Shalom! I translated the already posted article into English to send it to professors at universities in foreign countries, including the United States, and at theological universities in Korea. In the meantime, I am re-posting it because I have edited and attached the part I posted earlier. I've posted it in English as well, so it's quite long, but please read it. This is something I need to share with everyone who God called me to be an instrument and teach me a long time ago. I pray that it will bring new vitality to everyone's religious life, that through this article, God's righteousness will shine like the noon sun, and that His kingdom will come quickly.
Law and Rule- The Law and God’s Rule
Shalom! It is said that where sin is great, grace is also great. Before I knew Jesus, I was a person who lived under the illusion that I was righteous even though I committed heinous sins. So, of course, I didn’t know anything about the church, the Bible, Jesus, or God, His kingdom, and righteousness. Until my mid-20s, I lived a confident life, believing that I was great. However, through the Bible the evangelist gave me and God coming to me with fear, I instantly saw the ugly sinner I was and repented. I accepted Jesus, was baptized in His name, and was forgiven of my sins by God. Five years have passed since I repented. And I received the Holy Spirit as a gift about 9 months after my baptism, and lived for about 40 years preaching the gospel, reading and organizing (summarizing) the Bible.
I have always been poor and suffered a lot. I was a person who believed in Jesus, recognized my sin, and tried to live righteously, but I was not always able to live that way and sometimes abandoned the image of a perfect believer. I know the spiritual secret that God gave me through His love and patience in this ugly life, and I am sharing it like this.
What God is saying through me today to all believers is law and government.(The Law and God’s Rule) God gave me understanding of the Bible not only through reading the Bible, meditating on it, organizing (summarizing) it, and preaching the gospel, but also through the agony and pain I experience through my daily life.
A long life of poverty and a life at the bottom of the world appeared as a burning thirst for justice, which led to the praise of the justice of the Bible and the Law of the Pentateuch, which best expressed this. Failing by 1 point in the second round of the civil service examination showed a strong desire to succeed. This has led to at least 25 years of reading and organizing (summarizing) the Bible and the continuous pursuit of enlightenment that comes through the Bible. After divorcing my Catholic wife, I lived a life of sleeplessness and depression for four years. It was such a great pain that I did not want to experience it again, and it brought about a sense of resignation in life. I saw my heart torn, with only the edges sticking together a little. This came to me as the Lord's pain over the separation of Catholicism and Protestantism.
People who have experienced lamenting the injustice of this world, venting their anger, and running amok because they cannot control their anger have developed a thirst for righteousness, or hunger. The best and only way to quench this thirst is to discover a just law. An unknown person with no power or money desperately wants justice, but it is almost impossible to bring justice to this world with one's own strength. The laws of the world also follow money and power, so the reality is that laws established for justice are being swayed by money, power, and even the instigation of the crowd. It is also the appearance of the whole world. In a world full of such injustice, all the believing people of God sometimes wander, unsure of where to go in the great stream of the world that moves sometimes for freedom, sometimes for democracy, and sometimes for capital.
And in the world, there are not only ideas, attention, money, and power, but also the rampaging forces of darkness, that is, the devil, who try to swing us around, knock us down, kill us, destroy us, and fall us. Such spaces are our families, workplaces, organizations, countries, and peoples. In this temptation, we struggle to our death to live better than others, in a state where it is difficult to clearly discern what is God's will and what is.
Please see how a young man in his mid-20s who knew nothing about the Bible, the church, Jesus, or God became a completely different person after meeting God, repenting, reading and summarizing the Bible, evangelizing, and experiencing hardships. And I hope that the recipients of all letters will consider the meaning of Jesus that I conveys(preaches).
This is the blessed news that God, who created heaven and earth and is love, has embraced and loved me for 40 years and delivered to me. I pray that everyone will be filled with the joy of encountering the truth of the Bible that will enable all mankind to live happily and peacefully in love.
There was a pastor who had read the Bible almost 100 times and asked me what the Bible was in a nutshell. I once met this pastor and heard that when he asked thousands of people what they could say about the Bible in one word, only one person who graduated from Seoul National University answered that the Bible is the law. Of course, he asked me, but it was about 10 years ago, and I was hesitant because so many things came to mind, but he said that the Bible is the law. And at that time, I thought, how can the Bible be law in one word? But now I almost completely agree with what the pastor said. And an acquaintance of mine who graduated from Korea University Law School said that God gave the Bible to mankind to rule the world. These are truly insightful and valuable words.
In other words, the Bible is the law and a tool of God's rule over this world. These words are now connected to the topic I want to convey today. Although I believed in Jesus, received the Holy Spirit, preached the gospel, read the Bible, and summarized it without stopping, I experienced extreme poverty with no significant improvement economically, whether it was 40 years ago or now. But I believe that this period was the most blessed moment in the world. Because of that, we were able to share grace together on this topic through the incredible grace that God gave us. So I really can't help but be overflowing with gratitude and praise.
A long time ago, when I was a middle school teacher at Jamsil Church, the theme of middle school education that year was the Kingdom of God, but at the time, I did not know much about the Kingdom of God or government. I also read about the Kingdom of God written by pastors from Seoul National University, but I did not really understand it. In a word, there are still not many examples that explain or help us understand the kingdom and righteousness of God. Even more so than the Kingdom of God, we are deeply immersed in the topic of faith, becoming rich, and succeeding in the world, and are struggling. So, there is little interest or effort in building the Kingdom of God, which we really need to achieve
The law has been in place since the moment humans existed on this earth, and the first law, that is, God's command to humans, is not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil! Manage the Garden of Eden! Conquer the sky, land, and sea and rule over living things! was the command. A sin occurs when a violation of this law or command is violated. Therefore, the 'criminal legalism', which states that there is no sin without the law, is mentioned in the Bible for the first time in human history, and is found in the Apostle Paul's Epistle to the Romans. And the Law of Hammurabi, the Roman Law of the Twelve Tables, and the 8-Article Prohibition Law of our Gojoseon are ancient laws, and all human groups and organizations had laws. A world without law would simply become a terrifying world of people who are powerful, commit evil, and enjoy violence, so if humans want to live in peace in this world, laws must exist. And although there are laws, there are not many monarchies or dictatorships on earth that recklessly break them and act. Although there are still countries with vicious North Korea and monarchies, most countries recognize the sovereignty of the people and seek to rule by law. The rule of law is the most basic of democracy.
Heaven is a place where God's will is fulfilled and there is perfect order. I believe that the kingdom of God is not one in which God does this or that as he pleases, but a kingdom in which perfect laws are observed. And we are praying every day during worship according to the Lord's prayer that the kingdom of God, where laws are well observed, will be established on this earth as well. The kingdom of God on earth, which must be established on earth as in heaven, is a country ruled by law. Just as it is said that God gave the Bible to govern this world, and the Bible can be summarized in one word as law, a nation governed according to the laws in the Bible is the nation that God wants to establish on this earth. All believers, theologians and pastors should have no doubts about this.
In this regard, if we manage the affairs of the church and live our religious life as we please for theological claims or personal purposes, the kingdom of God will never be established on this earth. God can never establish His kingdom on this earth without law. Since there is no standard for believers to live on this earth, how can the kingdom of God, which is the most orderly kingdom among the kingdoms of order, be established on this earth through churches and individual believers who live as they please?
The frontier garrison is the bulwark of any country. In the past, castles were built and beacons were raised. First, the garrison watched the enemy's movements from the border and had the entire country prepare for war. Primarily, the garrison must fight and repel invasions by foreign enemies. And the duty to immediately notify the central government of an invasion by a foreign enemy lies with the military guarding the border (frontier garrison).
But let's say that the garrison, which belongs to the watchman, sleeps all the time, and that he does not stay awake alternately day and night to watch for enemy movements or invasions. And since it is a remote area, if they take advantage of the central government's lack of supervision and surveillance (go and check it out) and frequently leave and vacate their positions for one reason or another, it will be a crime punishable by death.
