2:21 On the eighth day, 여덟번째 날에 

when it was time to circumcise him, 그를 할례를 할 날이 되었을 때

he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he had been conceived.

그는(요셉) 그가 잉태되기 전에 천사가 그에게 주었던 이름을 예수라고 지었다.
2:22 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, 

모세의 율법을 따라 정결이 때가 되었을 때

Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord

요셉과 마리아는 하나님께 그를 보이려고 예루살렘으로 그를 데리고 갔다.

2:23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, 여호와의 율법에 기록된 것처럼 

"Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord"), 모든 첫 남자 아이는 여호와께 성별되어야만 한다.

2:24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord:

그리고 주님의 율법에 기록된 대로 제물을 바치도록

"a pair of doves or two young pigeons."비둘기 한쌍과 어린 비둘기 두마리

2:25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. 

이제 예루살렘에서 의롭고 헌신된 시므온이라고 불리우는 한 사람이 있었다.

He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

그는이스라엘의 위로를 기디라고 있었으며 성령께서 그의 위에 머물러 계셨다.

2:26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

그는 성령으로부터 주님의 그리스도를 보기 전에는 죽지 않을 것이라는 계시를 받았다.

2:27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. 성령으로 감동되어 그는 성전 마당 안으로 들어갔다.

When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required,
부모가 율법의 관습에 따라 아기 예수를 위해 의식을 치르려고 데려왔을 때,

2:28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:

시므온은 그(아기)를 그의 팔로 안고서 하나님을 찬양하며 말하기를 

2:29 "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace.

주재자이신 주님이시여, 당신이 약속하셨던 것처럼, 당신은 지금 평안 함으로 당신의 종을 놓아주십니다. 

2:30 For my eyes have seen your salvation, 나의 눈이 당신을 구원을 보았으며

2:31 which you have prepared in the sight of all people, 당신이 모든 사람들의 시야에서 예비하셨던 

2:32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."

이방인에게는 계시의 빛이요, 당신의 백성 이스라엘에게는 영광의 빛이로다."
