🧸서벌(serval, 학명: Leptailurus serval)은 서벌속(Leptailurus)의 유일한 종이다. 아프리카황금고양이 및 카라칼과 가까운 근연관계에 있다. 서벌은 중형 고양이과 동물로, 신장 59~92cm, 꼬리 길이는 상대적으로 짧은 20~45cm, 어깨높이 54~66cm이다. 체중은 암컷은 7~12kg, 수컷은 9~18kg 정도이다. 몸매가 매우 호리호리하지만 강인한 동물이다. 다리는 비교적 긴 편이고 꼬리는 비교적 짧은 편이다. 다리 길이 덕분에 어깨높이가 가장 큰고양이에 속한다. 몸에 비한 머리의 크기는 매우 작고, 귀는 타원형이다. 모피 무늬는 개체마다 다르다. 보통 황갈색 바탕에 짙은 검은 반점이 있고, 머리 꼭대기에서 목과 등으로 검은 줄 두 개 또는 네 개가 지나가면서 차츰 반점으로 바뀐다. 일부 개체는 주근깨 수준으로 작은 반점들이 있기에 한때 별개의 종으로 여겨지기도 했다. 귀 뒷면은 검은색이고 뚜렷한 흰색 작대가 있다. 흑색증이 있는 서벌도 그럭저럭 흔하다. 흑서벌은 덩치 작은 흑표범과 비슷하게 생겼다.