This is because people who trust them can rest, sleep, and work comfortably. Even now, there are people who work as watchmen, a security guard at every workplace. And the soldiers at the border. Security guards guard the apartment, guard the house, and guard the facilities. However, because these facilities are located in remote locations, there are cases where higher-level supervision and monitoring are neglected. This is because superiors do not visit remote areas often. Taking advantage of that gap, there is less work and no supervision, so now they just come to work and leave as they please. And they do not change work shifts according to the law and ignore all principles, laws, and systems related to work. And some bosses want to do whatever they want, so they break down the legal hierarchy. And what would happen if the commander changed the work schedule, which is the basis of work, without any principles, depending on who he wanted to see well? This is because a crazy person is the commander and leader of the garrison, so it is clear that the organization will be destroyed because of such a commander or person in charge. (It can be compared to the fact that the senior pastor, who is the same as the commander of the frontier garrison, manages finances, appoints elders and deacons, and runs the church as he pleases)
If the law does not specify what to do in certain cases, it will become a garrison unit where the commander without supervision and without supervision does as he pleases. And this organization will become a private organization of powerful and strong-willed people who ignore the hierarchical order. It's clear. However, there is no war right now, so if this garrison is on the beach, the agents will always be fishing, and if there is work at their house, they can come to work and go home as they please. It is clear that work shifts and work organization are at the discretion of the commander. And if the garrison is on a mountain, they will set up a signal guard at the entrance to the mountain far away and have them contact them if anyone comes. And it is clear that the remaining people will always be on the mountain, dressed carelessly, drinking, singing and dancing, and becoming a mindless garrison. And it is clear that all members who believe in them will be killed, injured, or taken into slavery in an instant. The existence and enforcement of strict and fair laws are directly related to our lives.
However, when there are strict laws and a commander or person in charge who governs according to these laws, this organization will fulfill its mission. However, each church, like a garrison, is scattered across this land to save souls and try to change the world. In other words, we want to fulfill God’s will, establish His kingdom, and fulfill His righteousness. And all the pastors in the world are in charge of their churches, and they all claim that God has appointed them as the pastors of their churches. And he claims that Jesus set him up. There is probably not a single pastor in the world who would claim that he was made pastor of that church by himself.
But what in the world would happen to a church that has no law, or a church that ignores the law even if there is a law, and a church where the law is made to benefit the pastor or elders? And what will happen to the church if the pastor or theologian does not properly understand the existence of the law and does not educate the church members? And they established a doctrine with theological claims, but the doctrine was, "No, you don't have to keep the Old Testament. They treat the Law, the most important law of the Old Testament, passively, and all you need is faith. It's not works(behavior) or the Law. You're saved by faith, you're made righteous by faith. You can go to heaven with faith, and righteous actions or keeping the Law are not important in this New Testament era.” It is taught like this.
And since the pastor teaches this as he preaches, there is no Law, so when a large number of people gather at the church, they take care of their own car, house, clothes, salary, and retirement pension before the congregation. He further said, "You must live well like me. If you believe in Jesus well, this is what will happen. If an elder or deacon lives poorly and things do not work out, it is because of a lack of prayer and a religious problem. Please imitate me." Let's say pastors do this.
If so, who and when will establish the kingdom of God, which requires such strict laws to be established?
If pastors all over the world taught that to their flock, the saints would also accept those words as truth. So they will be filled with anxiety about what they will eat and drink to survive. And the saints will be filled with the desire to live well in this world. And they will live here with all their life's focus and goals.
This is also the reality of the United States and the entire capitalist world. Everyone is passionate about living well and is competing fiercely. In building the kingdom of God, we must all examine ourselves and see what we are doing.
Therefore, God, who is almighty, just, and fair, gave fair and just Laws so that no one can argue. Just as we understand that the Bible is the law, or that the Bible was given to humans by God to rule the world, we have laws that prevent us from doing as we please. And that law is the Bible and the Law of Moses in the Bible. You must believe it, and I hope you believe it.
If you have read the Bible 100 times and still do not understand these topics, you still have a long way to go. People who suffer from injustice, are oppressed by injustice, are suffocated by injustice, and live without personal freedom or rights desperately hope that justice will be established.
Perhaps the people who are most urgent and thirsty in this regard are those who believe in Jesus while hiding in a world of personal dictatorship like North Korea. Although they believe in Jesus, they cannot praise or worship freely and cannot call on God freely. They are so desperate for a free religious life. If they are discovered while believing in Jesus, they will be put to death and go to prison for that reason alone, where they will have to live a very miserable life.
This life has been going on for over 70 years now. Jesus told us to love passionately with our brothers in faith and to remember those who were imprisoned. So, if you love them and think about them, you will have to struggle to do anything to save them, rather than living too extravagantly with material things on this earth and not owning a lot of wealth to pass on to your children. This is one of the laws of the believer. If you know this law, you will never be able to live a rich life and brag about it to others.
And there are many people who desperately hope that the Lord will come. The number one priority of prayer for those imprisoned in North Korea is for Jesus to return to this earth and judge those who imprisoned him. And for all those who struggle against injustice and live hard lives, Jesus will come quickly and put an end to this evil and bad situation. And those who love the Lord and desperately want to see Him will also pray and hope that the Lord will come soon.
The coming of the Lord is to eradicate all injustice in this world and establish a kingdom of righteousness where justice flows and shines like the morning sun. Because of this, a perfectly ordered country of peace has been established, and the people of this country are now filled with joy, which is why they yearn for this country. And this country is built in the Holy Spirit, and it is impossible for humans to build it alone. When this country stands in the world, no one will suffer anymore from injustice and unfairness.
Roman 14:17. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
We have believed that the cross of Jesus was filled with only love. On the cross, God's love for humanity is revealed to everyone who can meditate on it. To save us, sinners, He gave His only Son as a sacrifice, shed His blood, and allowed Him to die on the cross. This is clear evidence of His love for us.
Jesus also obeyed his Father's will and silently bore that scary and heavy cross out of love for us and suffered, so it is the truth that the love of God and Jesus is revealed on the cross.
However, the justice of God, who is just, is also revealed on the cross. Discussion of this part is indeed rare. Romans 3:21-26 explains this well. God gave His only begotten Son for us, sinners, to reveal His love for us and His righteous attributes.
Sin is breaking the law, and there is always punishment for sin. We committed a sin and the punishment was death. However, God took pity on this and wanted to save us, and he did so by blaming all of our sins on his flawless Son.
It is God's justice that someone must shed blood and die in order to solve the problem of sin that led to our death. And if you commit a sin and live in this world with death, you can never avoid judgment after you die. However, Jesus took that punishment personally. This is how He atoned for the sins we committed. By doing this, God's justice, which never overlooks sin, was realized.
On the cross, there is at the same time the indescribable love of Jesus and God for humanity and the execution of punishment for sins that no one can avoid. Everyone knows that the Israelites in the Old Testament slaughtered animals, shed their blood, and offered sacrifices as sacrifices, showing for more than a thousand years what Jesus would do in the future.
Love and Justice Appeared on the Cross (Romans 3:21-26)
Romans 3:21. But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
22. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,
23. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24. and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
25. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished --
26. he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
It is a very important verse, but the translations in Catholicism and Protestantism are different, and the five translations(Korean) within Protestantism are also different.
While looking at English, I will explain what I understand by the grace of God. Please refer to them and compare.
First, verse 21 states that God’s righteousness is best expressed in the Book of Law. The righteous God included the Pentateuch of Moses with His own attributes intact. I know that this is because God wants us, the nation of Israel, and all people in the world to live righteously while reading these Words.
Understanding God's righteousness is not easy for us. Therefore, there is an aspect in which we must search for and synthesize all phrases related to God's righteousness, such as God's righteousness, justice, and righteousness, in the Bible. Justice has many meanings, one of which is that punishing sin is an aspect of God's justice.
However, this time, God revealed another righteousness, not the righteousness found in this Law, but the righteousness testified to by the Law and the Prophets. This means that the righteousness that comes from Abraham's faith has already been recorded in the Book of Law, or Genesis, and the righteousness that comes from Habakkuk's righteous life has already been evidenced in the Book of Habakkuk, or the Book of Prophets.
This means that there are differences from God's righteousness revealed in the Book of Law. However, that righteousness is the righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus and is a righteousness that extends to all believers, so there is no discrimination (verse 22). In other words, those who believe in Jesus will be recognized as righteous by God without discrimination. This discrimination means that the path to righteousness is now open to non-Jews and Gentiles as long as they believe in Jesus.
And it explains how that righteousness is made possible for us, Gentiles and sinners. First, all people, including Gentiles and Jews, have sinned against God and fallen short of glory. This is a word that explains the human being who died due to Adam's sin. When Adam was without sin in Eden, he could enjoy eternal life and live with God without suffering or disease.
