Don’t help God, have the help of God.

Dear brothers & sister, anybody remember the title of last Sunday’s message? Last Sunday we learned I can, you, can, we can do it. Brothers & sister remain in the Lord & all things will be possible for us.

John 15 : 7

If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Philippians 4 : 13 ~~~~ I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.

Friends, I can, you can, we can do all impossible things through or with or in Jesus. Let’s come back to the today’s message. There are many people who teach God or help God to lead our life. It happen many times in our lives that God do opposite things than our expectations. We start to complain and grumble. God, why or how you can do this to me? We try to teach or help God.

1. Sarah (Sarai) tried to help God.

Brothers & sisters we all know about Abraham and his wife Sarah. Abraham left his home town cause God promise to bless him and his wife in all parts of their lives and we can see, God blessed them.

Genesis 17 : 15 ~ 16

God also said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name

will be Sarah. I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so

that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

But as the time pass, Sarah (Sarai) thought maybe God forget His promise or He is unable

to give offspring or maybe God changed His mind. Devil put lots of wrong thoughts in her mind.

Genesis 16 : 1 ~ 2

Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian slave named Hagar

so she said to Abram, “The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep

with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.

Brothers remember Sarah’s (Sarai) wrong decision made a big trouble of this age Christians.

Later Hagar gave a birth to Ishmael. The descendants of Ishmael are the Muslims of this Era.

Genesis 16 : 11 ~ 12

The angel of the Lord also said to her: “You are now pregnant & you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone & everyone’s hand against him & he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.

Matthew 19 : 26

Jesus looked at them & said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

2. Rebekah tried to help God.

Secondly, we can see the mother of Jacob (Israel) tried to help God. Rebekah was having twins & during her pregnancy babies pull and pushed in the womb. Rebekah didn’t understand what to do? She inquire God & God told her very clearly. That there are two nations in her womb (Two sons Esau and Jacob) and Elder will serve the younger but soon she forget the God’s promise.

Genesis 25 : 22 ~ 23

The babies jostled each other within her & she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord. The Lord said to her, “Two nations are in your womb & two people from within you will be separated one people will be stronger than the other, & the older will serve the younger.”

Rebekah heard that Isaac said to Esau to go out & hunt something. After eating Esau’s animal,

father Isaac suppose to bless Esau. In that Era elder son suppose to have all blessings.

Genesis 27 : 7 (Father Isaac said to son elder Esau)

Bring me some game and prepare me some tasty food to eat, so that

I may give you my blessing in the presence of the Lord before I die.’

Here we can see mother Rebekah made mistake. Rebekah thought, maybe God forget His promise or God changed His mind about Jacob’s blessing. She tried to help God, which was totally wrong.

Brothers and sister, once Gods make promise. Later or sooner God keep His promise. Amen

Rebekah cooked food & Jacob gave to Isaac. Jacob cheated his father & took blessings of his brother.

In result Jacob invite the wrath of his brother Esau. Jacob ran to his uncle Laban’s house & spent 20 years there. Jacob never saw his father and mother’s face. He was afraid to come back. Finally, Jacob wrestled whole night with God & God gave him new name Israel & God made Esau’s heart soft for him.

Genesis 32 : 27 ~ 28

The man asked him, “What is your name?” “Jacob,” he answered. Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God & with humans & have overcome.”

2nd. Corinthians 1:20

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.

And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

3. King Saul tried to please God by disobeying.

3rdly, I want to share with you the mistake of king Saul what he made to make happy God. God commanded king Saul to destroy everything what was belong to Amalekites, their children, men, women & every kind of the animals cause Amalekites made troubles for Israelites on the way to promise land.

1st. Samuel 15 : 3

Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare

them; put to death men & women, children & infants, cattle & sheep, camels & donkeys.

When, prophet Samuel visited king Saul & inquire about the voice of animals. Saul made excuses.

1st. Samuel 15 : 14

But Samuel said, “What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?”

Saul made God unhappy by doing his own will not God’s will. We’ve to fulfill God’s in all circumstances.

1st. Samuel 15 : 19

Why did you not obey the Lord? Why did you pounce on the plunder & do evil in the eyes of the Lord?”

We’ve to fulfill God’s will 100%. Don’t add or deduct anything. Jesus fulfill Father’s will in Gethsemane garden.

Matthew 26 : 36 (Last portion)

“My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from Me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”

Conclusion :-

Dear friends, we people make promise and break promise but our Creator never break His promise. God has a wonderful and tons of promises for us. Keep faith in the Lord and seek your blessings.

Jeremiah 29 : 11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to

prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Friends, sometime it looks that God left us or He’s not interested in us. Always remember He’s with us

Joshua 1 : 5 (Matthew 1 : 27 Immanuel)

No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was

with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joshua 1 : 8

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you

may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous & successful.

