내가 아는 풍광과 장소와, 기억과 정보를 동원해도, 한국만큼 소나무가 많은, 아니 소나무 천지인 시간과 공간은 없다. 나아가 있어야 할 곳에 있는 곳, 없을 수 없는 곳에 소나무가 있는 곳은 이 나라 밖에 없다. 그렇게 생각하고 결론지을 수 있는 사람도, 나를 포함한 한국인 말고는 없다.