However, Adam committed a sin by breaking God's command, that is, the law, and as a result of this sin, he died(Spiritual death and physical death). So, as soon as he was expelled from Eden, he was deprived of eternal life and had to live and die in this world through all kinds of hardships. Naturally, the impact of that sin also spread to us, his descendants. It means that because of this (sin) we were deprived of the glory that we could have enjoyed (verse 23).
Verse 24 says that we have been justified freely by God’s grace through the redemption in Christ. This is the redemption in Christ. Now God sends his only begotten Son to save mankind from sin. And the Only Begotten Son sheds his blood and dies on the cross. As foreshadowed by the sacrificial system of the Old Testament, the blood and death that atone for the sins of all mankind are accomplished through Jesus, the Son of God. Now, if we believe in this Jesus, that is, if we believe in Him as our Savior, if we believe in the fact that He shed His blood and died on behalf of our sins, our sins will be forgiven. This is the redemption that is in Jesus.
To explain it more accurately, it means believing in Jesus, repenting of your sins, and being baptized according to church procedures. When that happens, God forgives the person's past sins. This word is the redemption in Jesus. However, this redemption does not include our labor, blood, or death. Because Jesus has already done that on our behalf. This is a word that explains that in the process of receiving forgiveness for our sins, God does not punish us for our sins. God left our sins and punishment behind and made Jesus bear our sins and receive punishment, and this is clear evidence that He loves us. God speaks of righteousness to people who have become like this.
However, what we need to understand well is that we must think about what the early church members looked like when Apostle Paul preached these words at the time. There should be no difference at all between the believers then and the believers now. All the believers at that time were people who believed in Jesus, were forgiven of their sins, and even received the Holy Spirit. When we look at the early church members, we must understand that they were people who lived as brothers, sharing all material things with each other, without anything being completely mine or thine.
And in Romans 4:17-22, God explains the process of Abraham's justification, making it clear that the faith he consistently believed for 25 years was the faith that was recognized as righteousness. We must think deeply. The Epistle to the Romans clearly conveys that there is a part of faith that has not changed over a long period of time that requires God's recognition of a person as righteousness. We must also go to Habakkuk 2:4 and check about Habakkuk's righteous life that is recognized as righteous. If Calvin and Luther did not confirm this and said that all believers are justified by looking only at Romans 1:17 and the words found here (Romans 3:21-26), then we too must now confirm the original meaning of that faith. If there is something to correct, it must be corrected. (What I am conveying this way is actually what Jesus taught me in order through the experiences that occurred through my life of faith, my life of evangelism, and the understanding that arose as I read and summarized the Bible. Acts 2:37-39 As written, repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus, forgiveness of sins, and the gift of the Holy Spirit occurred in that order.
After that, I believed that I was justified by faith when I continued to evangelize, read and organize the Bible, and continue this kind of life for more than 10 years(Almost 20 years). And as time passed, I came to understand the faith of justification as above through Habakkuk 2:4 and Romans 4:17-22.)
What does verse 25 mean that God offered Jesus as a sacrifice for sin through faith in the blood of Jesus? It refers to a sacrifice offered by shedding the blood of an animal as described in Leviticus in the Old Testament. Death follows sin. And God has decreed that without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sins. Because in blood there is life. Faith in blood means that sin must shed blood and die. This means that if you commit a sin, there is no other way than this. But because we sinned, we deserved to shed blood and die. By dying like that, we were born as sinners on this earth, destined to live for a while and then die, beings whose hope was cut off and our glory lost.
For these sinners, God offered his only begotten Son as a sacrifice to atone for our sins. The animal sacrifices that continued for 1,000 years were a foreshadowing to all mankind about the shedding of blood and death of Jesus. Because of his sin(Old Testament Israel sinner), we must think about what he felt when he stabbed a precious animal he had raised with his own hands, killed it, took the blood, and applied it to the horns of the altar. And we must also think about the grief that God must have felt when His only Son shed blood and died on the cross.
His parents, who lost their children to death, understand God's feelings even to one tenth of a millionth. I have heard the feelings of Christian parents who lost their children first. I once heard the testimony of a pastor who saw his 3-year-old child being crushed by a bus right before his eyes and his bone marrow bursting to death. God appeared to the person who had a nightmare that he could not forget for the rest of his life and said, "Don't worry. Your child is safe in heaven. Don't be sad. Now you will understand my feelings at least a little. When you preach the gospel, convey my feelings as well." He did it. God giving us his only begotten Son was never easy or happy, but difficult, tiring, sad, and sorrowful. However, because his love for us was greater than the pain, he gave his only begotten son.
And he says that in his patience God overlooked the sins we had committed before. When we did not know either Jesus or God, we were people who committed and committed sins that would result in death, shedding blood. I was such a sinner.
The sins I committed until I was 27 years old without knowing God were such great, terrible, and shameful sins that I later found out after believing in God and reading the Bible. I saw that I had committed countless sins that I could not even talk about. There are some sins that took more than ten years for me to repent and accept forgiveness from God. And I recognize that some sins are still too serious, and I try to live with a heart of constant repentance.
However, the reason why all humans live without recognizing sin while sinning against God is because they are already immersed in the devil and their souls are dead so that they cannot recognize sin. Please believe that all non-believers are in this state. And please believe that everyone who receives forgiveness and lives as God's people is actually a sinner who had to die like this in the past before believing in Jesus.
The Holy God Almighty God knows and sees these sins. Meanwhile, we have committed and are committing crimes. It is very difficult for God, who hates sin and wants to punish it, to tolerate such people without destroying them with fire and water. We often see parents attacking their children's murderers in court. If possible, most human beings want to find the person who kidnapped and killed their own child and take revenge several times more cruelly than that. However, because the law blocks, customs blocks, and the police blocks, we have to endure it.
However, there is a reason why God does not immediately punish us for the sins we commit, but rather endures and overlooks them. If a just God had punished us right away, we would have been punished, lost all our assets, our families would have been broken, and our bodies would have been ruined.
And now, if God sends Jesus and says that He will forgive those who believe in Him, who would believe in Jesus when they have already been punished? So, when He sees our sins, He overlooks them, but when we believe in Jesus, He forgives our sins as if we had never sinned. In other words, God does not ask about sin and does not give punishment appropriate to the sin.
You and I, who believe in Jesus, are people who have received this kind of love and grace from God. However, there is a reason why God sent Jesus to this extent, made him suffer, and endured our sins without punishing them.
First of all, it is for complete forgiveness of our sins as discussed above. And the important reason is that God did it to demonstrate His justice.
The crucifixion of Jesus reveals this righteousness of God. Because God is love, He wants to save us, but our sins must be resolved in some way on the side of God, who is just, and this must also be resolved justly.
The definition is defined as a punishment for sin in the Old Testament Law and a solution through the sacrificial system. It is the execution of capital punishment for crimes that cannot be resolved through sacrifice, such as murder, adultery, and blasphemy against God. This is God's justice. It is a punishment fit for the crime.
It is God's justice expressed in the Law, and God does not ignore it. God also keeps the Laws that He has set and given to mankind. God, who is omnipotent and omnipresent and can do anything, keeps the Law. We must believe in the just God who shows justice in this way.
Now, God's justice, or punishment for our sins, is revealed in Jesus' shedding his blood and suffering on the cross in our place. We must never forget this. And verse 26 is the conclusion to this.
God allowed Jesus' shedding of blood, suffering and death on the cross to show that He is just. And now, He did so to show that He is also the One who justifies those who believe in Jesus as our Savior. In other words, it was intended to show that God is just and is also the one who makes those who believe in Jesus just. This is how I interpret it while reading English.
After believing in Jesus for about 40 years
[I retired from a bank in 1983, entered university, studied for the civil service exam, believed in Jesus, was baptized, and was forgiven of my sins. Before this, God made me repent through the words of the Bible. He came directly to Gimhae Jangyu’s small room. Five years after repenting, I was baptized in the name of Jesus (May 19, 1991), and about nine months later, I received fire directly from Jesus. Then, I evangelized, read the Bible, organized (summarized), and did theology, and I came to understand this process. I began to understand justification by(from) faith about 20 years after receiving the Holy Spirit. And I understand the Law, and my understanding of this verse is recent. I confess that everything is the teachings of Jesus and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.]
Jesus clearly guided me according to the records of the Bible.
You and I are all equal learners of Jesus as brothers and sisters. As recorded in the Bible, I confess that only Jesus is the teacher and leader of all of us.
This is a passage (Romans 3:21-26) that must be understood correctly before moving on. This is more important than justification by(from) faith and needs to be better understood. Only when we fully understand the meaning of our salvation can we live justly, love God, and love our neighbors.
