Last Saturday, June 8th, Youth Group held it’s
final event of the semester! There were 15 middle and high-schoolers and five staff
present. The event was four hours long and it included games, a potluck dinner,
and time to share around a bonfire.
First, we played ice-breaker games to just feel closer as a
group. Everyone had a lot of fun. Then we hung out together eating delicious
food made by each family. After that we played a very fun game called Protect
the President. The kids would have to direct a blindfolded partner to pick up
and throw balls at other teams to get them out. Then we played a variation
which included cardboard shields.
To conclude the night we spent quality time around a fire.
We joked and we talked about our summer plans over some sticky smores. Many marshmallows
were sacrificed that night.
Our older brother, Mikito Sarna shared a testimony of a turning
point in his life. He shared about how he found himself through a two-week long
bike trip adventure a he took over the summer. He emphasized the importance of discovering
your strength through accomplishment. At the end he shared a quote by True
Father that encourages us to dream big and live an exciting life.
The evening was a great way to finish off Youth Group for
the semester. We want to thank everyone for their support over the past few
months to make this happen! Over the summer we will do occasional hangouts and
more laid back activities and then we will start fresh once the new school year
starts.
