The way to build a healthy body is through inhalation
The fetus receives oxygen from the mother through the umbilical cord and performs prenatal respiration. Inhalation is longer than exhalation. It usually stays in this state from infancy to adulthood. Even adults breathe deeply when they sleep. This is because the body relaxes and the mind relaxes. Then, when you wake up, your exhalation becomes longer again. As we get older, the exhalation becomes longer and the inhalation becomes shorter, leading to death.
In normal cases, when the inhalation is shortened, illness follows. First of all, relax your body with exhalation, and do not be satisfied even if your body's response improves, and lengthen your inhalation. To do so, you must let go of anything that bruises your heart or that holds you back. The order is to build the body first, then the mind. The rate of exhalation and inhalation varies according to the degree of meditation, disease, and physical condition. It is important to maintain balance until the abdomen is relaxed.
For beginners, feeling the changes in their bodies through exhalation is like turning off a sudden fire. After this period, rather bad reactions appear in the body. Accumulated foreign substances, stiff nerves, and clogged blood vessels are released through exhalation, but it is inhalation that vaporizes the body and accumulates energy. If you have temporarily cured your illness with exhalation, you must accumulate energy with inhalation.
If the body is sitting but full of defilements, the in-breath will not be long. Put down all your pride, resentment, and greed. When you hold onto your worries, your cells and muscles also hold onto your body and won't let go. Finally, put yourself on the floor too. When you let go of your mind, your body relaxes and oxygen comes in. The lungs stretch as the diaphragm relaxes and the ribs expand. Mind is also important. You cannot relax by sitting in a daze, embracing your worries and thinking only of your bodily ailments. You have to completely let go of your mind in order to properly relax.
