31 Jesus went on to say, 예수께서 말하려고 가셨다.

“To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation?

그러면 무엇에 내가 이 세대의 사람들을 비교할 수 있을까?

What are they like?그들은 무엇과 같은가?

32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other: 

그들은 시장에 앉아서 서로를 부르고 있는 아이들과 같다.

“ ‘We played the pipe for you, 우리는 너희를 위해 피리를 연주한다.

and you did not dance; 그러나 너희는 춤추지 않는다.

we sang a dirge(애가), and you did not cry.’우리는 애가를 노래하지만 너희는 애곡하지 않는다.

33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine,

세례 요한이 와서 빵을 먹거나 포도주를 마시지 않았다.

and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ 그리고 너희는 말한다. "그는 귀신들렸다.'

34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say,

인자가 와서 먹고 마시면 너희는 말한다.

‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’

여기 탐식가와 술주정뱅이, 세리들과 죄인들의 친구가 있다.

35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children.”

그러나 지혜는 그 모든 자녀들에 의해 바르게 증명된다.

Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman 죄인 여자에게 기름부음을 받으신 예수

36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him,

바리새인들 중에 한 사람이 그의 저녁식사 자리에 예수를 초대했다.

he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.

그는 바리새인의 집으로 가서 그 식탁에 몸을 기울였다.

37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, 그 마을에 죄악된 삶을 살았던 한 여인이 예수께서 바리새인의 집에서 잡숫고 계시다는 것을 알았다.

so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume.

그래서 그녀는 설화백고 향수 항아리를 가지고 거기에 왔다.

38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping,

그녀가 울면서 그의 발이 있는 그의 뒤에 서서 

she began to wet his feet with her tears. 그녀는 그녀의 눈물로 그의 발을 적셨다.

Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

그때 그녀는 머리 카락으로 그 발들을 닦고 그 발들에 입맞추고 그 발에 향수를 부었다.

39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this,

그를 초대했던 바리새인이 이것을 보았을 때, 

he said to himself, 그는 그 자신에게 말했다.

“If this man were a prophet, 만일 이 사람이 선지자였다면 

he would know who is touching him 그는 그를 만지고 있는 사람이 누구인지 알았을 것이며 

and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”

그녀가 어떤 부류의 여자인지, 즉 그녀가 죄인인지 알았을 것이다. 

40 Jesus answered him, 예수께서 그에게 대답하셨다.

“Simon, I have something to tell you.” 시몬아, 내가 너에게 말할 것이 있다."

“Tell me, teacher,” he said. "말씀하십시오, 선생님", 그가 말했다.
