Bible Reading - Luke 3:1~10

3:1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar-- 티베리우스 황제의 통치 15년에  

when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, 본디오 빌라도가 유대의 총독이었을 때에 

Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene-- 갈릴리의 분봉왕으로 헤롯, 그의 형제 빌립은 이두레아와 드라고닛의 분봉왕으로 루사니아는 아빌레네의 분봉왕으로  

3:2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, 안나와 가야바가 대제사장으로 있는 동안

the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert.

하나님의 말씀이 광야에 있는 사가랴의 아들 요한에게 임했다.

3:3 He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 그는 죄의 용서를 위한 회개의 세례를 설교하려고 요단 주변에 있는 모든 촌락들로 갔다. 

3:4 As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet:

선지자 이사야의 말씀의 책에 기록된 것처럼 

 "A voice of one calling in the desert, 광야에서 부르는 하나의 음성,

'Prepare the way for the Lord, 주의 길을 예비하라.

make straight paths for him. 그를 위해 곧은 길을 만들어라.

3:5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. 

모든 골짜기가 채워질 것이며, 모든 산과 언덕이 낮게 될 것이다. 

The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.

굽은 길은 곧게 될 것이며 거친 길은 부드럽게 될 것이다. 

3:6 And all mankind will see God's salvation.'" 그리고 모든 인류가 하나님의 구원을 볼 것이다.

3:7 John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, 

요한은 그에게 세례를 받으러 나오고 있는 군중들에게 말했다.

"You brood of vipers! 너 독사의 자식들아.

Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

누가 다가오고 있는 진노로부터 탈출하도록 너에게 경고 했느냐?

3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 회개함으로 열매를 산출하라.

And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' 

그리고 너희 자신들에게 "우리는 우리의 선조로서 아브라함을 가졌다."고 말하기 시작하지 말라.

For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

나는 너희에게 "이 돌들에서  하나님께서 아브라함을 위해 자녀들을 올리우실 수 있다."는 것을 말한다.

3:9 The ax is already at the root of the trees, 도끼가 이미 나무들의 뿌리에 놓였고

and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."

좋은 열매를 맺지 못하는 모든 나무는 잘라져서 불 속으로 던져질 것이다.  

3:10 "What should we do then?" the crowd asked. "

그러면 우리들은 무엇을 해야만 합니까?"하고 군중들이 물었다.
