TII's state-of-the-art In-Line?? Coaxial Surge Arrester is specifically designed for today's Broadband Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) and Fiber To The Curb (FTTC) distribution networks. It protects personnel and customer premiess equipment from lightning and poewr induced surges n coasial drop cables. Costly digital set-top boxes, expensive stereos and hom eentertainment systems, sensitive internet cable modems, personal computers, digital satellite TV systems, big screen TVs and high-end HDTV sets are shielded from these potentially damaging surges. This In-Line Coaxial Lightning Surge Protctor can also protect satellite receivers in the cable heaend. TII's coaxial surge arrester will greatly increase drop system reliability and reduce service outages by protecting against induced high voltage surges that may appear at the center conductor of a coaxial drop cable. It's unique In-Line design isimpedance matched to 75 ohms and is virtually transparent to all analog or digital bi-directional signals transmitted from DC to 1.5 GHz. |
TII's patented proprietary coaxial gas tube surge protector is equipped with an integral failshort mechanism for power short conditions. The DC breakdown voltage of the protector is low enough to protect against even the smallest transient surges, yet is compatible with network powered applications. The TII In-Line?? Coaxial Surge Protector is robust in design with a metallic housing that provides adequate EMI shielding. The housing is environmentally sealed against moisture and humidity that is normally encountered in above ground outside plant enclosures, pedestals, vaults, NID's and stand alone applications. The protector module comes equipped with standard CATV approved "F" type female coaxial connectors. |
