Friends, I want that, we’ve to be like!

Dear friends, everyone have his or her ideal. When I was a child my dad was my hero. When I go to school my teacher become my ideal. Different times my favorite people changed but my dad is always my hero even though he is not alive. When I read the Holy Bible, I read about the lots of heroes. Who has wonderful characters and walk with the Lord whole heartedly. When I arrived in South Korea I met my mentor Rev. Dr. Sung Kyu Choi, he became my hero, I tried to be like him.

1st. Chronicles 22 : 19

Now seek the Lord your God wholeheartedly and with your entire being! Get up and build the sanctuary of the Lord God! Then you can bring the ark of the Lord's covenant and the holy

items dedicated to God's service into the temple that is built to honor the Lord.

Today, I want to share few Heros of the Holy Bible and I want that we should be like them.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I need, you need, we need to be like!

1. I, we, need strength of Samson.

After the death of Joshua God deputed Judges to lead Israelites. The most powerful man in Holy Bible, Samson became the judge of Israelites. Samson fall in the love of Delilah and disobeyed God. Philistines took his both eyes and threw Samson into jail. In Jail blind Samson repented and God forgave him and restored his power and Samson killed majority of Philistines.

Judges 16 : 29 ~ 30

Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived.

Judges 14 : 6 (Samson killed the young lion) - Judges 15 : 15 (Samson killed 1000 men with jaw bone)

Judges 16 : 3 (Samson broke gate with both posts and took to hill)

2. I, we, need wisdom of king Solomon.

Friends, the wisest king of Holy Bible is Solomon the son of David. I wish and pray that everyone of us be like king Solomon & have wisdom like Solomon & have un-limited blessings of the Lord.

1st. Kings 3 : 11 ~ 13

So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for both wealth and honor so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings.

Solomon never ask for long life, health, wealth or disaster for his enemies but Solomon only ask for the wisdom. We’ve to ask for discerning heart. (1st. Kings 3 : 9) If we’ll have discerning

heart, if we’ll have wisdom. We can earn money, we can overcome all trials & sufferings.

3. I, we, need patience of Job.

Friends, I strongly wish and pray that everyone of us have patience like Job. He was righteous and rich person but within a day Job lost everything. His health, wealth, all assets, children everything. cause of sores in his body hard to scratch, but Job never lost his faith. Even his wife & friends led him on wrong way but Job never lost his patience. Job always wait and praised God in all ways.

Job 1 : 20 ~ 22

At this, Job got up & tore his robe & shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship & said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb & naked I will depart. The Lord gave & the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

Job 2 : 9 ~ 10 (Job’s wife diverted his faith)

His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!” He replied,

“You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”

Job 23 : 10 ~ 12 (Patience of Job)

But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed His steps; I have kept to His way without turning aside. I have not departed from the commands of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread.

We need to be like Job in our patience. Job defeated the Devil in his pains and trials by faith.

4. I, we, need courage of David.

Friends, king Saul was tall and strong. King Saul and Israelites were felt fear of Goliath and hide to face Goliath. Long forty days, Goliath came and shouted come and fight. But everyone afraid.

1st. Samuel 17 : 24 ~ Whenever the Israelites saw the man, they all fled from him in great fear.

But we read the courage of David. David faced Goliath cause David trust in the living Lord.

1st. Samuel 17 : 45 ~ 47

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword & spear & javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down & cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds & the wild animals, & the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s & He will give all of you into our hands.”

David has courage to face Goliath cause David has faith in living Lord & he killed Goliath.

5. I, we, need passion of evangelism of Paul.

There’s no one who do not know Apostle Paul. Thirteen books of the New Testament are attributed to the Apostle Paul. Paul devote his life for the Lord Jesus. Wherever Paul go, he preached Jesus.

2nd. Corinthians 11 : 23 ~ 27

Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, & been exposed to death again & again. Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; & in danger from false believers.

I have labored and toiled & have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger

& thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.

Friends, don’t feel shy to evangelize. Evangelism is very last command of Jesus to His followers.

Matthew 28 : 19 ~~ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,

6. I, we, need be like Jesus.

Friends, lastly I want that everyone of us be like Jesus. The Son of God, who died and suffered on Cross, risen from deads & gave us new life. He’s sitting on the right hand of God & coming soon.

Hebrews 12 : 2

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer & perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He

endured the cross, scorning its shame, & sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Conclusion:-

                     I strongly wish & pray that everyone of us be like Jesus. Our Savior, Redeemer, friend & Son of God.