하나님을 돕지 말고 하나님의 도움을 받으라

형제자매 여러분, 누군가 지난 주일의 설교 제목을 기억하십니까? 지난 주일에 ‘나도 당신도 우리는

할 수 있습니다’에 대해 배웠습니다. 형제자매 여러분, 주님 안에 거하면 모든 일이 가능해집니다.

요한복음 15 : 7

너희가 내 안에 거하고 내 말이 너희 안에 거하면 무엇이든지 원하는 대로 구하라 그리하면 이루리라.

빌립보서 4 : 13 ~~~~ 내게 능력주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라.

나도 할 수 있고 여러분도 할 수 있고 우리는 예수를 통하여 또는 예수와 함께 모든 불가능한 일을

할 수 있습니다. 오늘의 설교로 돌아갑시다. 우리 삶을 이끄시도록 하나님을 가르치거나

하나님을 돕는 사람들이 많이 있습니다. 하나님께서 우리 기대와 반대의 일을 하실 때가

우리 삶에 여러 번 일어납니다. 우리는 불평하고 투덜대기 시작합니다. 하나님, 왜

어떻게 저에게 이럴 수 있습니까? 우리는 하나님을 가르치거나 도우려 합니다.

1. 사라(사래)는 하나님을 도우려 했습니다.

형제자매 여러분, 우리 모두 아브라함과 그의 아내 사라에 대해 잘 압니다. 하나님께서 삶의

모든 면에서 아브라함과 그의 아내를 축복하신다고 약속하셨기 때문에 그는 고향을

떠났고 하나님께서 그들을 축복하셨음을 우리는 알 수 있습니다.

창세기 17 : 15 ~ 16 ----- 하나님이 또 아브라함에게 이르시되 네 아내 사래는 이름을 사래라 하지 말고 사라라 하라 내가 그에게 복을 주어 그가 네게 아들을 낳아 주게 하며 내가 그에게 복을 주어 그를 여러 민족의 어머니가 되게 하리니 민족의 여러 왕이 그에게서 나리라.

하지만 시간이 지나면서 사라(사래)는 혹시 하나님이 약속을 잊으셨거나 자손을 주실 수 없거나 아마도

하나님이 마음을 바꾸셨을 거라고 생각했습니다. 마귀는 그녀의 마음에 수많은 잘못된 생각을 심었습니다.

창세기 16 : 1 ~ 2

아브람의 아내 사래는 출산하지 못하였고 그에게 한 여종이 있으니 애굽 사람이요 이름은 하갈이라 사래가 아브람에게 이르되 여호와께서 내 출산을 허락하지 아니하셨으니 원하건대 내 여종에게 들어가라 내가 혹 그로 말미암아 자녀를 얻을까 하노라 하매 아브람이 사래의 말을 들으니라.

형제자매 여러분, 사라(사래)의 잘못된 결정이 이 시대 크리스천에게 큰 혼란을 만들었습니다.

이후에 하갈이 이스마엘을 낳았습니다. 이스마엘의 후손이 이 시대의 무슬림입니다.

창세기 16 : 11 ~ 12

여호와의 사자가 또 그에게 이르되 네가 임신하였은즉 아들을 낳으리니 그 이름을 이스마엘이라 하라 이는 여호와께서 네 고통을 들으셨음이니라 그가 사람 중에 들나귀 같이 되리니 그의 손이 모든 사람을 치겠고 모든 사람의 손이 그를 칠지며 그가 모든 형제와 대항해서 살리라 하니라.

마태복음 19 : 26

예수께서 그들을 보시며 이르시되 사람으로는 할 수 없으나 하나님으로서는 다 하실 수 있느니라.

2. 리브가는 하나님을 도우려 했습니다.

두 번째, 야곱(이스라엘)의 어머니가 하나님을 도우려 한 것을 알 수 있습니다. 리브가는 쌍둥이를 가졌는데 임신한 동안에 아기들은 배 속에서 밀고 당겼습니다. 리브가는 어떻게 해야 할지 몰랐습니다. 그녀는 하나님께 간청했고 하나님은 두 민족이 그녀의 배 속에 있는데 (두 아들 에서와 야곱) 형이 동생을 섬길 것이라고 그녀에게 매우 분명하게 말씀하셨지만 그녀는 하나님의 약속을 잊었습니다.

창세기 25 : 22 ~ 23

그 아들들이 그의 태 속에서 서로 싸우는지라 그가 이르되 이럴 경우에는 내가 어찌 할꼬 하고 가서 여호와께 묻자온대 여호와께서 그에게 이르시되 두 국민이 네 태중에 있구나 두 민족이 네 복중에서부터 나누이리라 이 족속이 저 족속보다 강하겠고 큰 자가 어린 자를 섬기리라 하셨더라

이삭이 에서에게 밖에 나가 사냥을 해서 에서의 짐승을 먹은 후에 아버지 이삭이 에서를

축복할 것이라고 말하는 것을 리브가가 들었습니다. 그 시대에는 형이 모든 축복을 받게 됩니다.

