What to do, in our trials?

Brothers & sisters, we already spent 3 weeks or 19 days of the year 2025. We’re in New Year 2025. We’re enjoying New year. It dose not mean that troubles and trials of year 2024 are finished. They still follow us. We have to re-new and refresh our faith and seek the way to overcome our trials in 2025.

Matthew 6 : 33

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Brothers & sisters, there’s a saying in Pakistan that trials and temptation follow us until the grave and I’m sure everyone agree with that. Friends, remember life is between B and D. What’s between B & D. Yes, no doubt brothers and sisters there is C between B and D.

B stands for Birth. ------- D stands for Death. ------- C stands for Choose. Choose Jesus to overcome.

In script. Apostle Peter faced trials. He didn’t understand what to do? He choose Jesus to be saved.

Brothers & sisters, let’s jump into scripture & see what is lesson Jesus want to teach us today.

1. Jesus prayed late night.

Friends, at first Jesus sent His disciples to the other side of the lake. Then Jesus dismissed or sent crowd

who followed Jesus for healing. Later Jesus went on the top of the mountain not to enjoy the weather or moon light but Jesus went to have fellowship or meditation or to pray and strengthen Himself.

Matthew 14 : 23

Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat & go on ahead of Him to the other side,

while He dismissed the crowd. After He had dismissed them, He went up on a

mountainside by Himself to pray. Later that night, He was there alone,

Brothers and sisters, Jesus by Himself is God and Son of God. He prayed to teach us to pray.

First Sunday of year 2025 I taught you. Pray – Meditate and keep Promise at any cost.

Luke 18 : 1

Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray & not give up.

Jesus not only teach verbally but He teach practically. He prayed & forgave & command to follow Him.

John 13 : 15 ~~~ I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

2. Threat of disciples & peace of Jesus.

When the boat of disciples was in the middle of the lake and wind was blowing opposite direction. It was hard for the disciples to stroke the pedals. Jesus came down from the mountain and walked on the water. When disciples saw someone walk on the water. Disciples were shocked & shout with fear.

Matthew 14 : 25 ~ 26

Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw

Him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

They didn’t recognize that it was Jesus or someone else. Cause they never saw Jesus walk on water before. When disciples saw someone walk on water, they were terrified and shout, it’s ghost, it’s ghost.

Here wonderful thing what we can see, Jesus never yelled or became angry but Jesus gave them peace.

Matthew 14 : 27

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

Brothers & sisters, one thing what we’ve to remember always that in our distress, in our pains, in our fear, in troubles’ trials & temptations. When we feel that there is no way. Remember Jesus is the way.

Jesus is always with us, in us. He is Immanuel (which means “God with us”).

Joshua 1 : 9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong & courageous. Do not be afraid; do not

be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

3. Peter lost his focus and very near to sank.

Friends, Apostle Peter is famous cause of his out spoken-ness. When disciples saw that Jesus is walking on the water & Jesus assured & gave them peace. All disciples were silent & trusted in Jesus. But Peter ask Jesus if it you allow me to walk on water. Without any question, Jesus said “yes, you can”.

Matthew 14 : 28 & first portion of 29

“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to You on the water.” - “Come,” He said.

Dear fiends, at first when Peter focused Jesus. He enjoyed to walk on water but as soon as Peter focused on waves of the lake and heavy wind. Peter lost his faith, Peter was going to sink in lake.

Matthew 14 : 29 ~ 30

“Come,” He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water & came toward

Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid & beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Friends, here we can see one thing very special. When Peter Focused Jesus. He walked on water but when Peter keep his focus on his surrounding. He lost his faith and going to sank or near to die.

4. Peter’s cry and Jesus’s answer.

Friends, wonderful thing what we can see in Peter’s life. When Peter was sinking in lake. Peter didn’t call any fellow disciple to help him. Even though majority of disciples were fisher men & know how to swim and save others life in storm of lake. But Peter trusted in Jesus and he called Jesus to save him.

Matthew 14 : 30

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Friends, here wonderful thing what we can see. Jesus never became angry with Peter. Jesus never said to any disciple to jump into water and save Peter from sinking but Jesus by Himself hold Peter’s hand.

Matthew 14 : 31 ~ 32

Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught Him. “You of little faith,” He said,

“why did you doubt?” - And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

Friends, at first when Peter walked on water, he focused Jesus but as soon as he focused wind and waves. Peter lost his faith & very near to sank in water but when Jesus hold Peter’s hand. Peter again walked on water proudly, focusing the wind and waves because his hand was in Jesus’s hand.

5. Disciples confession.

When other disciples saw a great miracle & saw that Jesus has authority over everything, they praised.

Matthew 14 : 33

Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

Matthew 16 : 16 ~ Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Friends, we’ve to know and make it sure that Jesus is Son of living God and He has authority over all.