Romans 5 : 8

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

우리가 닮아야 하는 그것

우리는 모두 이상을 갖고 있습니다. 저는 어렸을 때 아버지가 제 영웅이었습니다. 학교에 다닐 때에는 선생님이 제 이상이 되었습니다. 좋아하는 사람이 여러 번 바뀌었지만 아버지는 살아계시지 않을지라도 언제나 저의 영웅입니다. 저는 성경을 읽을 때 수많은 영웅에 대해 읽었는데 그들은 훌륭한 성품을 가졌고 전심으로 주님과 동행했습니다. 제가 한국에 도착했을 때 제 멘토이신 최성규 목사님을 만났는데 그분이 제 영웅이 되었고 저는 그분을 닮으려 했습니다.

역대상 22 : 19

이제 너희는 마음과 뜻을 바쳐서 너희 하나님 여호와를 구하라 그리고 일어나서 여호와 하나님의 성전을 건축하고 여호와의 언약궤와 하나님 성전의 기물을 가져다가 여호와의 이름을 위하여 건축한 성전에 들이게 하라 하였더라.

오늘, 저는 성경의 몇몇 영웅에 대해 나누고자 하며 우리가 그들을 닮기 원합니다.

주 안에 있는 형제자매 여러분, 저도, 여러분도, 우리는 닮을 필요가 있습니다.

1. 저와 우리는 삼손의 힘이 필요합니다.

여호수아가 죽은 후에 하나님은 이스라엘을 인도하는 것을 사사에게 위임하셨습니다. 성경에서 가장 힘이 센 사람인 삼손이 이스라엘의 사사가 되었습니다. 삼손은 들릴라와 사랑에 빠져 하나님께 불순종했습니다. 블레셋 사람들은 삼손의 두 눈을 뽑아 그를 감옥에 던졌습니다. 눈이 먼 삼손은 감옥에서 회개했고 하나님은 그를 용서하셨으며 그의 힘을 회복시키셨고 삼손은 수많은 블레셋 사람을 죽였습니다.

사사기 16 : 29 ~ 30

삼손이 집을 버틴 두 기둥 가운데 하나는 왼손으로 하나는 오른손으로 껴 의지하고 삼손이 이르되 블레셋 사람과 함께 죽기를 원하노라 하고 힘을 다하여 몸을 굽히매 그 집이 곧 무너져 그 안에 있는 모든 방백들과 온 백성에게 덮이니 삼손이 죽을 때에 죽인 자가 살았을 때에 죽인 자보다 더욱 많았더라.

사사기 14 : 6 삼손은 젊은 사자를 죽였습니다. - 사사기 15 : 15 삼손은 턱뼈로 1000명을 죽였습니다.

사사기 16 : 3 삼손은 성문과 두 문설주를 빼내어 언덕으로 가져갔습니다.

2. 저와 우리는 솔로몬 왕의 지혜가 필요합니다.

성경에서 가장 지혜로운 왕은 다윗의 아들인 솔로몬입니다. 저는 우리 모두가 솔로몬처럼 되며 솔로몬 같은 지혜를 얻고 주님의 무한한 축복을 받기를 축원하고 기도합니다.

열왕기상 3 : 11 ~ 13

이에 하나님이 그에게 이르시되 네가 이것을 구하도다 자기를 위하여 장수하기를 구하지 아니하며 부도 구하지 아니하며 자기 원수의 생명을 멸하기도 구하지 아니하고 오직 송사를 듣고 분별하는 지혜를 구하였으니 내가 네 말대로 하여 네게 지혜롭고 총명한 마음을 주노니 네 앞에도 너와 같은 자가 없었거니와 네 뒤에도 너와 같은 자가 일어남이 없으리라 내가 또 네가 구하지 아니한 부귀와 영광도 네게 주노니 네 평생에 왕들 중에 너와 같은 자가 없을 것이라.

솔로몬은 장수, 건강, 부유함이나 적들의 재앙을 구하지 않고 오직 지혜를 구했습니다.

우리는 분별하는 마음을 구해야 합니다. (열왕기상 3 : 9)

우리가 분별하는 마음을 갖고, 지혜를 얻는다면 돈을 벌 수 있고 모든 시험과 고난을 이길 수 있습니다.

3. 저와 우리는 욥의 인내가 필요합니다.

저는 우리 모두 욥과 같은 인내를 갖기를 강하게 축원하고 기도합니다. 그는 의롭고 부유한 사람이었지만 하루 만에 모든 것을 잃었습니다. 건강, 부유함, 모든 재산, 자녀, 모든 것을 말입니다.

몸의 종기 때문에 긁기도 어려웠지만 욥은 믿음을 잃지 않았습니다. 아내와 친구조차도 그를 잘못된 길로 이끌었지만 욥은 인내를 잃지 않았습니다. 욥은 항상 기다리며 모든 면에서 하나님을 찬양했습니다.

욥기 1 : 20 ~ 22

욥이 일어나 겉옷을 찢고 머리털을 밀고 땅에 엎드려 예배하며 이르되 내가 모태에서 알몸으로 나왔사온즉 또한 알몸이 그리로 돌아가올지라 주신 이도 여호와시요 거두신 이도 여호와시오니 여호와의 이름이 찬송을 받으실지니이다 하고 이 모든 일에 욥이 범죄하지 아니하고 하나님을 향하여 원망하지 아니하니라.

