Good afternoon GCC family. 

I hope you are all doing well. The Old Testament reading for our worship service Sunday is 1 Kings 11:1-13

and our New Testament reading is Colossians 2:13.  The text for my sermon will be Job 3:1-26

and the title of my sermon is "Job's Lament to His Suffering."

열왕기상 11장1~13

 1 Kings 11:1-13

1. 솔로몬 왕이 바로의 딸 외에 이방의 많은 여인을 사랑하였으니 곧 모압과 암몬과 에돔과 시돈과 헷 여인이라

King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaohʼs daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites.

2. 여호와께서 일찍이 이 여러 백성에 대하여 이스라엘 자손에게 말씀하시기를 너희는 그들과 서로 통혼하지 말며 그들도 너희와 서로 통혼하게 하지 말라 그들이 반드시 너희의 마음을 돌려 그들의 신들을 따르게 하리라 하셨으나 솔로몬이 그들을 사랑하였더라

They were from nations about which the LORD had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.

3. 왕은 후궁이 칠백 명이요 첩이 삼백 명이라 그의 여인들이 왕의 마음을 돌아서게 하였더라

He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray.

4. 솔로몬의 나이가 많을 때에 그의 여인들이 그의 마음을 돌려 다른 신들을 따르게 하였으므로 왕의 마음이 그의 아버지 다윗의 마음과 같지 아니하여 그의 하나님 여호와 앞에 온전하지 못하였으니

As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

5. 이는 시돈 사람의 여신 아스다롯을 따르고 암몬 사람의 가증한 밀곰을 따름이라

He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites.

6. 솔로몬이 여호와의 눈앞에서 악을 행하여 그의 아버지 다윗이 여호와를 온전히 따름 같이 따르지 아니하고

So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the LORD; he did not follow the LORD completely, as David his father had done.

7. 모압의 가증한 그모스를 위하여 예루살렘 앞 산에 산당을 지었고 또 암몬 자손의 가증한 몰록을 위하여 그와 같이 하였으며

On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites.

8. 그가 또 그의 이방 여인들을 위하여 다 그와 같이 한지라 그들이 자기의 신들에게 분향하며 제사하였더라

He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.

9. ○솔로몬이 마음을 돌려 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 떠나므로 여호와께서 그에게 진노하시니라 여호와께서 일찍이 두 번이나 그에게 나타나시고

The LORD became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.

10. 이 일에 대하여 명령하사 다른 신을 따르지 말라 하셨으나 그가 여호와의 명령을 지키지 않았으므로

Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the LORDʼs command.

11. 여호와께서 솔로몬에게 말씀하시되 네게 이러한 일이 있었고 또 네가 내 언약과 내가 네게 명령한 법도를 지키지 아니하였으니 내가 반드시 이 나라를 네게서 빼앗아 네 신하에게 주리라

So the LORD said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates

12. 그러나 네 아버지 다윗을 위하여 네 세대에는 이 일을 행하지 아니하고 네 아들의 손에서 빼앗으려니와

Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son.

13. 오직 내가 이 나라를 다 빼앗지 아니하고 내 종 다윗과 내가 택한 예루살렘을 위하여 한 지파를 네 아들에게 주리라 하셨더라

Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”

골로새서 2장13절

Colossians 2:13

13. 또 범죄와 육체의 무할례로 죽었던 너희를 하나님이 그와 함께 살리시고 우리의 모든 죄를 사하시고

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

Job 3:1-26

1. 그 후에 욥이 입을 열어 자기의 생일을 저주하니라

After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.

2. 욥이 입을 열어 이르되

He said:

3. 내가 난 날이 멸망하였더라면, 사내 아이를 배었다 하던 그 밤도 그러하였더라면,

“May the day of my birth perish,

and the night that said, ‘A boy is conceived!’

4. 그 날이 캄캄하였더라면, 하나님이 위에서 돌아보지 않으셨더라면, 빛도 그 날을 비추지 않았더라면,

That day—may it turn to darkness;

may God above not care about it;

may no light shine on it.

5. 어둠과 죽음의 그늘이 그 날을 자기의 것이라 주장하였더라면, 구름이 그 위에 덮였더라면, 흑암이 그 날을 덮었더라면,

May gloom and utter darkness claim it once more;

may a cloud settle over it;

may blackness overwhelm it.