창세기 27 : 7 (아버지 이삭이 형 에서에게 말했습니다)

나를 위하여 사냥하여 가져다가 별미를 만들어 내가 먹게

하여 죽기 전에 여호와 앞에서 네게 축복하게 하라 하셨으니.

어머니 리브가가 잘못한 것을 여기에서 알 수 있습니다. 리브가는 하나님께서 약속을 잊으셨거나 야곱의 축복에 대해 마음을 바꾸신 것이라고 생각했습니다. 그녀는 하나님을 도우려 했는데 그것은 완전히 잘못된 것이었습니다. 형제자매 여러분, 하나님은 한번 약속하시면 조만간 그분의 약속을 지키십니다. 아멘.

리브가는 음식을 요리했고 야곱은 이삭에게 주었습니다. 야곱은 아버지를 속여서 형의 축복을 취했습니다. 그 결과 야곱은 형 에서의 분노를 불렀습니다. 야곱은 외삼촌 라반의 집으로 달아났고 그곳에서 20년을 지냈습니다. 야곱은 아버지와 어머니의 얼굴을 보지 못했습니다. 그는 돌아오기 두려웠습니다. 결국 야곱은 밤새도록 하나님과 씨름했습니다. 하나님은 새로운 이름 이스라엘을 그에게 주셨고 에서의 마음을 부드럽게 하셨습니다.

창세기 32 : 27 ~ 28

그 사람이 그에게 이르되 네 이름이 무엇이냐 그가 이르되 야곱이니이다 그가 이르되 네 이름을 다시는 야곱이라 부를 것이 아니요 이스라엘이라 부를 것이니 이는 네가 하나님과 및 사람들과 겨루어 이겼음이니라.

고린도후서 1 : 20 ----- 하나님의 약속은 얼마든지 그리스도 안에서 예가 되니 그런즉

그로 말미암아 우리가 아멘 하여 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 되느니라.

3. 사울 왕은 불순종함으로 하나님을 기쁘시게 하려고 했습니다.

세 번째, 하나님을 기쁘시게 하려던 사울 왕의 잘못을 여러분과 나누고자 합니다. 하나님은 사울 왕에게 아말렉에 속한 모든 것 즉 자녀, 남자, 여자 그리고 모든 짐승을 진멸하라고 명령하셨습니다. 아말렉이 약속의 땅으로 가는 도중에 이스라엘에게 어려움을 겪게 했기 때문입니다.

사무엘상 15 : 3 ----- 지금 가서 아말렉을 쳐서 그들의 모든 소유를 남기지 말고 진멸하되

남녀와 소아와 젖 먹는 아이와 우양과 낙타와 나귀를 죽이라 하셨나이다 하니.

선지자 사무엘이 사울 왕을 찾아가서 짐승의 소리에 대해 물었을 때 사울은 핑계를 댔습니다.

사무엘상 15 : 14

사무엘이 이르되 그러면 내 귀에 들려오는 이 양의 소리와 내게 들리는 소의 소리는 어찌 됨이니이까 하니라

사울 왕은 하나님의 뜻이 아닌 자신의 뜻을 행함으로써 하나님을 슬프시게 했습니다.

우리는 모든 상황에서 하나님의 뜻을 행해야 합니다.

사무엘상 15 : 19 ----- 어찌하여 왕이 여호와의 목소리를 청종하지 아니하고

탈취하기에만 급하여 여호와께서 악하게 여기시는 일을 행하였나이까.

우리는 하나님의 뜻을 100% 행해야 합니다. 더하거나 빼지 마십시오.

예수님은 겟세마네 동산에서 아버지의 뜻을 행하셨습니다.

마태복음 26 : 39 (후반) ----- 내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서

그러나 나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고

결론 :-

사람들은 약속을 하고 약속을 어기지만 우리 창조주는 그분의 약속을 절대 어기지 않으십니다. 하나님은 우리를 위해 놀라운 수많은 약속을 하십니다.

주님께 믿음을 지키고 축복을 구하십시오.

예레미야 29 : 11 ----- 여호와의 말씀이니라 너희를 향한 나의 생각을 내가 아나니

평안이요 재앙이 아니니라 너희에게 미래와 희망을 주는 것이니라

때때로 하나님이 우리를 떠나시거나 우리에게 관심이 없으신 것처럼 보일

때가 있습니다. 그분은 우리와 함께 하심을 언제나 기억하십시오.

여호수아 1 : 5 (마태복음 1:27 임마누엘)

네 평생에 너를 능히 대적할 자가 없으리니 내가 모세와 함께 있었던 것 같이

너와 함께 이씅ㄹ 것임이니라 내가 너를 떠나지 아니하며 버리지 아니하리니

여호수아 1 : 8 ----- 이 율법책을 네 입에서 떠나지 말게 하며 주야로 그것을 묵상하여 그 안에 기록된

대로 다 지켜 행하라 그리하면 네 길이 평탄하게 될 것이며 네가 형통하리라
