제1독서

<주님께서는 당신 모습으로 사람을 만드셨다.>

▥ 집회서의 말씀입니다.17,1-15

1 주님께서 사람을 흙에서 창조하시고 그를 다시 그곳으로 돌아가게 하셨다.

2 그분께서는 정해진 날수와 시간을 그들에게 주시고

땅 위에 있는 것들을 다스릴 권한을 그들에게 주셨다.

3 그분께서는 당신 자신처럼 그들에게 힘을 입히시고

당신 모습으로 그들을 만드셨다.

4 그분께서는 모든 생물 안에 그들에 대한 두려움을 심어 놓으시고

그들을 들짐승과 날짐승의 주인이 되게 하셨다.

5 그들은 주님의 다섯 가지 능력을 사용할 수 있게 되었다.

덧붙여 그분께서는 여섯 번째로 그들에게 지성을 나누어 주시고

일곱 번째로 그분의 능력들을 해석할 수 있는 이성을 주셨다.

6 그분께서는 분별력과 혀와 눈을 주시고 귀와 마음을 주시어 깨닫게 하셨다.

7 그분께서는 지식과 이해력으로 그들을 충만하게 하시고

그들에게 선과 악을 보여 주셨다.

8 그분께서는 그들의 마음에 당신에 대한 경외심을 심어 주시어

당신의 위대한 업적을 보게 하시고

그들이 당신의 놀라운 일들을 영원히 찬양하게 하셨다.

9 그분의 위대한 업적을 선포하기 위하여

10 그들은 그분의 거룩하신 이름을 찬미하리라.

11 그분께서는 그들에게 지식을 주시고

생명의 율법을 그들에게 상속 재산으로 나누어 주시어

지금 살아 있는 존재들이 죽을 몸임을 깨우쳐 주셨다.

12 그분께서는 그들과 영원한 계약을 맺으시고

당신의 판결을 그들에게 보여 주셨다.

13 그들의 눈은 그분의 위대하신 영광을 보고

그들의 귀는 그분의 영광스러운 소리를 들었다.

14 그분께서는 “온갖 불의를 조심하여라.” 하고 그들에게 말씀하시며

그들 각자에게 제 이웃에 대한 계명을 주셨다.

15 그들의 길은 언제나 그분 앞에 드러나고

그분의 눈앞에서 감추어지지 않으리라.

주님의 말씀입니다.

◎ 주님의 자애는 영원에서 영원까지 그분을 경외하는 이에게 머무르리라.

○ 아버지가 자식을 가여워하듯, 주님은 당신을 경외하는 이 가여워하시네. 우리의 됨됨이를 익히 아시고, 우리가 한낱 티끌임을 기억하시네. ◎

○ 인생이란 그 세월 풀과 같아서, 들꽃처럼 그렇게 피어나지만, 바람 한 번 스쳐도 이내 사라져, 그 있던 자리조차 알 길이 없네. ◎

<어린이와 같이 하느님의 나라를 받아들이지 않는 자는 결코 그곳에 들어가지 못한다.>

그때에 13 사람들이 어린이들을 예수님께 데리고 와서

그들을 쓰다듬어 달라고 하였다.

그러자 제자들이 사람들을 꾸짖었다.

14 예수님께서는 그것을 보시고 언짢아하시며 제자들에게 이르셨다.

“어린이들이 나에게 오는 것을 막지 말고 그냥 놓아두어라.

사실 하느님의 나라는 이 어린이들과 같은 사람들의 것이다.

15 내가 진실로 너희에게 말한다.

어린이와 같이 하느님의 나라를 받아들이지 않는 자는

결코 그곳에 들어가지 못한다.”

16 그러고 나서 어린이들을 끌어안으시고

그들에게 손을 얹어 축복해 주셨다.

주님의 말씀입니다.

주님,

이 신비로운 제사를 정성껏 거행하며 간절히 청하오니

주님의 영광을 위하여 봉헌하는 이 제물이

Reading 1

Sirach 17:1-15

God from the earth created man,

and in his own image he made him.

He makes man return to earth again,

and endows him with a strength of his own.

Limited days of life he gives him,

with power over all things else on earth.

He puts the fear of him in all flesh,

and gives him rule over beasts and birds.

He created for them counsel, and a tongue and eyes and ears,  

and an inventive heart,

and filled them with the discipline of understanding.

He created in them knowledge of the spirit;

With wisdom he fills their heart;

good and evil he shows them.

He put the fear of himself upon their hearts,

and showed them his mighty works,

That they might glory in the wonder of his deeds

and praise his holy name.

He has set before them knowledge,

a law of life as their inheritance;

An everlasting covenant he has made with them,

his justice and his judgments he has revealed to them.

His majestic glory their eyes beheld,

his glorious voice their ears heard.

He says to them, "Avoid all evil";

each of them he gives precepts about his fellow men.

Their ways are ever known to him,

they cannot be hidden from his eyes.

Over every nation he places a ruler,

but God's own portion is Israel.

All their actions are clear as the sun to him,

his eyes are ever upon their ways.

Mark 10:13-16

People were bringing children to Jesus that he might touch them,

but the disciples rebuked them.

When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them,

"Let the children come to me; do not prevent them,

for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Amen, I say to you,

whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child

will not enter it."

Then he embraced the children and blessed them,

placing his hands on them.