If you know this truth, you can see that the final judgment exists very clearly. Sin can only be resolved through Jesus and through repentance after believing in Jesus. If you do not believe in Jesus, the problem of sin remains, and eternal punishment awaits you as a matter of course.
There is no use in trying to do things like I live righteously, I live justly, I practice love, or I cultivate the path (the path to enlightenment). The thoughts of those who wish to attain Buddhahood, escape reincarnation, and go to paradise through the Tao (the path to enlightenment) are revealed immediately after death as to what is right and what is wrong.
In Buddhism, there is the teaching of self-existence in heaven and earth (I am the most precious in heaven and earth: 천상천하 유아독존(天上天下唯我獨) and the claim that one can overcome death through one's own enlightenment. The idea is that a human being, a sinner, can attain enlightenment and reach the state of liberation through asceticism (for example, Master Bodhidharma worked hard while looking at a wall for nine years). So they say that with this realization, they can solve the problems of life and death. However, this idea is a vain claim made by people who center everything around themselves.
In other words, they argue that each human being is the center of the universe, so humans must understand this well and live their lives. It is said that people are the most important thing in heaven and earth, and because I exist, the universe also exists. However, when a living person looks at what has happened to the universe due to the death of the person who claims that, it immediately becomes clear that this claim is false.
When the monk died and was burned, relics (transparent things like bones) came out, erected a stupa, and caused a stir. When that person dies, he or she goes into a small grave and everything about that person comes to an end. However, the living people and the land remain the same. The entire universe exists without any change. He believed that he was the center of the universe and the only being, but in reality, he was nothing more than dust.
However, when a person believes in Jesus, he believes that he is a dust-like being who will die due to sin and lives believing that he is dead. So, we always praise, worship, and live while looking at God, Jesus, and the whole world that He created. And he believes and lives that Jesus, the universe, and all things exist separately from his own existence. According to his belief, if he dies, God, Jesus, and the entire universe will continue to exist without even 1% connection to this person's death. Only I (that person) am dead and no longer exists. And because that person believed in Jesus, he will be resurrected. That person's soul is in heaven.
We can confirm whether something is true with our own eyes and with our whole body. A human being, who is like dust, must cultivate the path (effort to attain enlightenment) by tormenting the entire universe, world, human being, and society while tormenting his/her own small brain and body. After he/she dies, only a small grave remains. And the entire universe exists as if nothing had happened, without any damage or loss.
The delusion of people who live like that was so great that they thought that they, who were like dust, were bigger, more important, and better than the creator of the world. However, when he dies, everything remains the same, and only that mistaken life disappears from this world and becomes a handful of dust.
How foolish it was for monks to sacrifice all their youth and live their whole lives without getting married and giving up anything they wanted to eat. But the result is nothing but a meaningless and fruitless life. And since the problem of sin has not been resolved for those who live like that, hell awaits them again. The confession of the Korean monk Seongcheol before his death was also like that.
God's Law, that is, the law, is not just a law given to the Israelites, but a law that determines the life of all mankind and becomes the standard for the final judgment that judges everyone's actions even after death. And when Jesus comes, all humans will die, the earth we lived on will disappear, and even when the stars we used to see will fall from the sky, it(The Law) will still exist without any damage. The law that the people of the Old Testament praised without ceasing is the Law, and it is the law that we must also praise, exalt, learn, convey, and keep without ceasing.
The Law was first given by God to Israel to rule this world, and then Jesus came and gave it to everyone in the world. The purpose of Jesus' coming was to save humanity, but it was also the fulfillment of the Law to create a world where the Law is kept as is.
Matt 5:17. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
18. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
19. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
It clearly states the purpose of Jesus’ coming. The Old Testament consists of 39 books, including the Pentateuch, history, poetry, and prophecy. But the Pentateuch is the Law. It is the Law of how Israel, God's people, should love God and their neighbors, and it becomes the standard of life for all Israelites. If they live according to this Law, they will be blessed, but if they break this Law, they will be cursed. The Old Testament contains a contract between God and the Israelites centered on this Law.
The book that records living according to that Law is a history book, and the Psalms are the content of praising, praying, and worshiping God while living according to this Law. And when Israel failed to live according to the Law and lived a life of disobedience, the prophets predicted destruction if they lived that way.
That is why the Pentateuch is the most important. Jesus came and said that we must keep this Law. The content of Matthew 5:17-20 above is that through Jesus, this Law will not disappear, but on the contrary, he will complete the Law that Old Testament Israel failed to keep for 1,000 years. And He specifically recorded the method in the Book of Ezekiel.
Ezekiel 36:24. "`For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.
25. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.
26. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
27. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
28. You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God.
Now, as promised in the Old Testament, Jesus is coming. He comes to solve the sins of all mankind. He came as a sacrifice to atone for our sins. He shed blood, died on the cross, was buried, and was resurrected three days later. Now he has gone to heaven, sits at the right hand of God, and reigns with all authority in heaven and earth. And when he returns, he will judge this world with the Law.
Jesus came, shed his blood and died to pay for our sins. Now, if we repent of our sins, believe in Jesus as our Savior, and are baptized with water at church, God will forgive us even if our sins are like scarlet. And He gives us a new spirit, the Holy Spirit. So our hearts are created anew. This is called re-creation or rebirth, and God does it because I (we) could never create myself (us) like that with my (our) prayers, training, and efforts. And the seal of the Holy Spirit is firmly stamped on us and we become God's works(workmanship). These people do not struggle to live well and succeed in this world as we see them now, but their hearts become soft and they keep the Law.
The love and obsession for the Law of the Trinity is so strong and clear that humans cannot do anything about it. All of the work of the Trinity is geared towards humans keeping the Law. Why did God endure 1,000 years of Israel's history and tell Israel to learn and keep the Law well, and then destroy them when they broke the Law, as promised in the Old Testament? What secret is there in the Law that made God wait so long for the Israelites of the Old Testament to keep the Law? And why did Jesus, the only begotten son, come and say that he came to this earth to fulfill his Law? And why does it say that the Holy Spirit comes and softens hearts to keep the Law?
The reason is because the Law is also God. This is because in the Law given to Moses, the invisible attributes of God are expressed in writing so that everyone can understand them. This is because the attributes of God that we know, such as love, justice, fairness, holiness, uniqueness, and almightiness, are revealed in the Law. If you want to know the attributes of the One who gave the Law, you can do so by reading the Law. Among the people of the Old Testament, those who knew the meaning of the Law always praised it. The Law is an object of praise, and this is no different for the people of the New Testament.
God himself testified about this Law. This is God's word about the Law that God gave to Israel and all humans through Moses 3,500 years ago, at a time when there were no people in Korea and no proper law in the world. There is no problem if you see the Law as God. And the Law is the infallible word of God. We must see through the Bible that the Law, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all unified as one. All theology, the ministry of pastors, and the efforts and prayers of believers must now see this unity and establish the kingdom of God governed by the Law on this earth.
Deuteronomy 4:8. And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws as this body of laws I am setting before you today?
I prepared for the second round of the civil service examination in Sillim-dong 30 years ago. At that time, 7 people who passed the first round did a group study together. Two students from Seoul National University, one from Pusan National University, one from Sungkyunkwan University, one from Kangwon National University, and me and another person studied together. And among them, two became civil servants and one was a level 7 civil servant, but I saw him become a level 4. Those who passed the civil service examination started as level 5 administrative officers, so 30 years have passed and they would have become at least level 2 or higher civil servants.
At the time, I always ranked in the top 10 in the mock exams (preliminary exams taken before the second exam) that were taken by a group of 200 people who passed the first exam. So everyone believed that I would pass the exam with good grades. However, as you can see, I failed and became a pastor spreading the will of God. At the time, I was sad and difficult to accept that I failed by 1 point, but now I am so relieved that it turned out to be a good thing.
Although I am not a law student, I studied hard about some laws, such as constitutional law, administrative law, international law, and civil law, because it was an exam subject. So, I could say that I know a little bit about law and administration. My major is public administration, and I studied it until graduate school. As I believed in Jesus and read and summarized the Bible, I became a person who praised the Law like the people of the Old Testament. And Jesus himself came and spoke about the Law as follows:
Matt 23:23. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices -- mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law -- justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
Jesus is also the one who gave Moses the Pentateuch. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one and do all things together. He came to this earth in person, looked at the Law, and said this. And He praises those who keep the Law well, and tells them to keep the letter of the Law well and to keep justice, love (compassion), and faith, which correspond to the more serious spirit of the Law. God teaches us that the Law is the greatest of all laws in the world, and that the most central ideas of the Law are love, justice, and faith.
