In a letter to his son Eduard, Albert Einstein gave this advice:

“Life is like riding a bicycle.

To keep your balance you must keep moving.”

 The great physicist’s advice is wise and practical.

알버트 아인슈타인은 그의 아들 에두아르에게 쓴 편지에서

“인생은 자전거 타기와 같은 것이란다.

균형을 맞추기 위해선 계속해서 움직여야만 해.”라고 조언하였습니다.

이 위대한 물리학자의 조언은 지혜롭고 실용적입니다.

This wise counsel can apply to the Christian life.

Many believers by faith keep moving ahead through painful and trying circumstances.

But when they experience a personal moral failure, they lose their balance and fall.

Their regret and feeling of unworthiness of God’s forgiveness may then keep them down and they no longer move ahead in their spiritual life.

이 현명한 조언은 그리스도인의 삶에도 적용될 수 있습니다.

많은 신실한 신앙인들은 고통스럽고 어려운 상황을 신앙으로 이기면서 계속해서 전진합니다.

그러나 개인적인 도덕적 실패를 경험할 때, 그들은 균형을 잃게 되고 넘어지게 됩니다.

후회하는 마음과 하나님의 용서를 받을 가치가 없는 존재로 느껴지는 감정은

그들을 주저앉게 하고 더 이상 영적인 생활을 지속할 수 없게 합니다.

The Bible gives us many examples of

those who have experienced serious personal failure.

Abraham lied to Pharaoh about his wife, Sarah (Gen. 12:11-17). J

acob deceived his father to acquire Esau’s blessing (Gen. 27:18-29).

Moses disobeyed God by striking the rock instead of speaking to it (Num. 20:7-12).

Despite their failures, we are told:

“all these . . . obtained a good testimony through faith” (Heb. 11:39).

성경은 개인적으로 심각한 실패를 경험한 사람들의 많은 예를 보여 주고 있습니다.

아브라함은 바로에게 그의 아내인 사라에 대해서 거짓말하였습니다(창 12:11-17).

야곱은 에서의 축복을 가로채기 위해서 그의 아버지를 속였습니다(창 27:18-29).

모세는 바위를 향해서 명하는 대신 바위를 쳐서 하나님께 불순종 했습니다(민 20:7-12).

그들의 실패에도 불구하고 우리는 “이 사람들은 다 믿음으로 말미암아 증거를 받았다”(히 11:39)라고 듣습니다.

These biblical characters are lifted up as examples

because after they fell, they turned back to God and began to follow Him again.

Have you lost your spiritual balance through a sinful choice,

which is keeping you down?

Repent and follow the God of second chances once again.

이러한 성경 속 인물들은 그들이 실패한 후에 하나님께로 돌아와서 주님을 다시 따랐기 때문에,

본보기로 세워졌습니다.

당신은 죄에 빠져 당신을 짓누르는 영적 균형이 무너진 경험을 하신 적이 있습니까?

회개하십시오. 그리고 다시 한 번 기회를 주시는 하나님을 따르십시오.

Hebrews 11:32-40  

[히] 11:32	And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and the prophets,
[히] 11:33	who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,
[히] 11:34	quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.

[히] 11:35	여자들은 자기의 죽은 자들을 부활로 받아들이기도 하며 또 어떤 이들은 더 좋은 부활을 얻고자 하여 심한 고문을 받되 구차히 풀려나기를 원하지 아니하였으며
[히] 11:36	또 어떤 이들은 조롱과 채찍질뿐 아니라 결박과 옥에 갇히는 시련도 받았으며
[히] 11:37	돌로 치는 것과 톱으로 켜는 것과 시험과 칼로 죽임을 당하고 양과 염소의 가죽을 입고 유리하여 궁핍과 환난과 학대를 받았으니
[히] 11:38	(이런 사람은 세상이 감당하지 못하느니라) 그들이 광야와 산과 동굴과 토굴에 유리하였느니라
[히] 11:39	이 사람들은 다 믿음으로 말미암아 증거를 받았으나 약속된 것을 받지 못하였으니

I’ve strayed, O Lord, and turned aside, I’ve disobeyed Your voice; But now contrite of heart I turn And make Your will my choice. Our God is a God of second chances.

오 주님, 나는 주님으로부터 벗어났고 주님의 목소리를 청종하지 아니하였나이다 그러나 지금 깊이 뉘우치오니 당신의 뜻이 나의 선택이 되게 하소서 우리 하나님은 다시 기회를 주시는 하나님이다.
