Moly, I just saw the most amazing play I have ever seen in my entire life,
but that is not saying much only because I haven't seen that many
plays, but it is incredible. From the context of
this sentence, I may be allowed to substitute 'it does not mean much'
for 'that is not saying much'.

well, you keep reading it until you begin to understand the meaning. Then,
you may also try to find words or phrases of similar meaning and try to
substitute the new one for the original one. That is how you build your
