Bible Matrix ⑦: Historical & Scientific Views on Daniel and Revelation
Part 2. Revelation
Revelation 4 - Throne in Heaven and Worship in Heaven(c.AD 8,580~)
Revelation 4:1~8 - Throne in Heaven at Scorpio(AD 8,580~)
Revelation 4:3 – (2) And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne
☞ Revelation 4:3 - And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne.(NIV); And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.(KJV); The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones - like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow.(NLT); The one sitting there was as beautiful as precious stones, like jasper and carnelian. All around the throne was a rainbow with clear colors like an emerald.(ERB)
○ As I already mentioned in Bible Matrix ⑦_214, at this time, ‘white clothing’ refer to the clothes of God the Father or Jesus Christ, which are noble, righteous, clean, holy, and shining heavenly (or celestial) clothes. Specifically, it refers to spacesuits that shine white. As I already mentioned in Bible Matrix ⑦_212/274, the atmosphere and environment of the ‘Asteroid Belt’, or the ‘sky’, or ‘heaven’ is different from that of the 10th heaven (or celestial system), and the temperature is cold at -272.14 degrees Celsius, so God also must wear a spacesuit.
○ The meaning of ‘appearance’ in “the one who sat there had the appearance(NIV)” means that even John could not see the face of God the Father directly. The face of God the Father can be seen directly by anyone who may enter the ‘New Jerusalem’ as written in Revelation 22:4, it reads, “They will see his face”. That is why John also could not see the face of God the Father, so he expressed it as an ‘appearance.’ “God is light” (1 John 5:1). Therefore, the appearance is ‘light itself’, and so, John expressed as ‘brilliant as gemstone’ such like jasper, carnelian, and emerald.
○ No one has yet seen the face of God the Father directly until they enter the ‘New Jerusalem’ and see the face of God the Father (Revelation 22:4). Only Jesus, who came from God the Father, saw God the Father directly (John 1:18, 6:46). Therefore, there is no way to express the face of God the Father, so the face of God the Father is ineffable.
○ This is the same in the chapter 22 of 2 Enoch, where Enoch arrived in the 10th heaven and saw the Lord, that is, God the Father. Here, too, he only saw the appearance of the face of the Lord. Enoch expressed, “the appearance is like iron made to glow in fire, and brought out, emitting sparks, and it' burns,” and “the Lord’s face is ineffable, marvelous and very awful, and very, very terrible”.
