Avoid from those Seven detestable things.

Friends, the number 7 is quite significant in the Holy Bible, appearing over 700 times throughout both the Old and New Testaments. In biblical numerology, 7 symbolizes completion or perfection. It is said that God created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th. day. King Solomon told us that there are 7 things that God detest or hate. Today, I am not going to explain all those things what king Solomon told but I am going to draw your attention toward other detestable Seven things.

Proverbs 6 : 16 ~ 19

There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him. Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

No doubt these 7 are detested by God but today, I am going to share other 7 detested by God.

1. The one, who do not keep Sunday holy.

Friends, I am doing this ministry about 25 years and during this ministry I noticed many people not members of our church but some other church, they made excuses not to go church or to go late. Those people go their job everyday, exact time but for the church. They become late and sometime they make lots of good excuses not to go to church. Friends, God commanded us to keep Sunday holy at any cost. If we don’t keep Sunday holy. We disobey God & stand against God.

God gave us command through Moses that we’ve to keep Sunday holy. It’s Lord’s day not our’s.

Exodus 31 : 14 ~ 15 --- Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people.

For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to

the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.

In Old Testament it’s Sabbath, in New Testament, it turned into Sunday cause Jesus resurrected on Sunday.

Luke 24 : 1 ~~~ On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the

women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.

2. The one, who dishonour parents.

God also command to His people the one who dishonour or disobey parents must be punished.

Exodus 21 : 17 ~~~~ Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.

If we want to have happy, successful and long life respect and love our parents. God

strongly commanded that if we’ll respect, love & obey our parents. We will be blessed.

Exodus 20 : 12

Honor your father & your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving u.

Friends, let’s examine ourselves and respect our elders and parents to be blessed by God.

3. The one, who say bad words about the Holy Spirit.

Friends, 3rddetestable thing near God is that, if anyone say any bad things about the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 12 : 31 ~ 32

And so I tell you, every kind of sin & slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

We belong to any denomination or sect of Christianity. Let us examine ourselves, our faith.

Let’s not say anything against the Holy Spirit and keep safe ourselves from the wrath of God.

Let’s ask God to anoint us with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ promised to anoint us with Holy Spirit.

John 14 : 16 ~ 17

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever the Spirit of truth. The world can not accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor

knows him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.

4. The one, who deny or leave Christianity.

4thly, we don’t have to do detestable thing by denying or leaving Christianity. In our lives, we suffer a lot. Everyday Devil put us in trails & pains to shake our faith. But we must be strong in our faith.

Exodus 23 : 13

Be careful to do everything I have said to you. Do not invoke

the names of other gods; do not let them be heard on your lips.

Hebrew 6 : 4 ~ 6

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance.

To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again & subjecting Him to public disgrace.

5. The one, who misuse God’s name.

5thly, we’ve to avoid to use the misuse the name of God. I am thankful that our church members do not misuse Lord’s name but in Muslims & other religions they take oath of god many times a day.

Exodus 20 : 7

You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the

Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name.

Matthew 7 : 21

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of

heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.

6. The one, who do not give offerings & tithes.

6thly We’ve to know that whenever we come before Lord to worship & praise bring offerings & Tithes.

Exodus 34 : 20 (Last Portion) No one is to appear before Me empty-handed. (2nd. Corithians 9 : 6 ~ 7)

Malachi 3 : 8 ~ 9 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob Me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes & offerings. You are under a curse your whole nation because you are robbing Me.

7. The one, who give divorce.

7thly, God do not appreciate the one who divorce. Now a days divorce is common in Christians. Jesus gave very true and clear answer to the Jews and teachers of the Law. Let’s get ride of DIVORCE.

Matthew 19 : 7 ~ 9 -- “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

Conclusion :-

Friends, let’s examine ourselves and be-aware of those seven detestable things.

1st. Peter 5 : 8 ~ Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls

around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

일곱 가지 싫어하시는 일을 피하라

성경에서 숫자 7은 매우 상징적인데 구약과 신약 성경 모두에서 700번 이상 나옵니다. 성경의 수비학에서 7은 성취나 온전함을 상징합니다. 하나님께서 세상을 6일 만에 창조하시고 일곱째 날에 쉬셨습니다.

