by God's plan and providence.
The most important event of salvation in our human history had happened.
1st.
1st. Jesus died on the cross.
2nd.
2nd. The resurrection of Jesus.
Blessed are those who have a good understanding of these two events.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
Paul's sermons on the pulpit have important characteristics.
What he preached was consistent with what the Bible said.
The same is true of Jesus.
His words are in line with the Holy Father's.
28 So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up[a] the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.
The preach on the pulpit is to be the gospel when it is in agreement with the Bible.
The Gospel, which was delivered like that, was about two events.
1st.
1st. The gospel is the death of Jesus' cross.
John introduces Jesus in this word.
29. The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Jesus lived the life of a lamb, and the death of his cross is the death of a lamb.
Jesus' life and death are all thoroughly related to atonement for saving human lives.
Through his atonement, the door to the kingdom of God was opened to the sinners.
His death was foretold in the Bible.
6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.
7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs.
8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.
9 Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs.
10 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it.
11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.
12 “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord.
13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
He has become the food of the new Israelites and the lamb for atonement.
It was because of the death of a lamb that the Israelites were able to escape from Egypt.
2nd.
2nd. The Gospel is the event of Jesus' resurrection.
This part of the Bible surprises us.
12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
It was not long after Jesus died on the cross, and apostles were alive at that time.
Now they were receiving Paul's handwritten letter.
In that situation, it was because of the fact that the believers in the early church doubted, "Would Jesus have been resurrected?"
However, it looks the same as the early church sinner or the modern church sinner.
How hard it must have been to believe it!
Has anyone ever died and revived?
And for all those who can't avoid death, there's nothing more desperate than this!
So this resurrection can be consider to be the manipulation of plausible people by people.
At that time, Jews had this theology about resurrection.
8 (The Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, and that there are neither angels nor spirits, but the Pharisees believe all these things.)
Belief in resurrection seems to have been of great concern to the Jews who believed in God.
The Jews believed in God but could not believe the resurrection.
Satan will attack this crucial part of the faith.
Satan will not believe in eternal life.
Satan will make them believe in god who makes them rich, god who cure the cancer, and god who brings back the bankrupt company.
Satan will make people disbelieve the God of salvation.
They did this in many ways.
Satan made fake news especially so that people could not believe in resurrection.
11 While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened.
12 When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money,
13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’
14 If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”
15 So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.
The resurrected Lord was so sorry that his disciples could not believe in resurrection.
25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?”
27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
Therefore, in this situation, Peter's first sermon was proof of Jesus' resurrection.
He had specifically quoted the Old Testament's to prove the resurrection.
8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Even if people bury Jesus in the grave, the death cannot keep him there.
Jesus will experience eternal joy, resurrection.
Peter also quoted this.
God will give Christ a victory, resurrection.
Death, the enemy, will acknowledge his defeat at Jesus' feet.
The last victory that God make Jesus’s enemies a footstool for Jesus’s feet is the resurrection.
1 The Lord says to my lord:[a]
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”
Do you believe that we live and breath by the word of God?
Seeing that we're breathing now, it's clear we's alive.
On the contrary, this fact proves that God created us with words in the beginning.
Can you believe this?
Then why can't we believe that God provides us with the eternal life of his kingdom by his mighty power?
Moreover, it is true that Jesus came to this land 2,000 years ago to bear the cross!
The resurrected Lord proved the resurrection through his physical being.
Try it.
Listen with your ears.
Look with your eyes.
Touch the sides.
He confirmed the existence of resurrection to them.
5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve.
The resurrected Jesus first appeared to Peter, who betrayed him.
And he ate with his disciples.
He had proven himself to have a body.
41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish,
43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.
Jesus appeared to the group, not to the individual.
6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.
7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,
James is Jesus' brother.
They did not believe in Jesus Christ before.
21 When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”
Paul was a man who persecuted Christians.
8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.(고전15:8)
When Jesus began his public life he was tempted by Satan.
Satan asked Jesus for a miracle to make bread out of stone.
Through it, Satan asked Jesus to prove that he is Messiah.
He asked Jesus to Jump from the high temple.
Then the angels would appear to support Jesus' feet.
But Jesus didn't show off his miracle like that.
But this time, Jesus did a miracle.
The disciples came out into the desert far away while listening to Jesus.
They had been starving for three days.
32 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”
The Lord has done them miracles at the dead end.
We're in a dead end because of Corona19.
We must now acknowledge that we are incapable of coping and wait for God's true act.
The people of Israel saw the temple of God fall.
They were taken to captivity in misery.
They were unable to advance to the service of the temple, but they showed God's presence in the seven times hotter furnace.
In the fire pit there, Daniel's friends walked with an angel.
He also showed God's presence in the lion's den.
But most people settle for religious customs by doing as their ancestors had done before.
People used to get a false sense of security from that religious act.
At that time, Jesus showed the great change to people.
They believed that leaving the sick alone on the Sabbath was an act of religious observance.
Because their ancestors had done so.
However, Jesus thought deeply about that unlike their ancestors and acted differently.
4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent.
5 He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts, said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was completely restored.
Only by looking at the words and actions of Jesus did they realize how cruel their ancestors acted with religion at the forefront.
Saving lives is the church's mission.
The act of love for life should be revealed through the believers in this land.
He who reveals his love for other’s life will get the eternal life of God.
In a way, our church is worse than the synagogue of the Jews.
The Jews were not allowed to heal on the Sabbath, but we are now spreading the killer germs on Sunday.
It's about insisting on the religious act.
They say they're doing enough quarantine for worship, but that's not it.
Our faith is not about ensuring safety with disinfectant and masks.
In this situation, we must confess that we were taken prisoner by Babylon.
At that time, the temple collapsed by the enemy, and as they were prisoners in foreign lands, the formal worship disappeared.
But that doesn't mean that God wasn't there.
They made the living God visible to the people there, Babylon.
Look at the reality of God, it’s not a religious act, but seven times as hot a feud and the lion’s den.
The Sincheonji, which worship a leader of the heresy church who has several wives, has spread a great deal of disease.
Let's not be a worship to spread death, either.
We should stop being irresponsible about life.
In this situation, we must reveal the Divine Spirit and the God of Truth like Daniel rather than the religious offering of the temple.
We must try to approach the nature of faith.
The Korean church should experience Babylon.
The christian has so far done a foolish job of obtaining false rest in a massive scale of Church construction.
Or They've got a false sense of relief from a religious act.
The same was true of the early church.
At that time, the Jews saw the temple of God that had been destroyed by Roman soldiers.
And the members who received the Holy Spirit began to worship at home, not at the temple.
There were even a strangers who they regarded as profane.
They worshiped at the stranger's house whom they were so distant.
How big was the shock of the Jews?
But that was the church where God used to work as the Holy Spirit.
We're building such buildings and religious institutions on this land and settling down.
In the eyes of us in such manners, worshiping at home, not at church, can be seen as distrust.
These things have plagued Jesus.
So sometimes the work of God that Jesus did seemed contradictory to people's eyes.
Something like that took place especially when Jesus entered the temple and disturbed it.
17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
Those who love life are given the salvation of the eternal life of the kingdom of God.
But in fact, the problem was the inhumane antisocial religious behavior that Jews showed.
Your home should be a place in this history to reveal God's reality.
You have to show your love for life.
In other words, the essential meaning of faith must be revived.
That's the mission.
