Bible Reading - Luke 3:11~20

3:11 John answered, 요한이 대답했다.

"The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same."

두벌의 외투를 가진 자는 아무 것도 없는 사람과 나누어야 하며 음식을 가진 자는 동일하게 행해야만 한다.

3:12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized. "Teacher," they asked, "what should we do?"

세관원들도 세례를 받으러 왔다. 그들이 묻기를 "선생님,  우리는 무엇을 해야 합니까?"

3:13 "Don't collect any more than you are required to," he told them.

그는 그들에게 "네가 요구받은 것 이상으로 받지 말라."고 말했다.

3:14 Then some soldiers asked him, "And what should we do?" 

그때 몇몇 병사들이 그에게 " 그리고 우리는 무엇을 해야만 합니까?"하고 물었다.

He replied, "Don't extort money and don't accuse people falsely--be content with your pay."

그가 대답했다. "돈을 갈취하지 말고 거짓되게 사람들을 고소하지 말고 너의 급료에 만족하라."

3:15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Christ.

사람들은 기대에 차서 기다리고 있었고, 모두 마음속으로 요한이 혹시 그리스도일지도 모른다고 생각했다.

3:16 John answered them all, 요한은 그들 모두에게 대답했다.

"I baptize you with water. 나는 물로 세례를 준다.

But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. 

그러나 나보다 강력한 분이 오실 것이며 나는 그의 신발의 끈을 풀 자격조차 없다.

He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

그는 너희에게 성령과 불로 세례를 주실 것이다.  

3:17 His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn,

그는 타작마당을 깨끗이 하고 곡식을 헛간에 모으기 위해 손에 키를 들고 있다.

but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

그러나 그는 꺼지지 않는 불로 그 쭉정이들을 태우실 것이다.

3:18 And with many other words John exhorted the people and preached the good news to them.

요한은 이 밖에도 많은 말로 사람들을 권면하고 그들에게 복음을 전파했다.

3:19 But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of Herodias, his brother's wife, and all the other evil things he had done, 그러나 요한이 분봉왕 헤롯의 아내 헤로디아와 그가 행하였던 모든 다른 악행 때문에 그를 꾸짖었을 때

3:20 Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.

헤롯은 이 모든 것에 더하여 요한을 감옥에 가두었다.
