서울 은평과 여의도, 관악을 잇는 ‘서부선’ 경전철 사업이 또다시 표류하게 됐다. 2034년 개통도 불투명해졌다. 서울시는 1일 “서부선 민간투자 사업의 우선협상대상자인 두산건설 컨소시엄과 협상을 중단하고 우선협상대상자 지위를 취소한다”고 밝혔다. 두산 측이 약속한 기한까지 출자자를 구하지 못했기 때문이다. 서울시는 “우선협상대상자를 새로 선정해 사업을 빨리 추진하겠다”며 “사업비를 1조5000억원에서 2조2500억원으로 늘리는 것도 검토하겠다”고 밝혔다.

However, after GS Engineering & Construction abandoned the project, it was converted to a government-funded model in 2024.