Conclusion :-

Peter taught us a wonderful lesson, through his doubt. When Peter focused Jesus he walked onwaves and wind but Peter focus high waves & wind. Peter was near to sank. Peter cried out shortestprayer & Jesus hold Peter’s hand without making any delay. Cry out Jesus is hear to hold your hand too.

Luke 11 : 28 ~ He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

시험 중에 무엇을 해야 할까요?

형제자매 여러분, 2025년 중 19일 거의 3주가 이미 지났습니다. 우리는 2025년 새해에 있습니다. 새해를 누리고 있습니다. 이것은 2024년의 어려움과 시험이 끝났다는 것이 아닙니다. 그것들은 여전히 우리를 따라다닙니다. 우리의 믿음을 다시 새롭게 하고 2025년에 시험을 이길 방법을 찾아야 합니다.

마태복음 6 : 33

그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라.

형제자매 여러분, 파키스탄에는 시험과 유혹은 무덤까지 우리를 따라다닌다는 말이 있는데 모든 사람이 이에 동의할 것이라 확신합니다. 삶은 B 와　D 사이에 있음을 기억하십시오. B 와　D 사이에 무엇이 있을까요? 네, 당연히 B 와　D 사이에는 C 가 있습니다. B 는 출생 (Birth), D 는 죽음 (Death),

C 는 선택(Choose)을 나타냅니다. 이기려면 예수를 선택하십시오. 본문 말씀에서 사도 베드로는 시험에 직면했습니다. 그는 무엇을 해야 할지 몰랐습니다. 그는 살기 위해 예수를 선택했습니다. 형제자매 여러분, 본문 말씀에 뛰어들어 예수께서 오늘 우리에게 가르치고자 하시는 교훈이 무엇인지 알아봅시다.

1. 예수님은 늦은 밤에 기도하셨습니다.

먼저 예수님은 제자들을 호수 건너편으로 보내셨습니다. 그런 다음 예수님은 치유받기 위해 예수를 따르는 군중들을 보내셨습니다. 그 후로 예수님은 날씨나 달빛을 즐기기 위해서가 아니라 교제하고 묵상하고 기도하고 자신을 강하게 하기 위해 산꼭대기로 올라가셨습니다.

마태복음 14 : 22 ~ 23

예수께서 즉시 제자들을 재촉하사 자기가 무리를 보내는 동안에 배를 타고 앞서 건너편으로

가게 하시고 무리를 보내신 후에 기도하러 따로 산에 올라가시니라 저물매 거기 혼자 계시더니.

형제자매 여러분, 예수님은 자신이 하나님이시고 하나님의 아들이십니다. 그분은 우리에게 기도하는 것을 가르치기 위해 기도하셨습니다. 저는 2025년 첫 번째 주일에 가르쳐드렸습니다.

기도하고 묵상하고 무슨 일이 있어도 약속을 지키십시오.

누가복음 18 : 1 ~~~ 예수께서 그들에게 항상 기도하고 낙심하지 말아야 할 것을 비유로 말씀하여.

예수님은 말로만 가르치신 것이 아니라 행동으로 가르치셨습니다.

그분은 기도하고 용서하고 그분을 따르라고 명령하셨습니다.

요한복음 13 : 15 ~~~~ 내가 너희에게 행한 것 같이 너희도 행하게 하려 하여 본을 보였노라.

2. 제자들의 위험과 예수님의 평안.

제자들의 배가 호수 중간쯤 있었을 때 바람이 반대 방향으로 불었습니다. 제자들은 노를 젓기 힘들었습니다. 예수님이 산에서 내려오셔서 물 위로 걸어오셨습니다. 제자들이 물위로 걷는

누군가를 보았을 때 제자들은 놀라서 두려워하며 소리쳤습니다.

마태복음 14 : 25 ~ 26

밤 사경에 예수께서 바다 위로 걸어서 제자들에게 오시니 제자들이 그가

바다 위로 걸어오심 보고 놀라 유령이라 하며 무서워하여 소리 지르거늘.

제자들은 그가 예수님인지 다른 누구인지 알아채지 못했습니다. 전에 예수께서 물 위로 걷는 것을 보지 못했기 때문입니다. 제자들이 물 위로 누군가 걷는 것을 보았을 때 그들은 두려워하며 유령이라고 소리쳤습니다. 여기에서 우리가 알 수 있는 대단한 일은 예수께서 소리치거나 화내지 않으시고 그들에게 평안을 주셨습니다.

마태복음 14 : 27 ~~~~~ 예수께서 즉시 이르시되 안심하라 나니 두려워하지 말라.

형제자매 여러분, 우리의 재난, 고통, 두려움, 어려움, 시험과 유혹 중에 항상 기억해야 할 것이 있습니다. 길이 없다고 느낄 때 예수가 길임을 기억하십시오. 예수님은 언제나 우리와 함께, 우리 안에 계십니다. 그분은 임마누엘(하나님이 우리와 함께 계신다)이십니다.

