Let us examine & compare our prayers.

Holy Bible is filled with the prayers of different people, prophets. And our Lord Jesus by Himself taught wonderful & powerful pray. “ The Lord’s Prayer.” Jesus taught, keep pray & not to give up.

Luke 18 : 1

Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray & not give up.

Friends, Jesus by Himself, time to time He prayed and taught His followers to pray & not give up. Friends, we trust in living God. He answer on His own way, on His own time. Just pray continually.

Friends, our God is listening, watching & He answer on His exact time. Neither before, nor later.

Exodus 3 : 7

The Lord said, I have indeed seen the misery of My people in Egypt. I have heard them

crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their sufferings.

Brothers and sisters, today let’s examine what kind of prayers God listen and answer.

1. The prayer of king Hezekiah.

Friends, what we’ve do in our sufferings. Do we turned our face towards a wall. It mean left everything a side Just God & us. Hezekiah remind God his faith & way of life. And he wept bitterly

2nd. Kings 20 : 2 ~ 3 (Wept bitterly = Repented) 【Hezekiah’s prayer】

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord. “Remember, Lord how

I walked before You faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have

done what is good in Your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

Friends, we have to fix our eyes on Jesus and focus our thoughts on Jesus.

Hebrews 3 : 1 Fix your thoughts on Jesus ---- Hebrews 12 : 2 Fixing our eyes on Jesus.

Let’s examine our lives do we walk with the Lord faithfully. Sometimes we obey & sometime we disobey.

It is tome to repent as Hezekiah repented. He wept bitterly. Known or un-known sins, “repent all”.

John 3 : 19

Repent, then and turn to God, so that your sins maybe

wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.

Hebrews 11 : 6

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to

Him must believe that He exits and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

2. The prayer of Hannah.

Hannah was barren. His husband loved him very much but he married with & other lady. Hannah always prayed & went to temple, living sacred life but her rival kept her provoking. Even though rival provoked, she never lost her faith. She went to temple every year & prayed with faith continually.

1st. Samuel 1 : 7

This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house

of the Lord, her rival provoked her till she wept and would not eat.

Hannah never complained. She always gave thanks & went temple continually. Finally God answered

1st. Samuel 2 : 1 & 5 (Hannah’s Prayer)

Then Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in Your deliverance. ~~~ Those who were full hire themselves out for food, but those who were hungry are hungry no more.

She who was barren has borne seven children but she who has had many sons pines away.

Wait & pray. Pray without complaining brought miracle. If we want to have miracle. Pray unceasingly.

Matthew 21 : 22 ~~ If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

3. The prayer of Jonah.

God called Jonah and sent him to Nineveh to preach but Jonah disobeyed & ran towards Tarshis.

God sent storm in the sea. Sailors threw Jonah into sea & a big fish swallowed him. Jonah prayed

Jonah 2 : 1 ~ 2

From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord His God. He said: “In my distress I called to the Lord & He answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help & you listened to my cry.

Inside the fish, Jonah repented and prayed with faith. In Jonah’s pray there was no doubt.

James 1 : 6

But when you ask, you must believe & not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea blown & tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

God taught a lesson of love for His people to Jonah through thunder storm and through a big fish.

God’s love is endless. Ninevites were stubborn & disobedient but God loved them and saved them.

4. The prayer of Jabez.

Friends, the meaning of Jabez is “Sorrow Maker.“ Bible is silent, why mother gave him name Jabez.

1st. Chronicles 4 : 9 ~ 10

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying “I gave birth to him in pain.“ Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, ”Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that

I will be free from pain.“ And God granted his request.

Brothers and sisters, Jabez never complain or grumble. Why God, why my mom called these kinds of hard & harsh words for me. Why, my mom gave this kind of name “which mean Sorrow.“

But friends, Jabez is not remembered for what he did but he is remembered for what he prayed.

① Lord, bless me. ② Lord, enlarge my territory.

③ Lord, let Your hand be with me. ④ Lord, keep me from harm.

He teaches us, strong faith in the Lord. Who blessed him & he became honorable among his brothers.

5. The prayer of Jesus Christ.

Friends, lastly I want to share with you the prayer of our Lord Jesus. Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane with His disciples. Jesus saw all the trials, what He was going to suffer with Spiritual eyes.

Matthew 26 : 39

Going a little farther, He fell with His face to the ground and prayed, “My Father,

if it is possible, may this cup be taken away from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.”

Friends, God is our creator. He knows us more than us. Even though Jesus is Son of God. God didn’t

answer His prayer. Imagine, if God, answer Jesus’s prayer. We all suppose to be thrown into hell.

John 3 : 16

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son,

that whoever believes in Him shall not persih but have eternal life.

Tell God your situation, tell God your circumstances. Let Him decide what to do & what not to do.

