(English)
We must compose our minds with the teachings of the sages and walk the righteous path.
"Jade shatters, leaving no trace upon the sheer cliff;
Beneath the dark chamber, ghostly fires burn blue;
Along the ruined path, the sorrowful rapids pour forth endlessly."
This is the poem *Ai Jiangtou* (Lament by the River) by Du Fu.
"Royal majesty is overshadowed by the scent of plum blossoms;
Beneath the dark chamber, even the ghostly fires take on the hue of spring;
Sorrow fills the ruined path, while wild geese fly into the distance."
This is a Zen poem by the monk Cho-ui. It depicts how the once-splendid royal palace has fallen into ruin with the passage of time, leaving only nature behind in a scene of desolation—an expression of the transience of time. It conveys the message that neither power nor grand mansions can withstand the relentless march of time. The green mountains bid me live without words;
The clear waters bid me live without stain.
Cast aside attachment and anger without regret;
Let life pass without greed.
This is a poem by Zen Master Naong.
Lofty pavilions and spacious mansions are, in the end, but the root of suffering;
Silken robes and fine foods inevitably lead to the sorrow of parting;
Better to sit alone beneath the eternal pine and practice Zen meditation.
This is a Zen poem by Great Master Wonhyo.
It is a "Secret Teaching Beneath the Pine" (Songha Bigyeol)—a poem that encourages one to devote a fleeting life to spiritual practice, thereby forging a karmic connection to great virtue in the life to come.
Our history has reached the present through nine cycles of transformation and renewal, and we now welcome the era of the number ten—an age of infinite destiny (*Mugeuk*). The arrival of the "Smallpox Guest" (*Sidu Sonnim*) serves as the harbinger of this new era. Smallpox was humanity's first infectious disease and claimed the highest number of lives; after a period of absence, it is now spreading again.
In this scientific era governed by the number nine, Ebola is rampant in Africa, measles in the United States, and COVID-19 is resurging in China.
Amidst this, the Republic of Korea—representing the ninth era—seeks to complete the cycle of the number ten. This lineage traces back through the eighth era (Joseon), seventh (Goryeo), sixth (Unified Silla), fifth (Three Kingdoms), fourth (Northern Buyeo and Balhae), third (Gojoseon), second (Hwanung), and first (Hwanin).
Soon, a Great Being will emerge to realize the tenth era based on the philosophy of *Hongik Ingan* (devotion to the welfare of humanity), bringing peace to the world and ushering in an age of blissful harmony.
Guided by the cosmic cycles of the *I Ching* (Book of Changes) and the Eight Trigrams, a descendant of the Silla royal line will carry on the ancestral roots and unify the world through the principle of *Jese-Ihwa* (governing the world through truth and harmony), establishing an earthly paradise—symbolized by the "Eight-Earth" (*Pal-Gon*) energy—within South Korea, the land of the "Seven-Mountain" (*Chil-Gan*) energy. The Master of Mokudang, aspiring to serve as a compass for humanity, guides everyone today by pointing the way—not to the left, but to the right.

"El jade se quiebra sin dejar rastro en el escarpado acantilado;
bajo la cámara oscura, fuegos fantasmales arden con llama azul;
"La majestad real queda eclipsada por el aroma de las flores del ciruelo;
bajo la cámara oscura, hasta los fuegos fantasmales adquieren el matiz de la primavera;
Este es un poema zen del monje Cho-ui. Describe cómo el antaño espléndido palacio real ha caído en ruinas con el paso del tiempo, dejando tras de sí solo la naturaleza en una escena de desolación: una expresión de la transitoriedad del tiempo. Transmite el mensaje de que ni el poder ni las grandes mansiones pueden resistir el avance implacable del tiempo. Las verdes montañas me invitan a vivir sin palabras;
Deja atrás el apego y la ira sin remordimientos;
Los elevados pabellones y las espaciosas mansiones son, al final, solo la raíz del sufrimiento;
las vestiduras de seda y los manjares conducen inevitablemente a la tristeza de la separación;
