Section 29 : Jin - san(塵山,진산)... Dust Accumulating into a Mountain... Item 34.
Jin(塵,진) means a speck of dust.
if dust is carried by the wind and continuously piles up at the foot of a mountain
over a long period of time,
it eventually froms a mountain of its own.
That the most microscopic soil can from an immensely grand mountain is only
made possible because the wind never rests,
constantly driving the dust forward.
Sincerity(Seong) operates in theexact same manner, if it never rests,
one can ultimately build a magnificent mountain of sincerity.
[Original Ciassical Text]
■ 塵은 塵埃也니 塵埃隨風하여 積于山陽하여 年久에 乃成一山하나니
(진은 진애야니 진애수풍하여 적우산양하여 년구에 내성일산하나니)
Dust (Jin) is a fine speck of dust.
As the dust follows the wind and accumulates on the sunny side of a mountain,
over many years, it finally forms a single mountain.
■ 以至微之土로 成至大之丘者는 是風之驅埃不息也라
(이지미지토로 성지대지구자는 시풍지구애불식야라)
That the most microscopic soil can construct the grandesthill is due
to the ceaselessness of the wind driving the dust.
■ 誠亦如是하여 至不息則誠山을 可成乎리라.
( 성역여시하여 지불식즉성산을 가성호리라.)
Sincerity is just like this, if it reaches the state of being completely ceaseless,
a mountain of sincerity will surely be accomplished.
『"Jin(塵,진) refers to a minute speck of dust.
When dust iss carried along by the wind and deposits itself at the base
of a mountain over vast stretches of time,
it eventually consolidates into a great mountain of its own.
The miraculous transformation where the most microscopic particles of earth build
an overwhelmingly grand hill is entirely credit to the wind,
which never reste in its labor of driving the dust forward.
Sincerity (Seong, 誠 성) Works under this very same cosmic principle.
If your devotion remains utterly ceaseless, refusing to pause even for a single moment,
you too will steadily accumulate those tiny efforts and ultimately erect a magnificent,
unshakable mountain of Sincerity."