솔로몬 왕은 하나님께서 싫어하시거나 미워하시는 7가지 일을 말했습니다. 오늘, 저는 솔로몬 왕이 말했던 것을 설명하려는 것이 아니라 다른 일곱 가지 싫어하시는 일로 여러분의 관심을 끌고자 합니다.

잠언 6 : 16 ~19

여호와께서 미워하시는 것 곧 그의 마음에 싫어하시는 것이 예닐곱 가지이니 곧 교만한 눈과 거짓된 혀와 무죄한 자의 피를 흘리는 손과 악한 계교를 꾀하는 마음과 빨리 악으로 달려가는 발과 거짓을 말하는 망령된 증인과 및 형제 사이를 이간하는 자이니라

이것은 틀림없이 하나님께서 싫어하시는 것이지만 오늘

저는 하나님께서 싫어하시는 다른 일곱 가지를 나누고자 합니다.

1. 주일을 거룩하게 지키지 않는 사람.

저는 목회사역을 25년 정도 하고 있는데 사역하는 동안 우리 교회가 아니라 다른 교회 성도 중 많은 사람들이 교회에 가지 않거나 늦게 가는 핑계를 대는 것을 알았습니다. 그러한 사람들은 매일 직장에 정확한 시간에 가지만 교회는 그렇지 않습니다. 그들은 늦고 때로는 교회에 가지 않는 수많은 적절한 핑계를 댑니다. 무슨 일이 있어도 주일을 거룩하게 지키라고 하나님께서 우리에게 명령하셨습니다.

우리는 하나님께 불순종하고 저항합니다. 하나님은 주일을 거룩하게 지켜야 한다고 모세를 통하여 우리에게 명령하셨습니다. 이는 우리의 날이 아니라 주님의 날입니다.

출애굽기 31 : 14 ~ 15

너희는 안식일을 지킬지니 이는 너희에게 거룩한 날이 됨이니라 그 날을 더럽히는 자는 모두 죽일지며 그 날에 일하는 자는 모두 그 백성 중에서 그 생명이 끊어지리라 엿새 동안은 일할 것이나 일곱째 날은 큰 안식일이니 여호와께 거룩한 것이라 안식일에 일하는 자는 누구든지 반드시 죽일지니라.

구약성경에서는 안식일인데 예수께서 일요일에 부활하셨기에 신약성경에서는 일요일로 바뀌었습니다.

누가복음 24 : 1

안식 후 첫날 새벽에 이 여자들이 준비한 향품을 가지고 무덤에 가서

2. 부모를 공경하지 않는 사람.

하나님은 또한 그분의 백성들에게 부모를 공경하지 않거나 불순종하는 사람은 벌 받을 것이라고 명령하셨습니다.

출애굽기 21 : 17

자기의 아버지나 어머니를 저주하는 자는 반드시 죽일지니라

행복하고 형통하고 장수하고자 한다면 부모님을 존중하고 사랑하십시오. 우리가 부모님을

존중하고 사랑하고 순종한다면 축복받을 것이라고 하나님께서 강력하게 말씀하셨습니다.

출애굽기 20 : 12

네 부모를 공경하라 그리하면 네 하나님 여호와가 네게 준 땅에서 네 생명이 길리라.

하나님께 축복 받으려면 우리자신을 점검하고 어른들과 부모님을 존중합시다.

3. 성령에 대해 악한 말을 하는 사람.

세 번째 하나님께서 싫어하시는 것은 성령에 대해 악한 말을 하는 사람입니다.

마태복음 12 : 31 ~ 32

그러므로 내가 너희에게 이르노니 사람에 대한 모든 죄와 모독은 사하심을 얻되 성령을 모독하는 것은 사하심을 얻지 못하겠고 또 누구든지 말로 인자를 거역하면 사하심을 얻되 누구든지 말로 성령을 거역하면 이 세상과 오는 세상에서도 사하심을 얻지 못하리라.

