Bible Reading - Luke 2:33~42

2:33 The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him.

그 아이의 아버지와 어머니가 그에 대하여 말해진 것에 놀랍게 여겼다.

2:34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: 

시므온은 그들을 축복하고 그의 어머니 마리아에게 말했다.

"This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against,

이 아이는 이스라엘에서 많은 사람의 넘어짐과 일어섬을 야기할 운명이며, 비난받을 표적이 될 것이다.

2:35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed.

그리하여 많은 사람들의 마음속 생각이 드러날 것이다. 

And a sword will pierce your own soul too." 그리고 칼은 너의 영혼도 꿰뚫을 것이다.

2:36 There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. 

아셀 지파 브누엘의 딸인 여선지자 안나도 있었다.

She was very old; 그녀는 아주 늙었고

she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,

결혼한 후에 7년을 남편과 함께 살았으며 

2:37 and then was a widow until she was eighty-four.

그때부터 84세가 되기까지 과부로 살았다.

She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.

그녀는 성전을 떠나지 않고 밤낮으로 금식하고 기도하며 예배했다.

2:38 Coming up to them at that very moment, 바로 그 순간 그들(요셉의 가족)에게 다가감으로 

she gave thanks to God 그녀는 하나님께 감사를 드리고 

and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

예루살렘의 구속을 기다리고 있었던 모든 사람들에게 그 아이에 대해 말했다.

2:39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, 

요셉과 마리아가 여호와의 율법이 요구하였던 모든 것을 하였을 때,

they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.

그들은 그들 자신의 고향인 갈릴리 나사렛으로 돌아갔다.

2:40 And the child grew and became strong;  그리고 그 아이는 자라며 강하여졌고

he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

지혜로 채워졌으며 하나님의 은혜가 그의 위에 있었다.

2:41 Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.

매해 그의 부모들은 유월절 명절을 맞아 예루살렘으로 갔다.

2:42 When he was twelve years old, 그가 열두살이었을 때

they went up to the Feast, according to the custom.

그들은 관습에 따라 그 명절에 올라갔다.