Now, if we believe these words of Jesus and the words of God the Father as they are, we do not need to deeply study the Law of the Pentateuch and find its spirit, but if we understand the Law according to the word of God, there will be no mistake. Without a doubt, all Laws are an explanation of love, justice, and faith, and will be given by God to humans in order to create a world full of love, justice, and faith.
Even though I say this, I will explain it a little for those who still do not have faith in the Law. I myself lack a lot of research into Torah, and I would like to study well at an English-speaking university. Please support my research and pray for me. About six years ago, I had a dream while sending the "Seoul Report" to seminaries at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Oxford University. I sent it to 4 universities about justification by(from) faith, etc. and said that I wanted to learn the Law. It was for justice in the world. And in my dream, I saw four roots of wild ginseng that were hundreds of years old, and I firmly believe that all four universities would be interested in me.
A rabbi researched the Laws of the Pentateuch and organized them into 613 articles. There are 248 rules telling us to do something and 365 rules telling us not to do it. Jesus organized this again. He organized all the Laws into two great commandments. It was organized through love of God and love of neighbors.
According to the Shema of Deuteronomy in the Old Testament, the first commandment is to love God with all our heart, all our strength, and all our mind, and the second great commandment is to love our neighbors as ourselves. This is Jesus’ teaching. God gave these to Moses as the 10 commandments. The first 1-4 commandments are about God, and the 6-10 commandments are about humans. This is what the rabbi summarized as he looked at the Pentateuch of Moses into the 613 canons. And if you actually go to the Pentateuch and check the verses, you will definitely see that all the regulations are recorded as I explained above. I am always learning these regulations and always confirming that the above words are true. The kingdom of God is the rule of Law, and that law is the Law. This is what all pastors, theologians, and believers must believe.
I studied the laws of the world a little, and although there are many parts of the world's laws that follow God's laws, the constitutions of all worlds, such as American laws and Korean laws, are always changing. The Korean Constitution has also been revised several times. Laws must have both stability and adaptability at the same time, but as time changes, laws also change, which makes it difficult to guarantee legal stability. And because the Constitution is a political product, it is created to follow the interests of political parties or those in power, making it difficult for the general public to confirm or discern. Most people are governed without a deep understanding of the Constitution or laws. The Law is the most fair and just law that has not changed one jot or tittle for 3,500 years, regardless of changes in the world. It is a law that will transcend the ages and bring happiness to all mankind. It is a law worthy of the praise of all mankind.
If we compare, for example, the provisions of the Law and the provisions of the Constitution regarding houses and land, if we follow the Laws, there will be no one in Korea or on the entire planet who does not have a house and land of his own. In other words, the foundation of heaven on earth is the regulations of the Law regarding the house and the land.
And as you can see, if you look at the examples of capitalist countries in Korea and around the world, they are divided into poor and rich, and they are fighting against each other. There are 50 million people living in Korea, and 48% of the people do not have their own home. And as land was freely bought and sold, it ended up in the hands of the 30% of the people who made good money. So, 70% of the people do not have even a single pyeong of land, and 500,000 people, which is 1% of the people, have 50% of the usable land and each person owns more than 17,000 pyeong.
This is where the problems of all citizens arise. There are problems with education, work, marriage, and childbirth, and 40 people commit suicide every day. This is because rich people believe that land is valuable and when they have money, they buy land unconditionally. I saw an island farthest from the mainland in Gunsan, where I live. Dozens or hundreds of people had already divided up the small island and owned it, and the price per pyeong was already hundreds of thousands of won.
The entire country has been torn apart like this and is owned by a select few, so most of the people who have to live with their feet on the ground are living in a state of mental rapture (floating in the air) without a home or land, so they do not get married and commit suicide because they have no hope. In Korea, 40 people per a day are doing this(Suicide) without stopping for several years.
God, who knew in advance of the evil deeds of humans who use houses and land, which are most necessary for these people to live in, stipulated in the Law that they should never buy or sell houses and lands carelessly, and that the land should be well divided by tribe and all He made it possible for people to live happily with houses and land. How just and loving is God's heart for all people? And to all the rich landowners in Korea who want to own houses and land as they please without considering their neighbors, this is a warning to the countries and rich people who own the land of the world.
evil things people do
Isaiah 5:8. 8. Woe to you who add house to house and join field to field till no space is left and you live alone in the land.
9. The LORD Almighty has declared in my hearing: "Surely the great houses will become desolate, the fine mansions left without occupants.
10. A ten-acre vineyard will produce only a bath of wine, a homer of seed only an ephah of grain."
These Words bring great comfort and peace to all Koreans and people around the world who do not have land or a home. This is how God’s justice appears. However, Korea has come to the situation described above with its current constitution that discusses capitalism, liberalism, and people's sovereignty. However, when there are so many people in Korea who have no hope, how can that law be recognized as a law that allows me to pursue my own happiness?
I memorized the law( Korean constitution) month after month, and studied all of them correctly, even though I got one or two questions wrong on the constitutional law exam. The constitution, in which those who passed all judicial examinations (the exams to become prosecutors, judges, and lawyers) and public administration examinations, studyed hard, created this kind of Korea. Korean politicians boast that Korea is one of the world's top 10 economic and military powers. It is a world of conglomerates and those in power, and at least 50-60% of the people who do not have a house, land, or job have no way of survival even today. So, the number of people who say hell Joseon and face death alone is increasing, and the number of people who want to live alone without getting married is also increasing. So the world (God's kingdom) that God wants to build on this earth seems so far away.
However, we never give up hope and live powerfully in the hope of making this world God's kingdom. This is because there exists a Law that is completely fair and just. The existence of the Law in the Bible gives us infinite hope. This is because we see very clearly in the Law the great and wonderful image of the kingdom of God that we will create. And it is because We believe in Almighty God and Jesus, who has real authority over heaven and earth, who will finally enforce this Law on this earth.
Isn't the image of Jesus and God showing equal love for countless people without homes or land clearly revealed in the Law? Even if you search all the laws in the world, even Harvard Law School and Seoul National University Law School, they will never be able to come up with a law that would allow people all over the world to live equally and prosper. And there is no such law. However, God gave this Law to Moses 3,500 years ago, so just looking at this fact alone, we can believe in the living God and cannot help but praise the Law. There is a Law for all of us to overcome the world. We must acknowledge and enjoy that great Law.
And because this Law is the truth, it remains unchanged even as time passes. This amazing and great Law is the law and the hope of all believers. If you look closely at all other Laws, they are just and fair and stipulate that everyone should live happily with trust.
All Christians must love the Law and meditate, read, and memorize it without stopping. I believe that you will be able to master all the Laws by putting in just 1/10th the effort of studying for the civil service exam (studying to become a high-ranking civil servant, prosecutor, or judge). With the treasure of treasures by our side, we risk our lives and risk our youth to study the man-made laws that are neither just nor fair and have a lifespan of only a few years or decades. All smart young people in Korea should not aim to become doctors, prosecutors or judges, but should focus on reading and studying the Bible so that this country can survive between great powers. We must live like Daniel. We look forward to the challenge of many young and talented people who love Korea and God.
And I sincerely hope that those who have studied a lot to become doctors, prosecutors, judges, and high-ranking public officials will not sacrifice their precious lives for their own personal gain. Do you believe in Jesus? I sincerely hope that with your renewed life, you will learn the Law with the precious talents God has given you and be faithful as workers who build an eternal kingdom on this earth. A truly wise person does not cling to the short-lived wealth and glory of this world. God gives those things without any effort. He pours everything into eternal life and the world.
And the Bible recorded the final of the kings, dignitaries, and their children of Israel at the time who were preoccupied with land and houses, like most of the rich people in Korea explained earlier.
Jer 39: 6. There at Riblah the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes and also killed all the nobles of Judah.
7. Then he put out Zedekiah's eyes and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.
8. The Babylonians set fire to the royal palace and the houses of the people and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
9. Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard carried into exile to Babylon the people who remained in the city, along with those who had gone over to him, and the rest of the people.
10. But Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people, who owned nothing; and at that time he gave them vineyards and fields.
