At this time a week ago, I looked around 창덕궁 buildings and its Rear Garden with some foreign government officials. I was told that they would exercise crucial voting rights at an International conference, and KTO hoped they would cast their ballots in favor of Korea.

I started with some comments on Korean Pop culture.

"I guess you do know something about Korea. This country is a world leader in IT industry, car making, ship building and steel production. Also, Korean dramas and K-pop are hugely popular in so many countries.  However, growth of our industry and popularity of our pop culture, known as 'Korean Wave' are just some parts of Korea. They are not all. That`s because Korea is a country with rich history, culture and tradition of 5,000 years. Through those long years, Korean artisans and scholars have created so many enduring cultural legacies.

Now, we are in one of them, which embodies High-class culture of Korea, not just pop cluture. So, if there`s someone who still doubts the brilliant culture of Korea, this tour wil be the answer."

They smiled. Out of just courteousness or in expectation of exotic beauty?

I`m not sure, but I decided to take it as a good sign.

I wished to explain all the buildings one by one, but as usual we were running out of time.

Heading to the Jade Stream, I went like "At this point you might forget that you`re now in the very heart of downtown Seoul. Just 10 minutes`  walk from here will lead you again to the hustle-bustle of Metropolis called Seoul. But this garden is pervaded in mysterious silence. And listen. You are surrounded with singing birds and murmuring brooks. And look around more closely. What appears to be the work of nature turns out, at a closer look, to be the result of the very conscious efforts of men."

This time they smiled and nodded to me.

'Well, I`d like you to take a walk along the trail for a secret communion with 조선 kings.'

And they seemed to go for a slow and easy stroll to meet monarchs of 조선 dynasty.  

Hopefully, everything will come out all  right with them and KTO.