욥기 2 : 9 ~ 10 (욥의 아내는 그의 믿음을 돌리려 했습니다.)

그의 아내가 그에게 이르되 당신이 그래도 자기의 온전함을 굳게 지키느냐 하나님을 욕하고 죽으라 그가 이르되 그대의 말이 한 어리석은 여자의 말 같도다 우리가 하나님께 복을 받았은즉 화도 받지 아니하겠느냐.

욥기 23 : 10 ~ 12 (욥의 인내)

그러나 내가 가는 길을 그가 아시나니 그가 나를 단련하신 후에는 내가 순금 같이 되어 나오리라 내

발이 그의 걸음을 바로 따랐으며 내가 그의 길을 치우치지 아니하였고 내가 그의 입술의

명령을 어기지 아니하고 정한 음식보다 그의 입의 말씀을 귀히 여겼도다.

우리는 욥과 같은 인내가 필요합니다. 욥은 고통과 시험 중에 믿음으로 마귀를 이겼습니다.

4. 저와 우리는 다윗의 용기가 필요합니다.

사울 왕은 키가 크고 강했습니다. 사울 왕과 이스라엘 백성은 골리앗이 두려워 숨었습니다. 40일 동안 골리앗은 나와서 싸우자고 소리쳤습니다. 하지만 모든 사람이 두려워했습니다.

사무엘상 17 : 24

이스라엘 모든 사람이 그 사람을 보고 심히 두려워하여 그 앞에서 도망하며.

우리는 다윗의 용기를 읽을 수 있습니다. 다윗은 살아계신

하나님을 믿었기 때문에 다윗은 골리앗을 대면했습니다.

사무엘상 17 : 45 ~ 47

다윗이 블레셋 사람에게 이르되 너는 칼과 창과 단창으로 내게 나아오거니와 나는 만군의 여호와의 이름 곧 네가 모욕하는 이스라엘 군대의 하나님의 이름으로 네게 나아가노라 오늘 여호와께서 너를 내 손에 넘기시리니 내가 너를 쳐서 네 목을 베고 블레셋 군대의 시체를 오늘 공중의 새와 땅의 들짐승에게 주어 온 땅으로 이스라엘에 하나님이 계신 줄 알게 하겠고 또 여호와의 구원하심이 칼과 창에 있지 아니함을 이 무리에게 알게 하리라 전쟁은 여호와께 속한 것인즉 그가 너희를 우리 손에 넘기시리라.

다윗은 살아계신 하나님에 대한 믿음을 가졌기에 골리앗을 대면할 용기가 있었고 그는 골리앗을 죽였습니다.

5. 저와 우리는 바울의 전도 열정이 필요합니다.

사도 바울을 모르는 사람은 없습니다. 신약 성경의 13권이 사도 바울의 것으로 추정됩니다.

바울은 자신의 삶을 주 예수를 위해 바쳤습니다. 바울은 가는 곳마다 예수를 전했습니다.

고린도후서 11 : 23 ~ 27

그들이 그리스도의 일꾼이냐 정신없는 말을 하거니와 나는 더욱 그러하도다 내가 수고를 넘치도록 하고 옥에 갇히기도 더 많이 하고 매도 수없이 맞고 여러 번 죽을 뻔하였으니 유대인들에게 사십에서 하나 감한 매를 다섯 번 맞았으며 세 번 태장으로 맞고 한 번 돌로 맞고 세 번 파선하고 일 주야를 깊은 바다에서 지냈으며 여러번 여행하면서 강의 위험과 강도의 위험과 동족의 위험과 시내의 위험과 광야의 위험과 바다의 위험과 거짓 형제 중의 위험을 당하고 또 수고하며 애쓰고 여러번 자지 못하고 목마르고 여러번 굶고 춥고 헐벗었노라.

전도하는 것을 부끄러워하지 마십시오. 전도는 제자들에 대한 예수님의 맨 마지막 명령입니다.

마태복음 28 : 19 ~~~ 그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아

6. 저와 우리는 예수를 닮아야 합니다.

마지막으로 우리 모두 예수를 닮기 원합니다. 하나님의 아들이 십자가에서 죽으시고 고통당하시고 우리에게 새 생명을 주시려고 죽음에서 일어나셨습니다. 그분은 하나님 우편에 앉아계시고 곧 오십니다.

히브리서 12 : 2

믿음의 주요 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자 그는 그 앞에 있는 기쁨을 위하여

십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라.

결론 :-

우리 모두 우리의 구세주, 구속자, 친구이며 하나님의 아들이신 예수 닮기를 저는 강하게 축원하고 기도합니다.

로마서 5 : 8

우리가 아직 죄인 되었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여

죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에 대한 자기의 사랑을 확증하셨느니라.
