- Backing and tie : stud backing with sheet metal
- Minimum tie : 22 U.S. gage(0.0299 in) * 7/8in. wide
- Airspace : Nominal 1 in. between sheathing and veneer

# Weepholes(IRC2018.703.8.6)
: Weepholes shall be provided in the outside wythe of masonry walls at a maximum spacing of 33 inches(838mm)
on center. weepholes shall be less than 3/16 inch(5mm) in diameter.
** weepholes shall be located immediately above the flashing.
#Flashing(IRC2018.703.8.5)
: Flashing shall be located beneath the first course of masonry above finished ground level above the foundation
wall or slab

#Veneer ties, if sheet metal, shall be not less than no.22 U.S. gage by[(0.0299 inch) (0.76mm)]
Each tie shall support not more than 2.67 spuare feet of wall area and shall be spaced not more than 32 inches(813mm) on center horizontally and 24 inches(635mm) on center vertically.(IRC2018.703.8.4.1)
*Exception : In Seismic Design Category Do, D1, or D2, each tie shall support not more than 2 square feet(0.2m2) of wall area.

# Anchorage : Masonry veneer shall be anchored to the supporting wall studs with corrosion-resistant metal ties
embedded in mortar or grout and extending into the veneer a minmum of 1.5 inches(38mm),
with not less than 5/8 inches(15.9mm) mortar or grout cover to outside face.
