“May I never boast /except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
through which the world has been crucified to me,
and I to the world.”
(Galatians 6:14 NIV)

Christians are different from other folks.  Once you are born again and
have an experience with Christ, you stop boasting about your race and
the country () you came from and the achievements () you’ve made.  In fact,
those no longer mean anything to you.
[What you actually boast in] might be incomprehensible to many, because
[what a Christian considers to be success] is so different /from what the
conventional wisdom would say is great accomplishment in life.
The
believer should say, along with the Apostle Paul, “May I never boast
except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
As Christians, we no
longer boast /about the things //that seemed important /before we came to
know the Lord.  Instead, we boast that he loves us so much /that he gave
his life for us;
we boast that, because he shed his blood for us, our
sins are forgiven.
I’m not boasting today that I’m of Polish-Ukrainian descent or that I’m
an American, or a pastor, but rather, that I belong to Jesus Christ.
How about you?

May the refrain of the hymn, “Near the Cross,” be our anthem today:
“In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever; till my raptured soul
shall find rest beyond the river."

Let’s thank him for the cross today.
	Read Galatians 6:11-18.
