대한민국 임시의정원

대한민국 임시의정원은 오늘날의 국회에 해당하는 입법기구로, 1919년 4월 10일 상하이에서 만
들어졌다. 임시의정원 제1회 회의에서 국호를 '대한민국'으로 정하고 국무총리와 국무원을 선출
하였으며 임시정부의 헌법인 임시헌장을 제정하여 대한민국 임시정부를 탄생시켰다.
이후 임시정부의 행정 업무를 관리 감독하고, 정부의 예산과 결산을 심의.의결하는 등 27년간
입법부로서의 역할을 수행하며 의회정치의 기틀을 다졌다.


The Korean Provisional Assembly, created in Shanghai on April 10, 1919, was a legislative body
corresponding to the presentday National Assembly of Korea. The Provisional Assembly decided
to give the newly established Korean state its current name, Republic of Korea, at its first general
meeting, elected the Prime Minister and the Council of State, and enacted the Korean Provisional
Charter, which was the constitution of the provisional govemment.