6. 그 밤이 캄캄한 어둠에 잡혔더라면, 해의 날 수와 달의 수에 들지 않았더라면,

That night—may thick darkness seize it;

may it not be included among the days of the year

nor be entered in any of the months.

7. 그 밤에 자식을 배지 못하였더라면, 그 밤에 즐거운 소리가 나지 않았더라면,

May that night be barren;

may no shout of joy be heard in it.

8. 날을 저주하는 자들 곧 리워야단을 격동시키기에 익숙한 자들이 그 밤을 저주하였더라면,

May those who curse days curse that day,

those who are ready to rouse Leviathan.

9. 그 밤에 새벽 별들이 어두웠더라면, 그 밤이 광명을 바랄지라도 얻지 못하며 동틈을 보지 못하였더라면 좋았을 것을,

May its morning stars become dark;

may it wait for daylight in vain

and not see the first rays of dawn,

10. 이는 내 모태의 문을 닫지 아니하여 내 눈으로 환난을 보게 하였음이로구나

for it did not shut the doors of the womb on me

to hide trouble from my eyes.

11. 어찌하여 내가 태에서 죽어 나오지 아니하였던가 어찌하여 내 어머니가 해산할 때에 내가 숨지지 아니하였던가

“Why did I not perish at birth,

and die as I came from the womb?

12. 어찌하여 무릎이 나를 받았던가 어찌하여 내가 젖을 빨았던가

Why were there knees to receive me

and breasts that I might be nursed?

13. 그렇지 아니하였던들 이제는 내가 평안히 누워서 자고 쉬었을 것이니

For now I would be lying down in peace;

I would be asleep and at rest

14. 자기를 위하여 폐허를 일으킨 세상 임금들과 모사들과 함께 있었을 것이요

with kings and rulers of the earth,

who built for themselves places now lying in ruins,

15. 혹시 금을 가지며 은으로 집을 채운 고관들과 함께 있었을 것이며

with princes who had gold,

who filled their houses with silver.

16. 또는 낙태되어 땅에 묻힌 아이처럼 나는 존재하지 않았겠고 빛을 보지 못한 아이들 같았을 것이라

Or why was I not hidden away in the ground like a stillborn child,

like an infant who never saw the light of day?

17. 거기서는 악한 자가 소요를 그치며 거기서는 피곤한 자가 쉼을 얻으며

There the wicked cease from turmoil,

and there the weary are at rest.

18. 거기서는 갇힌 자가 다 함께 평안히 있어 감독자의 호통 소리를 듣지 아니하며

Captives also enjoy their ease;

they no longer hear the slave driverʼs shout.

19. 거기서는 작은 자와 큰 자가 함께 있고 종이 상전에게서 놓이느니라

The small and the great are there,

and the slaves are freed from their owners.

20. ○어찌하여 고난 당하는 자에게 빛을 주셨으며 마음이 아픈 자에게 생명을 주셨는고

“Why is light given to those in misery,

and life to the bitter of soul,

21. 이러한 자는 죽기를 바라도 오지 아니하니 땅을 파고 숨긴 보배를 찾음보다 죽음을 구하는 것을 더하다가

to those who long for death that does not come,

who search for it more than for hidden treasure,

22. 무덤을 찾아 얻으면 심히 기뻐하고 즐거워하나니

who are filled with gladness

and rejoice when they reach the grave?

23. 하나님에게 둘러 싸여 길이 아득한 사람에게 어찌하여 빛을 주셨는고

Why is life given to a man

whose way is hidden,

whom God has hedged in?

24. 나는 음식 앞에서도 탄식이 나며 내가 앓는 소리는 물이 쏟아지는 소리 같구나

For sighing has become my daily food;

my groans pour out like water.

25. 내가 두려워하는 그것이 내게 임하고 내가 무서워하는 그것이 내 몸에 미쳤구나

What I feared has come upon me;

what I dreaded has happened to me.

26. 나에게는 평온도 없고 안일도 없고 휴식도 없고 다만 불안만이 있구나

I have no peace, no quietness;

I have no rest, but only turmoil.”
