은행관련 영어 표현
미국에는 saving account(저축용 계좌) 이외에 checking account(결제용 계좌)를 가지고 있다.
미국에서는 각종 utility bill(공공요금)납부와 credit card(신용카드)결제를 personal check(개인수표)로하기
때문에 이것이 없이는 생활이 거의 불가능하다. 개인 수표를 발행하기 위해 필요한 계좌가 바로 checking account이고 이것은 계좌 소유주의 개인수표를 발행하는 데만 사용된다. savings account의 경우는balance(잔고)와
transaction(거래) 실적에 따라 interest(이자)가 붙게(accrue)되지만 checking account는 무이자이고 오히려
사용료가 붙는다. 은행에는 account(계좌)를 개설할 때는 teller(창구직원)에게 간단한 신청서와 ID(신분증)를 제시면 즉시 bankbook(통장)을 발급받게 된다. 두 사람이 하나의 계좌를 원할 땐 joint account(공동 계좌)도 만들 수 있다.
우리와 달리 은행 측에서 매달 우편으로 bank statement(예금 내역서)를 고객에게 발송하므로 통장이 별 소용이 없다.
예금할 (deposit)때는 deposit slip(입금표)에 금액과 본인의 signature(서명)를 적어 창구에 제출한다.
인출하는 (withdrew) 경우에도 withdrawal slip(예금 청구서)을 사용하여 동일한 방식대로 한다.