It really happened just as Isaiah prophesied. The poor took over all the land. This also happened in Joseon. The Japanese army occupied the Lee Joseon Dynasty, which had suppressed Catholicism for 100 years, and the weakened Joseon Dynasty. The 100-year history of Catholic oppression was the longest and most miserable persecution in the 2,000 years of Christianity. Only the persecution by Nero and the Roman emperor is mentioned, but the history of Catholicism in Joseon is something that all believers in the world should look into with interest. The queen died after being stabbed by a ronin, and the king and prince were taken hostage to Japan. All the land owned by the king and the nobles was distributed to farmers after a land survey. What Japan did and what Babylon did to the Israelites are exactly the same.
“Currently, the 30% of rich people who own land, conglomerates, and those in power will be destroyed by some force, North Korea’s Kim Jong-un will die, and those who joined him and enjoyed prosperity through the blood of the people will all die and be taken captive. Those who were imprisoned in North Korea were released and liberated, and all the land in North Korea was divided among them. In South Korea, God's people who believed in Jesus and lived well and had no home or land divided all the land in South Korea. Everything happened over and over again through God’s work.” It is not strange at all if I tell you this in advance. No, that is truly how history will proceed.
Such a thing can definitely happen in this era we live in. The earthquake in Buan and Gyeongju, North Korea's nuclear weapons and long-term artillery, and South Korea's severe division and gap between rich and poor can do that right now. And there are 40 souls who cannot overcome this (a reality in which righteous people cannot live due to too much injustice) and end their own lives every day, asking Jesus without ceasing. And Jesus is listening to the cries of young people who are unable to get married. And for 70 years, God, who has all power in heaven and earth, has been listening to the ceaseless prayers of the 100,000 people in North Korea who cannot breathe and live in hiding because they believe in God.
Now it's strange that something doesn't happen. If God works, the greatest damage will be to the heartless fellow countrymen of this land who do not love and turn a blind eye to those who are dying even though they have billions, tens of billions, hundreds of billions, even trillions to eat and live well alone in this small land.
Where do you belong and how do you live? Are you on the side of a just God? Or are you competing with your studies to beat all the weaker humans and end up eating well and living alone? I sincerely hope that no one is on the side that Jesus, who holds all power, despises.
So far, I have talked about the law and the Law.
Psalm Chapter 1
1. Psalm 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
2. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
3. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
4. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
And there are many Protestants who take a passive stance on the Law and righteous behavior because they do not fully understand the Apostle Paul's Epistle to the Romans and Galatians. However, the following words are definitely found in Romans, so please do not get hung up on 500 years of crazy theology that has tried to explain the entire Bible by looking at just one passage.
Romans 2: 12. All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
13. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.
Romans 3: 31. Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.
The meaning of Romans 3:31 that faith establishes the Law is completely consistent with Jesus' words. Jesus said that the purpose of his coming was to fulfill the Law. And Apostle Paul said that the Law is established through faith. According to Jesus' words, his servant Paul worked to fulfill Jesus' words, and it is also said in Romans that:
If you only superficially understand Apostle Paul's letter, you may feel that it is different from what Jesus said, and in fact, there are theologians and pastors in the United States who are already waking up to this reality and saying it is strange. However, if you understand Romans and Galatians well, you will see that Paul, a sinner, could never do anything to the words of Jesus (explain them contrary to Jesus' words), the Son of God and in reality, he was explaining them well according to Jesus' will. Theologians and pastors' incorrect understanding and explanation of the Bible only makes the words of Jesus and Apostle Paul different from each other. Please firmly believe that all of Paul's letters do not deviate in the slightest from the words of Jesus.
In all of Paul's letters, faith is faith in Jesus. When a person believes in Jesus and receives forgiveness of his sins from God, he receives the gift of the Holy Spirit. When this happens, this person's heart will be softened and he will keep the Law well, as seen in the Book of Ezekiel. It is not like Paul, who did not know Jesus in the past, lose sight of the spirit of the Law and get caught up in the wording of the Law and miss the point. First of all, he will practice love, justice, and trust. This means that by believing in Jesus, the newly created people will not fail the Law like the old Israel, but will complete the Law with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Apostle Paul practiced love under the guidance of the Holy Spirit for at least 20 years and wrote Romans. Just as he did in the past when he did not know Jesus, he now puts aside human efforts to obtain righteousness by keeping the Law in detail. Apostle Paul's words that a born again person can keep all the provisions of the Law with the help of the Holy Spirit are actually saying that faith solidifies the Law. Faith is believing in Jesus, and the meaning of faith establishing the Law must be unraveled and understood. Believing in Jesus, receiving forgiveness of sins, and receiving the Holy Spirit is the foundation and basis of the New Testament. Any one of these must not be missing. When that happens (faith, forgiveness of sins, gift of the Holy Spirit), a person will be born again. This new person finally fulfills the Law under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This means that faith actually establishes the Law. The meaning of faith establishing the Law includes Paul's 20 years of experience receiving guidance from the Holy Spirit. And the work of the Holy Spirit is clearly included. It is impossible to understand this passage without understanding Apostle Paul's over 20 years of preaching the gospel and the work of the Holy Spirit.
We must clearly understand correctly the meaning that faith establishes the Law. Because we believe in Jesus, our sins are forgiven and the Holy Spirit comes as a gift to such people. This is the core and basic content of the New Testament. And the Holy Spirit regenerates this person. And this workmanship of God, who was born again, fulfills the Law with a soft heart, something that ancient Israel was unable to do. The person who fulfilled these words of the Bible is Apostle Paul. He experienced this verse. And specifically, we confirm the guiding ministry of Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit through his letters. The most important work that the Holy Spirit did for Apostle Paul was the salvation of souls and the establishment of the church. And the Holy Spirit enabled him to live a good life. There is no greater act of love than saving souls. And the Holy Spirit always guides those who have received the Holy Spirit only on good paths. The result of this greatest practice of love and a good life is the fulfillment of the Law. The confession of Apostle Paul, who experienced this life directly, is an expression of establishing the Law through faith.
And freedom from the law (the theme of Romans 7) absolutely does not mean that one can ignore the Law and live in violation of the Law at will. While learning the Law well and knowing what the Law is, one does not follow the letter of the Law, but receives the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The guidance of the Holy Spirit is first the spread of the gospel and a good life. Spreading the gospel can be said to be the most comprehensive and important act of love, and those who spread the gospel never harm anyone. He endures and loves no matter how hard it is for him. So, he patiently prayed for years or even decades, hoping that the soul would be saved.
If a father gives all of Korea's land to his children but fails to spread the gospel, he does not love his son completely. However, if he preached Jesus well and taught the Bible well even though he did not give anything, he played the role of a father so well that his child's soul would be saved and go to heaven. The Holy Spirit first enables us to be witnesses of Jesus and to practice the greatest love. And he allows us to live good lives. In this way, he puts into practice many parts of the Law. Although it is free from the Law, it is also the secret to completing the Law. Since I have become a person who knows and spreads this amazing spiritual secret, even though I lived in extreme poverty for 40 years and am a lowly being without a house or land, I can always rejoice and praise without end like Habakkuk. Hallelujah!!
Now let’s take a look again at who governs and how under this law.
A vicious sinner like me is spreading these precious words through the ‘50 Million Romans’ Daum Cafe and Naver Blog. I always tried various things to do what I wanted to do, but everything failed. And I never thought I would be the one to spread the word like this. Once I was good at evangelism, so I wanted to become a person who spread the word about how to evangelize. But this didn't work out well either. And when I gained a new understanding of justification by(from) faith, I spread it to the whole world and criticized the church and people, just as the Apostle Paul went crazy looking for believers when he did not know Jesus. But when my back hurt so much that I couldn't breathe, I turned away from this path.
And there was so much I learned that I wanted to be passionate about sharing it, but God still told me to learn, and now I am sharing this information. I found myself going overboard when sharing what I had learned moment by moment. We must never forget that everyone is always learning from Jesus. In fact, there is such a difference between what humans think and what God does that it is difficult for us to understand the trials that come our way. I lived like that for a long time trying to follow my own path, but this is how God uses such an ugly person. We give all glory, thanks and praise to the Trinity God. And we will share the grace of His reign together.
God is the Lord of all things in the world. Because He created the universe, humans, and all things, He is the owner, and of course, because He also created the Earth, the true owner is Jesus and God. We are just strangers and renters. So, when Jesus tells the rich man to sell all that he has and give it to the poor, it is a sin for the tenant to refuse the command given by the owner of the land and the house.