여호수아 1 : 9

내가 네게 명령한 것이 아니냐 강하고 담대하라 두려워하지 말며 놀라지

말라 네가 어디로 가든지 네 하나님 여호와가 너와 함께 하느니라 하시니라.

3. 베드로는 집중하지 못하여 거의 가라앉게 되었습니다.

사도 베드로는 거침없이 말하는 것으로 유명합니다. 제자들이 예수께서 물 위로 걸어오는 것을 보았을 때 예수님은 안심시키시며 그들에게 평안을 주셨습니다. 모든 제자들은 침묵하며 예수를 믿었습니다. 하지만 베드로는 당신이라면 나를 물 위로 걷게 해달라고 요청했습니다.

예수님은 묻지 않고 그렇게 할 수 있다고 말씀하셨습니다.

마태복음 14 : 28, 29 (전반)

베드로가 대답하여 이르되 주여 만일 주님이시거든 나를 명하여 물 위로 오라 하소서 하니 오라 하시니

처음에 베드로가 예수께 집중했을 때 그는 물 위를 걸었으나 호수의 파도와

심한 바람에 집중하자마자 베드로는 믿음을 잃고 호수에 가라앉게 되었습니다.

마태복음 14 : 29 ~ 30

오라 하시니 베드로가 배에서 내려 물 위로 걸어서 예수께로 가되 바람을

보고 무서워 빠져 가는지라 소리 질러 이르되 주여 나를 구원하소서 하니.

여기에서 매우 특별한 것을 알 수 있습니다. 베드로가 예수께 집중했을 때 그는 물

위를 걸었지만 주변에 집중했을 때 그는 믿음을 잃고 빠져서 거의 죽게 되었습니다.

4. 베드로의 부르짖음과 예수님의 응답.

베드로의 삶에서 우리가 알 수 있는 대단한 일이 있습니다. 베드로가 호수에 빠졌을 때 그는 도와달라고 다른 제자를 부르지 않았습니다. 대부분의 제자들이 어부였고 수영하는 법과 폭풍 중에 다른 사람의 생명을 구하는 법을 알았음에도 불구하고 베드로는 예수를 신뢰했고 구해달라고 예수를 불렀습니다.

마태복음 14 : 30 ~~ 바람을 보고 무서워 빠져 가는지라 소리 질러 이르되 주여 나를 구원하소서 하니.

여기에서 알 수 있는 대단한 점은 예수께서 베드로에게 화를 내지 않으신 것입니다. 예수님은 다른 제자에게 물에 뛰어들어 빠져가는 베드로를 구하라고 말씀하지 않으시고 몸소 베드로의 손을 잡으셨습니다.

마태복음 14 : 31 ~ 32

예수께서 즉시 손을 내밀어 그를 붙잡으시며 이르시되 믿음이 작은

자여 왜 의심하였느냐 하시고 배에 함께 오르매 바람이 그치는지라.

처음에 베드로가 물 위로 걸을 때 그는 예수께 집중했지만 그가 바람과 파도에 집중하자마자 그는 믿음을 잃고 거의 물에 가라앉았지만 예수님이 베드로의 손을 잡았을 때 그의 손이 예수의 손에 잡혔으므로 베드로는 바람과 파도를 바라보며 다시 당당하게 물위를 걸었습니다.

5. 제자들의 고백.

다른 제자들이 대단한 기적을 보고 예수께 만물을 다스리는 권세가 있음을 보았을 때 그들은 찬양했습니다.

마태복음 14 : 33 ~~ 배에 있는 사람들이 예수께 절하며 이르되 진실로 하나님의 아들이로소이다 하더라.

마태복음 16 : 16 ~ 시몬 베드로가 대답하여 이르되 주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다.

예수님은 살아계신 하나님의 아들이고 그분께 모든 권세가 있음을 우리는 알고 확신해야 합니다.

결론 :-

베드로는 그의 의심을 통해 우리에게 훌륭한 교훈을 가르쳤습니다. 베드로가 예수께 집중했을 때 그는 파도와 바람 위로 걸었지만 높은 파도와 바람에 집중했을 때 그는 물에 거의 가라앉게 되었습니다.

베드로는 가장 짧은 기도로 부르짖었고 예수님은 지체하지 않고 베드로의 손을 잡으셨습니다.

여러분의 손도 역시 잡아달라고 예수께 부르짖으십시오.

        히브리서 3 : 1 예수를 깊이 생각하라. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 히브리서 12 : 2 예수를 바라보자.

누가복음 11 : 28 ~ 예수께서 이르시되 오히려 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 지키는 자가 복이 있느니라 하시니라.