우리는 기독교의 특정 교단이나 종파에 속해 있습니다. 우리의 믿음을 점검합시다. 성령에 대해 악한 말을 하지 않음으로 하나님의 진노로부터 우리를 안전하게 지킵시다. 성령의 기름부음을 하나님께 구합시다. 예수 그리스도는 우리에게 성령으로 기름부을 것을 약속하셨습니다.

요한복음 14 : 16 ~ 17

내가 아버지께 구하겠으니 그가 또 다른 보혜사를 너희에게 주사 영원토록 너희와 함께 있게 하리니 그는 진리의 영이라 세상은 능히 그를 받지 못하나니 이는 그를 보지도 못하고 알지도 못함이라 그러나 너희는 그를 아나니 그는 너희와 함께 거하심이요 또 너희 속에 계시겠음이라.

4. 기독교를 부인하거나 떠나는 사람.

네 번째, 기독교를 부인하거나 떠남으로 싫어하시는 일을 하지 말아야 합니다. 우리 삶에서 우리는 수많은 고통을 겪습니다. 마귀는 우리의 믿음을 흔들려고 날마다 우리를 고통 중에 놓습니다. 하지만 믿음으로 강해져야 합니다.

출애굽기 23 : 13

내가 네게 이른 모든 일을 삼가 지키고 다른 신들의 이름은 부르지도 말며 네 입에서 들리게도 하지 말지니라.

히브리서 6 : 4 ~ 6

한 번 빛을 받고 하늘의 은사를 맛보고 성령에 참여한 바 되고 하나님의 선한 말씀과 내세의 능력을 맛보고도 타락한 자들은 다시 새롭게 하여 회개하게 할 수 없나니 이는 그들이 하나님의 아들을 다시 십자가에 못 박아 드러내 놓고 욕되게 함이라.

5. 하나님의 이름을 망령되게 부르는 사람.

다섯 번째 우리는 하나님의 이름을 명령되게 사용하는 것을 피해야 합니다. 감사하게도 우리 교회 성도들은 주님의 이름을 망령되게 부르지 않지만 이슬람교나 다른 종교에서는 하루에 여러 번 신의 맹세를 합니다.

출애굽기 20 : 7

너는 네 하나님의 이름을 망령되게 부르지 말라 여호와는

그의 이름을 망령되게 부르는 자를 죄 없다 하지 아니하리라.

마태복음 7 : 21

나더러 주여 주여 하는 자마다 다 천국에 들어갈 것이 아니요

다만 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 뜻대로 행하는 자라야 들어가리라.

6. 헌금과 십일조를 드리지 않는 사람.

여섯 번째 우리가 예배하고 찬양하기 위해 주님 앞에 올 때마다 헌금과 십일조를 가져와야 함을 알아야 합니다.

출애굽기 34 : 20 (후반) ----- 빈손으로 내 얼굴을 보지 말지니라

말라기 3 : 8 ~ 9

사람이 어찌 하나님의 것을 도둑질하겠느냐 그러나 너희는 나의 것을 도둑질하고도 말하기를 우리가 어떻게 주의 것을 도둑질하였나이까 하는도다 이는 곧 십일조와 봉헌물이라 너희 곧 온 나라가 나의 것을 도둑질하였으므로 너희가 저주를 받았느니라.

7. 이혼하는 사람.

일곱 번째 하나님은 이혼하는 사람을 좋아하지 않으십니다. 요즘에는 크리스천 사이에서도 이혼이 흔히 있는 일입니다. 예수님은 유대인들과 서기관들에게 매우 정확하고 분명하게 대답하셨습니다. 이혼을 하지 맙시다.

마태복음 19 : 7 ~ 9

여짜오되 그러면 어찌하여 모세는 이혼 증서를 주어서 버리라 명하였나이까 예수께서 이르시되 모세가 너희 마음의 완악함 때문에 아내 버림을 허락하였거니와 본래는 그렇지 아니하니라 내가 너희에게 말하노니 누구든지 음행한 이유 외에 아내를 버리고 다른 데 장가 드는 자는 간음함이니라.

결론 :-

우리자신을 점검하고 일곱가지 싫어하시는 일을 인지합시다.

베드로전서 5 : 8 ~ 근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자 같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니.