Conclusion :-

Everyone pray and want that God suppose to answer his/her prayer. Friends God is creator and He knows what is good for us and what is bad and why it’s bad. Sometime God answer and sometime God delayed. God answer or not don’t complain. God delayed or not answer for a special reason.

Matthew 7 : 11

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,

how much more will your Father in heaven give give gifts to those who ask Him!

Dear friends, today we’ve to examine our prayers. Why God not answer or He delayed. Amen

우리 기도를 점검하고 비교해 봅시다

성경은 여러 사람과 선지자들의 기도로 가득 차 있습니다. 그리고 우리 주 예수님은 대단하고 능력있는 기도를 몸소 가르치셨습니다. ‘주님의 기도’입니다. 예수님은 계속해서 기도하고 포기하지 말라고 가르치셨습니다.

누가복음 18 : 1 ~~~ 예수께서 그들에게 항상 기도하고 낙심하지 말아야 할 것을 비유로 말씀하여.

예수님은 때때로 기도하셨고 제자들에게 기도하고 포기하지 말라고 가르치셨습니다.

우리는 살아계신 하나님을 믿습니다. 그분은 그분의 방법대로 그분의 때에 응답하십니다. 계속해서 기도하십시오. 우리 하나님은 들으시고 바라보시며 전에도 후에도 아닌 그분의 정확한 때에 응답하십니다.

출애굽기 3 : 7

여호와께서 이르시되 내가 애굽에 있는 내 백성의 고통을 분명히

보고 그들이 그들의 감독자로 말미암아 부르짖음을 듣고 그 근심을 알고.

형제자매 여러분, 하나님께서 어떤 기도를 들으시고 응답하시는지 오늘 점검해 봅시다.

1. 히스기야 왕의 기도.

고통 중에 우리가 해야 할 일은 벽을 향하여 얼굴을 돌리는 것입니다. 모든 것을 떠나 하나님쪽으로만 향한다는 뜻입니다. 히스기야는 자신의 믿음과 삶의 방법을 하나님께 상기시켰습니다. 그리고 심히 통곡했습니다.

열왕기하 20 : 2 ~ 3 히스기야의 기도 (심히 통곡하다= 회개하다)

히스기야가 낯을 벽으로 향하여 여호와께 기도하여 이르되 여호와여 구하오니 내가 진실과 전심으로

주 앞에 행하며 주께서 보시기에 선하게 행한 것을 기억하옵소서 하고 히스기야가 심히 통곡하더라

우리는 눈을 예수께 고정하고 생각을 예수께 집중해야 합니다.

히브리서 3 : 1 예수를 깊이 생각하라 ~~~~ 히브리서 12:2 예수를 바라보자

신실하게 주님과 동행했는지 우리 삶을 점검합시다. 우리는 때로는 순종하고 때로는 불순종합니다. 히스기야가 회개한 것처럼 회개할 시간입니다. 그는 심히 통곡했습니다. 알거나 모르는 죄를 모두 회개하십시오.

사도행전 3 : 19 ~~ 그러므로 너희가 회개하고 돌이켜 너희 죄 없이 함을 받으라

이같이 하면 새롭게 되는 날이 주 앞으로부터 이를 것이요.

히브리서 11 : 6 ~~ 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 못하나니 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시

그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할지니라.

2. 한나의 기도.

한나는 임신할 수 없었습니다. 그녀의 남편은 그녀를 너무 사랑했지만 또 다른 여자와 결혼했습니다. 한나는 항상 기도하고 성전에 갔으며 거룩한 삶을 살았지만 그녀의 적수는 계속해서 그녀를 격분하게 했습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그녀는 믿음을 잃지 않았습니다. 그녀는 매년 성전에 가서 믿음으로 끊임없이 기도했습니다.

사무엘상 1 : 7

매년 한나가 여호와의 집에 올라갈 때마다 남편이 그같이

하매 브닌나가 그를 격분시키므로 그가 울고 먹지 아니하니.

한나는 불평하지 않았습니다. 그녀는 항상 감사했고 계속해서 성전에 갔습니다. 결국 하나님께서 응답하셨습니다.

사무엘상 2 : 1, 5 (한나의 기도)

한나가 기도하여 이르되 내 마음이 여호와로 말미암아 즐거워하며 내 뿔이 여호와로 말미암아 높아졌으며 내 입이 내 원수들을 향하여 크게 열렸으니 이는 내가 주의 구원으로 말미암아 기뻐함이니이다

풍족하던 자들은 양식을 위하여 품을 팔고 주리던 자들은 다시 주리지 아니하도다 전에

임신하지 못하던 자는 일곱을 낳았고 많은 자녀를 둔 자는 쇠약하도다.

기다리며 기도하십시오. 불평하지 않고 기도하면 기적이 찾아옵니다. 기적을 얻으려면 끊임없이 기도하십시오.

마태복음 21 : 22 ~~ 너희가 기도할 때에 무엇이든지 믿고 구하는 것은 다 받으리라 하시니라.

