1  Nach Ạhabs Tod lehnte sich Mọab+ gegen Israel auf.
2  Damals fiel Ahạsja durch das Gitter im Dachzimmer seines Hauses in Samạria und verletzte sich. Da schickte er Boten mit dem Auftrag los: „Geht, befragt Baal-Sebụb, den Gott von Ẹkron,+ ob ich mich von dieser Verletzung wieder erholen werde.“+ 
3  Der Engel Jehovas sagte jedoch zu Elịa*+ aus Tischbẹ: „Mach dich auf, geh den Boten des Königs von Samạria entgegen und sag zu ihnen: ‚Gibt es denn keinen Gott in Israel, dass ihr Baal-Sebụb, den Gott von Ẹkron, befragen müsst?+ 
4  Deshalb sagt Jehova: „Du wirst das Bett, auf dem du liegst, nicht mehr verlassen, denn du wirst ganz bestimmt sterben.“‘“ Darauf machte sich Elịa auf den Weg.


1  After the death of Aʹhab, Moʹab+ revolted against Israel.
2  It was then that A·ha·ziʹah fell down through the grating in his roof chamber in Sa·marʹi·a and was injured. So he sent messengers and said to them: “Go, inquire of Baʹal-zeʹbub the god of Ekʹron+ to find out whether I will recover from this injury.”+ 
3  But the angel of Jehovah said to E·liʹjah*+ the Tishʹbite: “Rise up, go to meet the messengers of the king of Sa·marʹi·a and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baʹal-zeʹbub the god of Ekʹron?+ 
4  Therefore this is what Jehovah says: “You will not leave the bed on which you are lying, for you will certainly die.”’” With that E·liʹjah went off.

2  아하시야가 사마리아에 있는 자기 옥상방의 격자창에서 떨어져 부상을 당했다. 그래서 그는 사자들을 보내며 말했다. “에그론의+ 신 바알세붑에게 가서 내가 이 부상에서 회복될 수 있는지 물어보시오.”+ 
3  그런데 여호와의 천사가 디셉 사람 엘리야*에게+ 말했다. “일어나 가서 사마리아 왕의 사자들을 만나 이렇게 말하십시오. ‘이스라엘에 하느님이 없어서 에그론의 신 바알세붑에게 물으러 가는 거요?+ 
4  여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨소. “너는 네가 누워 있는 침대에서 일어나지 못하고 반드시 죽을 것이다.”’” 그 말을 듣고 엘리야가 길을 나섰다.
