20250604 부담스러운 외유에 관하여 Hectic Traveling 외유(外遊) 혹은 출장.사역을 하는 와중에 피치 못할 일들로 인해 부득이 자리를 비워야 할 때가 있다.사역의 일부로 외출을 할 때는 나름의 당위성이 있지만 개인적인 이유들도 때로는 공무 못지않게 중요한 경우도 있다.특히 그것이 가족사일 경우에는 더더욱 그렇다. 사역 현지를 떠날 때 이동과 타지생활이 주는 불편함이 있고 그로 인한 피로감도 심각하지만 무엇보다도 짐이 되는 것은 현지의 일상과 사역이 중단된다는 것이다.그래서 외유를 마치고 돌아오는 길은 역시 내가 살며 섬기는 곳으로 돌아간다는 안도감이 있게 마련이다.어쩌면 바로 그 귀가의 안도감 때문에 떠나야 하는 것일까?사역 일상의 중요성을 다시 한 번 확인하게 되기 때문에? 그나저나 집안 장례식이 거의 다 끝나가서 나름 끝났나 했는데 집안 조카들의 결혼식이 줄을 잇고 있어서 흠! 좀 그렇다.꼭 참석해야 할 좋은 일들인데.... 비행기 여행 참 부담된다.자가운전은?캘리포니아까지의 여덟 시간은 가히 이웃동네 외출 정도?이곳에서 뉴저지까지는 이천삼사백 마일 정도, 운전시간은 삼십 여 시간, 하루에 천이백 마일 이동하면 삼일 거리.편도로 일곱 번 정도 다녀봤는데 그중 한 번은 하루 열두 시간, 기타 두 시간, 도합 열네 시간씩 운전하니 셋째 날 대낮에 뉴저지에 도착하더라. 이번에는 전체 외유기간이 짧아서 자동차 이동을 포기하고 비행기를 탔는데...제한과 규제가 복잡한 짐 싸는 것도 신경 쓰이고...과연 예약된 비행이 변경 없이 잘 진행될 것인지...공항까지의 이동도 이곳처럼 외진 곳에서는 자가운전이 됐든 택시가 됐든 시간과 경비에서 부담되기도 하고...이번에는 이곳에서 피닉스까지 서너 시간 자동차로 이동해야 했고, 차를 셔틀과 공항열차로 1.5마일 떨어진 근처 주차장에 주차를 하고 돌아오는 데 한 시간 걸렸다.돌아올 때엔 오전 열한 시 비행기가 새벽 여섯 시로 변경되었고, 주차장에서 차 찾아오는 데는 30분 정도 걸린 듯. 아마도 난 이 세상에서의 여행체질은 아닌 듯.그래서 새로운 이동방식이 일반화될 천국에서의 업무출장이 자못 기대가 된다. Outing or business trips.There are times when I have to leave ministry field due to unavoidable circumstances while doing the ministry.There is a certain justification for going out as part of the ministry, but sometimes personal reasons are just as important as official duties.This is especially true when it involves family affairs. When I leave my mission site, there are inconveniences of moving and living in a other place, and the resulting fatigue is serious, but the most burdensome thing is that my daily life and ministry are interrupted.That is why, when we return from a trip we feel a sense of relief that we are returning to the place where we live and serve.Is that the reason to leave so that we realize the importance of our routine?Because it confirm‎s the importance of our daily life and ministry? By the way, the family funeral is almost over, so I thought it was over, but family nephews' weddings are lined up, so hmm! It's a bit challenging.Certainly they're good things that I absolutely have to attend... Air travel is a burden.What about driving a car(pickup truck)?Eight hours to California is like going out to the next town.From here to New Jersey, however, it's about 2,300s miles, driving time is about 30 some hours, moving 1,200 miles a day takes three days.I've been there seven times one way, and one of those trips I drove twelve hours a day, two hours for fueling and resting, so a total of fourteen hours, and I arrived in New Jersey in broad daylight on the third day. Since this trip was short, I gave up on driving and took a plane.I was also concerned about packing luggages, which had complicated restrictions and regulations.I wondered if my scheduled flight would go through without any changes.Even getting to the airport, whether by car or taxi in a remote place like this, was burdensome in terms of time and cost.This time, I had to drive from here to Phoenix for three or four hours, parked my car in a nearby parking lot 1.5 miles away by shuttle and airport train, and it took an hour to get back to the terminal.When I returned, my 11 am. flight was changed to 6 am. in the last moment, and it took me about 30 minutes to get my car back from the parking lot. Maybe I’m not a traveling person in this world.That's why I am looking forward to have my business trip in His Kingdom, where new ways of traveling will be a norm.