All rich people on this earth must listen carefully to the words of their master in order to survive and also possess eternal heaven. Therefore, it is natural that the Creator, the Master, rules over this world, the universe, humans, and all things. However, people who lack understanding of God's creation and rule or who do not believe in God desperately want to occupy, rule, and manage the visible land, all things, and humans for themselves. This greed led to robbery, plunder, and war, and the history of people eating and devouring each other is the history of the past years of sinful humans. Indeed, human history is a glorification of powerful nations, with heroes and conquerors, but it is nothing but a history stained with the sins of great sinners. In this history, the people who pursued peace without retaliating even after suffering the greatest damage were the ancestors of the people of the Republic of Korea. The whole world should deeply study and learn from the example of the power of the Korean people, who pursued peace without retaliating despite being invaded a thousand times over the course of approximately 3,000 years of Korean history. In our view, the command to be fruitful, multiply, and conquer is a command to multiply on the whole earth when there were no people on the earth at first. I believe that it is the strong will of Jesus that if a people or nation already occupies the land and lives there, they should not invade it carelessly. We preach this message to establish a powerful kingdom of Jesus in which all peoples of the earth live in peace.
It is very important to know who the true owner and true ruler of myself, my land, my home, and everything else we enjoy is. This is because if you lean on something you cannot rely on, and entrust your precious life to something you cannot live with, destruction awaits you and hell awaits you. In particular, the believing people of God are beings who always have to choose between the rule of the world and the rule of God.
Each nation (state of the world) is a powerful group with a very well-established governance system. The Constitution is well-organized, and in order to embody this Constitution, various subordinate laws are well-made according to procedures, and the people are well educated to follow these laws. And there are well-established systems and institutions to punish those who break the law, including the police, judicial system, and authorities. And most countries have powerful armies to fight against other countries. In this current governance system, all citizens of that country born in that country learn to be loyal to that country and naturally accept the path of patriotism as a good path. That is why citizens of every country obey the laws of that country, serve in the military, have jobs, and get married.
Non-believers live perfectly believing that living like this is a good life. However, we who believe in Jesus hope for heaven, not the kingdom of this earth, and live under His rule on this earth with God as our Father and Jesus as our Lord. And, as it is His Law, we must learn and keep the Law that I mentioned earlier.
Here we always have to make a choice. If you live the world's way by buying a house, buying land, and increasing your wealth, in a capitalist society, no matter how much you have, if it is legal, no one can argue about it. However, as you saw earlier, if a person possesses excessive wealth that prevents his neighbors from having houses or land, he is subject to severe punishment under God's Law, and if he goes too far, he commits a sin that will lead to death and even hell.
However, if you do not know the Law and do not practice learning and keeping the Law due to doctrine, you may not be able to enter heaven as Jesus warned, and even if you go to heaven, you may have to live as an extremely small person forever.
We must live with God primarily as our father, as our master at home, as our master at work, and of course in the church as the master of the church, and in the nation, no matter what the state's claims or constitution says, we must live with Jesus as our master. And we must not always forget that we are beings who must live according to His will. It is very important for believers to believe in Jesus and succeed and live well in the world with the help of Jesus. And Jesus also gives various blessings to his people. But we must also not neglect to work with Him to establish His kingdom on this earth and pursue His righteousness.
We must enjoy receiving His rule at home, at church, at work, and as citizens. Jesus' rule can be done as he pleases, but most of the time, it is ruled by law, that is, ruled by the Law. Israel's 1,000-year history clearly proves that God ruled Israel based on the Law. And that rule was based on love, justice, and trust, and fairness and equity were also central. He established a king according to the petitions of the people who wanted to establish a king. God allowed the people, along with the priests, prophets, and officials who ruled the country, to live within the established borders of Israel, observing each other and their clan or tribe boundaries, so that no one was without a home or land. God made sure that the Israelites of the Old Testament kept the Laws by giving them abundant blessings if they kept the Laws and punishing them if they broke them. In the kingdom of God, God is king. However, the Israelites also demanded a king of the world.
When David became king, he enjoyed the greatest glory in Israel's history. He was victorious in all wars, there was as much gold and silver in Israel as there were stones along the road, and everyone from the king to the people guarded the territory designated by God and kept the Law. Since God wanted to remember David and give him 1,000 generations of blessings, we must understand God's desire for humans to keep the Law.
At the time of David, Israel was a small country, but it was orderly by keeping the Law and had hundreds of thousands of strong armies. However, at the time of David, Israel did not go beyond its borders and expand its territory by plundering weak countries around it, something no king on earth had done. In the era of the New Testament, Jesus came and became king himself, seeking to create such a blessed nation on the entire earth. And during David's time, everyone from the king to the priests, prophets, officials, and people kept God's Law, that is, obeyed God's will, and God himself became his army and won every battle. David's early war of conquest of Israel was a war waged against an evil nation according to God's command.
We must accept this reign of God as it is in our personal lives, and in our homes too, we must allow God, that is, Jesus, to rule as the Lord, and of course the reign of Jesus must also take place in the church. I believe that even if only about 3% of the country's citizens live like this, the country will be able to live justly and peacefully because it will fulfill the role of salt and light. We are God's people chosen to serve as that 3% of light and salt. It is a metaphor for the vast ocean being salty with a salt ratio of 3%.
We pray and donate to Jesus, asking him to bless us, but if we always break the Law and ask for blessings, sin will stop us. First, we must ensure that our lives are worthy of His rule. His rule is written in every letter of the Law. First, love God and neighbors. And he told believers to love each other passionately. It means loving like the saints of the early church. That is the spirit of the Law, and Jesus came and personally told us to do so. The kingdom of God is not a country where individualism reigns, but a kingdom of community.
The teachings of the New Testament are no different from the teachings of the Old Testament. The most important passage for the Israelites is found in Deuteronomy chapter 6 and is called the Shema. Let's see
Deuteronomy 6:1 These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
2. so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.
3. Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you.
4. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
5. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
6. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.
7. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
9. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
This verse has the most important application to us in the New Testament. Loving God is the basis of a believer. God loved us first. He is the love who gave his only begotten Son to wash away our sins. And Jesus loved us by obeying God until death. That is why we must love God, love Jesus, and earnestly desire the Holy Spirit even more than the chosen Israel of the Old Testament. This is the most basic duty of all believers.
It took me a lot of time and many trials to understand and share this verse. There are many trials that I have suffered because I did not live according to this verse. First, my first wife packed her things and left when I got back from church. I was unable to accept or understand this fact, and was so shocked that I lived a life of resignation, depression and insomnia for four years. And by giving me a new wife, I did my best to prevent something like this from happening again, and my mother and younger brother also put in a lot of effort and supported me and my wife non-stop, even financially. However, after 20 years of remarriage, a family crisis arose, and until this point, I lived without acknowledging God's sovereignty and ownership of my family. My first wife left me because I was too negligent, and with my second wife, I and my family did our best, but we were unable to serve the most important person, the Lord, as the master of our home.
Therefore, I lived a life of faith without being able to acknowledge Jesus as my own Lord or as the Lord who rules the whole world. And I lived without receiving the verse about loving God so earnestly. However, because I repented, believed in Jesus, and received the Holy Spirit, I always felt the need to evangelize, read the Bible, organize (summarize), and live according to God's will, but I did not know specifically how to live that way. I believed that God would definitely bless me if I attended church well, donated well, preached without ceasing, and read and meditated on the Bible day and night. However, when my first marriage failed and everything I did failed, and my second marriage also faced difficulties, I looked into what I had done wrong and realized that I still did not serve Jesus as the Lord of my family, nor did I serve Him as my own Lord. , and living in a country, I was lacking in the aspect of saying that no matter what the country says, my master is Jesus. It took me many years to know these things.
And I had no understanding or sense of urgency about the Law, which was the foundation of His rule. I was dominated by the thought that if I just received the Holy Spirit and evangelized, I would be doing everything according to God's will. However, when the blessings did not come, I was poor for a long time, and my work failed, I finally came to acknowledge the existence of the Law and have hope for the kingdom of God through long suffering in a low position. This is a condensed explanation of about 40 years of religious life. The words of Ezekiel Chapter 36 were later understood in order.
