The government has imposed 50% export duty on molasses, a by-product of sugarcane and key ingredient for ethanol production, amid likely decline in sugar production in the current season. According to a finance ministry notification, the order will come into force from Jan. 18.
인도 정부는 설탕 생산량이 감소할 가능성이 있는 가운데 사탕수수의 부산물이자 에탄올 생산의 핵심 성분인 당밀에 대해 50%의 수출 관세를 부과했다. 기재부 고시에 따르면 이 명령은 1월 18일부터 시행된다.

The move is aimed at boosting the availability of molasses for domestic distilleries and help meet the government's ethanol blending target.
이러한 사항은 인도 내 당밀 생산성을 높이고 인도 정부의 에탄올 혼합 목표 달성을 위한 조치이다.

In the current year, the government aims to achieve 15% blending of ethanol with petrol for which 690 litres of ethanol would be required.
올해 인도 정부는 에탄올과 휘발유의 15% 혼합을 달성하는 것을 목표로 하고 있으며, 이를 위해서는 690리터의 에탄올이 필요한 상황이다

India exports molasses to countries including Vietnam, South Korea, the Netherlands and the Philippines. Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat are the three states which export molasses.
인도는 베트남, 한국, 네덜란드, 필리핀등의 국가에 당밀을 수출하고 있다. 

마하라슈트라, 카르나타카,구자라트는 당밀을 수출하는 대표적 3개주이다.