3. 요나의 기도.

하나님은 요나를 부르셔서 전하라고 니느웨로 보내셨으나 요나는 불순종하고 다시스로 달아났습니다. 하나님은 바다에 폭풍을 보내셨습니다. 선원들은 요나를

바다에 던졌고 큰 물고기가 그를 삼켰습니다. 요나는 기도했습니다.

요나 2 : 1 ~ 2

요나가 물고기 뱃속에서 그의 하나님 여호와께 기도하여 이르되 내가 받는 고난으로 말미암아 여호와께 불러 아뢰었더니 주께서 내게 대답하셨고 내가 스올의 뱃속에서 부르짖었더니 주께서 내 음성을 들으셨나이다

요나는 물고기 뱃속에서 회개했고 믿음으로 기도했습니다. 요나의 기도에는 의심이 없습니다.

야고보서 1 : 6 ~ 7

오직 믿음으로 구하고 조금도 의심하지 말라 의심하는 자는 마치 바람에 밀려

요동하는 바다 물결 같으니 이런 사람은 무엇이든지 주께 얻기를 생각하지 말라.

하나님은 폭풍우와 큰 물고기를 통하여 그분의 백성들에 대한 사랑의 교훈을 요나에게 가르치셨습니다.

하나님의 사랑은 끝이 없습니다. 니느웨 사람들은 완고하고 불순종했지만 하나님은 그들을 사랑하셔서 그들을 구하셨습니다.

4. 야베스의 기도.

야베스는 ‘슬프게 하는 자’란 뜻입니다. 왜 어머니가 그의 이름을 야베스라 지었는지 성경에는 언급이 없습니다.

역대상 4 : 9 ~ 10

야베스는 그의 형제보다 귀중한 자라 그의 어머니가 이름하여 이르되 야베스라 하였으니 이는 내가 수고로이 낳았다 함이었더라 야베스가 이스라엘 하나님께 아뢰어 이르되 주께서 내게 복을 주시려거든 나의 지역을 넓히시고 주의 손으로 나를 도우사 나로 환난을 벗어나 내게 근심이

없게 하옵소서 하였더니 하나님이 그가 구하는 것을 허락하셨더라.

형제자매 여러분, 야베스는 불평하거나 투덜대지 않았습니다. 하나님, 왜 어머니는 이런 힘들고 거슬리는 말로 나를 부릅니까? 왜 어머니는 슬픔이란 뜻의 이런 이름을 지어주었습니까?

하지만 야베스는 그가 한 일이 아니라 무엇을 기도할지를 기억했습니다.

① 주님, 저를 축복하소서. ~~~~~~~~~~~② 주님, 저의 지역을 넓게 하옵소서

③ 주님, 당신의 손이 나와 함께 하소서.~~~ ④ 주님, 나를 환난에서 지키소서

그는 주님에 대한 강한 믿음을 우리에게 가르칩니다. 주님이 그를 축복하셔서 형제 중에 존귀하게 되었습니다.

5. 예수 그리스도의 기도.

마지막으로 우리 주 예수님의 기도를 여러분과 나누고자 합니다. 예수님은 제자들과 함께 겟세마네 동산에서 기도하셨습니다. 예수님은 그분이 당할 모든 시험을 영의 눈으로 보셨습니다.

마태복음 26 : 39

조금 나아가사 얼굴을 땅에 대시고 엎드려 기도하여 이르시되 내 아버지여 만일 할 만하시거든

이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고.

하나님은 창조주이십니다. 그분은 우리를 우리보다 더 많이 아십니다.

예수님은 하나님의 아들임에도 불구하고 그분의 기도는 응답되지 않았습니다. 만일 하나님이 예수님의 기도에 응답하셨다고 상상해 보십시오. 우리는 모두 지옥에 던져졌을 것입니다.

요한복음 3 : 16 ~~~ 하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는

그를 믿는 자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라.

하나님께 여러분의 입장을 말하고 여러분의 상황을 말하십시오.

무엇을 하고 무엇을 하지 말것인지 그분이 결정하시도록 하십시오.

결론 :-

모든 사람들은 기도하고 하나님께서 기도에 응답하시기를 원합니다. 하나님은 창조주이시고 우리에게 좋은 것과 나쁜 것을 아십니다. 하나님은 때로는 응답하시고 때로는 미루십니다. 하나님이 응답하시든지 안하시든지 불평하지 마십시오. 하나님은 특별한 이유 때문에 미루시거나 응답하지 않으십니다.

마태복음 7 : 11 ~~ 너희가 악한 자라도 좋은 것으로 자식에게 줄 줄 알거든 하물며

하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 좋은 것으로 주시지 않겠느냐.

하나님께서 왜 응답하지 않으시거나 미루시는지 오늘 우리 기도를 점검해야 합니다. 아멘