This is the beginning of my understanding of the kingdom that believers must build together and with Jesus on this earth, not heaven, where we go when we die. And I found myself hating his rule. I focused all my efforts on doing what my wife wanted at home, but I didn't have much interest in Jesus ruling our home, and I even refused to let Jesus come between me and my wife. Then, I went through another family crisis, learned about the Law, and meditated on loving God and loving Jesus. One day, while I was working in the field recently, I asked Jesus to become the master of my family and correct my difficult situation. I started praying. And I came to believe that Jesus should be the Lord of our family and rule, and in the same way, I recognized that Jesus should be the Lord in the area of my life, that the church should be the same, and that the nation should also be ruled in this way. My wife ran away and I suffered greatly, and now my family would be at peace if I devoted myself to my new wife, but I could not rely on the Lord or serve Him as the master of my family. And the existence of the Law, the sense of relief it brings, love for God, and hope for the kingdom came into my faith one after another.
It took a lot of time, a lot of hardship, and a lot of frustration to come to this conclusion. Since I always called Jesus Lord from the beginning, I could have recognized him as the ruler of my life and lived according to Jesus' will, but I failed to do so. I didn't know much about the Bible or the Law, so I could have done that, but I couldn't simply believe in and follow Jesus like the disciples of his time. And since I am learning by devoting a lot of time and suffering, it is wise not to do the same as me, but to believe right away and live according to the will of the Lord.
After the Israelites left Egypt and wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, they learned not to live by bread alone, but by the words that come from the mouth of God (pillar of cloud during the day and pillar of fire at night). It is no different from this, I received the Holy Spirit and learned this through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The past 40 years were extremely poor. Still, I graduated from two graduate schools and got married twice. My clothes were not torn and I did not skip any meals. The shoes didn't even break up. And I preached without stopping and read and summarized the Bible without stopping. And I constantly tried to live as I wanted and failed in everything I tried to do to make a living. And Almighty God watched this entire process and allowed me to discuss law and government.( rule)
And we saw that the rule was according to the Law. Because I came to believe in God's love, goodness, faithfulness, and justice, and came to trust and praise the Law, I came to know that it is very good and right for Jesus to rule over all of us.
I say I believe in Jesus and have been devoting my mind to evangelism for at least 20 years. And I also spent at least 25 years reading and summarizing the Bible. And only after meditating on, trusting, and praising the Law can I finally acknowledge that the reign of Jesus in all areas of our lives can make us the most happy.
Please don't be slow like me and do it quickly. Apostle Paul did just that, and all of Jesus' disciples did just that. I hope everyone will believe in Jesus as Lord and immediately live according to Jesus’ will.
If my family had not had many problems, I would never have acknowledged Jesus like this. If my life had been rich and full of things, and I had passed the civil service exam and worked in a high-ranking position in the world, I would never have understood the value of the Law. And if I had not read and summarized the Bible for a long time, I would never have come to this truth.
And the Lord was always with me and encouraged me when I was weak. “I love you. You are my dream. Don’t worry. Be strong.” He always said this to me without ceasing so that I could hear and understand. Hearing the voice of Jesus directly like this without stopping is very powerful, and sometimes surprising and amazing. And the Holy Spirit gave me the joy of constantly reading and understanding the Bible in my poor life, and the joy was great. Thanks to God's devastating love and Jesus' presence, 40 years of poverty passed by in a flash.
As I have already told you many times, I was doing a background check to work at the U.S. Embassy, and the inspector asked me to bring in my 20 years of income statements, so I went to the National Tax Service. Looking at the 20 years that statistics have been recorded using this data, an income of approximately 80 million won was calculated as total income. Dividing this by 20 years and dividing it by 12, I could see that I had survived for 20 years with an income of about 400,000 won per month. Despite these difficulties, I graduated from two graduate schools, got married twice, rarely wore worn-out clothes or worn-out shoes, and never went hungry, so I also experienced life in the wilderness for 40 years in Israel.
And I believe that the love and grace I have received from God cannot be expressed in words as I have become a person who has preached this message to professors at famous universities all over the world. Poverty and hard work are only temporary, and the glory of understanding and sharing the truth of the Word is so great that I hope everyone can do this.
God governs this world, determines the fate of nations, establishes and abolishes kings and powerful figures, and governs the life and death of individuals, as well as misfortune and blessing. He presides over history. And his Son, Jesus, the King of kings, will return to carry out the final judgment and create a new heaven and earth. And the resurrected people who believe in Jesus will live there and rule for eternity.
We must rejoice, believe, and accept God's reign, and acknowledge, honor, and serve Jesus as the Lord of individuals, families, groups, and nations.
Jesus is fully qualified and powerful. The question is whether we acknowledge Him as Lord over all areas of our lives and joyfully accept His rule.
When you die, you can go there and enjoy life in heaven without even knowing what it is. However, as we live in this world, we walk with Jesus and establish his kingdom on this earth according to the contents of his Bible. We recognize His power and authority in all things, believe in His love and justice, trust in Him, and joyfully accept His rule. If you live like this and go to heaven, you will find that heaven is also a place like this. However, in a place that cannot be compared to this place where there is no toil, no pain, no old age, no sickness, and no death, we will see and praise the glorious Lord every day.
When God came about 38 years ago, I prayed that God would use me as a His tool, even though I didn't even know what a tool meant. And I didn't know what I had to do actively to become God's tool, and I was a disloyal person who didn't prepare hard enough to live as God's tool. How bad of a life have I lived because I asked God for a favor and didn't make an effort to live up to that request? The Holy Spirit moved me and gave me the joy and passion of preaching the gospel and the joy of understanding the Word, and my failure in everything gave me a desire to succeed in a certain field. And the Lord encouraged me without ceasing. And my mother, my brother, and everyone I met loved me. Everyone at Jamsil Church helped me. So, as I spread this message to the whole world, you may not know that I have become a tool.
The Lord of all church members is Jesus, and as the King of kings, Jesus rules over the universe, saints, and all things. He desperately wants to establish his kingdom on this earth. And he first gave us the Law and wants to establish it according to that Law. When we keep the Law well, the kingdom of God comes. So, we must learn and master the Law well in order to live according to the Law. Not only His kingdom but also His righteousness (justice) is well expressed in the Law. And with the coming of Jesus, we must understand well the righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus. And along with the love shown on the cross, we must also understand His righteousness (justice).
In every world, Jesus rules to correct broken people, broken families, broken groups, and nations. Recognizing Jesus as Lord from the beginning and receiving His rule at home and at church is the best way to reduce all mistakes, frustration, and misfortune.
I pray earnestly that the Lord's reign will spread to me, my family, my workplace, our country, and the whole world. And may His Law be well enforced as the foundation of His rule.
The biggest, most important, and greatest gift we must receive by believing in Jesus is the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes and regenerates us. We leave our bodies as they are, but our minds are created anew. The Trinity God jointly carries out this creation. A person newly created in this way is a new creation. And as a workmanship of God, this person's characteristics make him a witness of the gospel like Apostle Paul. And like the apostles and saints of the early church, we love each other passionately, without thinking about what is yours or what is mine, and strive to gather together, joyfully receive the Word, worship together, and live good lives. Apostle Paul called these people saints and believers. And among these, those who believed without change for a long time, like Abraham, were justified, and those who lived righteously, like Habakkuk, were also justified. Paul is not justifying anyone, but arguing that God justifies believers.
The Holy Spirit regenerates us, softens our hearts, and enables us to keep the Law. This is because the country where the Law is well kept becomes the country of righteousness, peace, and joy, that is, the kingdom of God on earth. I earnestly pray that His kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy will be established on this earth in the Holy Spirit and that His will will be accomplished quickly.
Every church is an ark of salvation that fulfills God’s will. The captain is always Jesus and we are all brothers and sisters. A shepherd must love, nurture, and care for this flock, and guide them to live a good life by spreading the gospel in the world. So, first, the shepherd must receive the Holy Spirit and guide all believers to receive the Holy Spirit and live that way.
Saints must pray for their shepherd to become like this. During our short life of faith on this earth, the shape of our eternal life is determined. As we love the Triune God, love our brothers passionately, and love our neighbors as ourselves, we hope to find strength in praying together for the day when God's kingdom comes quickly to this earth and His Law is completed. And how good would it be if, like me, you do not become a person who believes like this while suffering slowly, but believe and act quickly? I believe that there are many people who are already pleasing to God by loving Him much more than I do, delighting in His Law, and delighting in the guidance of His Holy Spirit. Please pray for me as I am running late.
Hallelujah! Dear Lord, I thank you for constantly encouraging and forgiving those who are ignorant, lazy, and stubborn, and for allowing me to spread your will to the whole world. And we praise God for His great love and justice. We praises and testifies to the Law given by the Lord to all mankind. Lord. Let justice flow like a river through this land! We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus. amen
