Let us learn big lesson from a small person

There was a famous tax collector in Jericho, his name was Zacchaeus. Jews and Israelites didn’t like him. Even though he was Israelite, he didn’t spare anyone. In those days tax was collected, when somebody enter or leave the city. On each enterance or exit, everyone have to pay. Rich Tax collector collect tax & he became more rich. His wealth doesn’t work anymore. People did not like him & make distance from him. He felt so lonely & he did not found a way to overcome. He heard that Jesus has solution.

He heard is Jesus is coming in his town but because of small height unable to see Jesus.

Brothers and sisters today, this small person is going teach us a big lesson. Listen carefully.

1. Seek Jesus earnestly.

This small person (Zacchaeus) was so stressed and seek the solution of his loneliness but his all efforts were in vain. Finally, he heard about Jesus. He learned that Jesus has a solution of his all sufferings. He heard that Jesus is in his town. Jesus always covered with people and cause of his short height he was unable to see Jesus. Zacchaeus tried to reach Jesus but he all efforts were in vain.

Luke 19 : 3

He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd.

Even though Zacchaeus was so short but he was so intellectual. He found a way to see Jesus.

Matthew 7 : 7

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Brothers and sisters, if there is no way. Seek Jesus and He will make a way for you.

Jeremiah 33 : 3

‘Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Zacchaeus seek Jesus earnestly and he found a way to see Jesus.

2. Ready to climb a tree.

Small person or short heighted Zacchaeus overcame his height and climbed a tree to see Jesus.

Luke 19 : 5 ~ 6

When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up & said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately.

I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed Him gladly.

Nobody informed Jesus about the name of Zacchaeus. Nobody informed Jesus that Zacchaeus is waiting to see Jesus on the tree. Jesus knew everything. Jesus stopped right under the tree and called Zacchaues with his name and told him that He (Jesus) want to go Zacchaeus’s house.

Jesus knows our names and He calls us by name and want to come in our homes, in our lives, in our families. Let us welcome Jesus in our homes, in our lives. He is calling us. He is standing beside us.

John 10 : 3

The gatekeeper opens the gate for Him, and the sheep listen to

His voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

Isaiah 43 : 1

But now, this is what the Lord says He who created you, Jacob, He who formed you, Israel:

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

Here we can see small man never missed a single moment. He came down & took Jesus in his home.

3. Accept Jesus and follow Jesus practically not verbally.

Zacchaeus never made any arguments with Jesus. Small man took Jesus in his home very happily. He never said, Jesus today. I’ve to work or I have to see my friends. He didn’t made any arguments. Small man accept Jesus a as personal Savior and took Jesus in his home and obey Jesus commands.

Luke 19 : 5 ~ 6 & 8

When Jesus reached the spot, He looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately.

I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. - But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

4. Zacchaeus was saved.

Friends, as I said a while ago, Zacchaeus was saved. He took Jesus in his home. Only Zacchaeus was not saved. I am sure his family, his friends and his other tax collectors fellows were saved too.

Luke 19 : 9 ~ 10

Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too,

is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19 : 10 ~~~ For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

John 3 : 17

For God did not send His Son into the world to

condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

Friends, today it is our duty to reach others and give them Good News of Salvation. Amen

5. Let us be Zacchaeus of this Era.

Friends, today we have to be the Zacchaeus of this Era. Zacchaeus seek Jesus earnestly. He didn’t feel shy to climb the tree even though he was rich & having a prominent position or rank in the society. Brothers & sisters, let’s seek Jesus, let’s accept Jesus as our personal Savior. Let’s change ourselves totally.

2nd Corinthians 5 : 17 ~ 18

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ & gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

Let’s be the real Christian not the verbal Christian. Help, love, serve, forgive, make Harmony etc. etc,

Revelation 1 : 3

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are

those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Friends, to be a CHRISTIAN is not enough. We’ve to fulfill or obey God the Father’s command.

Matthew 7 : 21

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of

heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.

Conclusion :-

When we accept Jesus as our Savior. We have to be changed totally. Zacchaeus was totally changed.

“We can see money lover become money giver.“ Let’s follow Jesus & have the crown of life. eternal life.

Revelation 2 : 4 ~ 5

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far

you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent,

I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

Revelation 3 : 15 ~ 16

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!

So, because you are lukewarm neither hot nor cold I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

작은 사람으로부터 큰 교훈을 배웁시다

여리고에 유명한 세리가 있었는데 그의 이름은 삭개오였습니다. 유대인들과 이스라엘 사람들은 그를 좋아하지 않았습니다. 그는 이스라엘 사람임에도 불구하고 누구에게도 베풀지 않았습니다. 그 당시에는 누군가 성에 들어가거나 떠날 때 세금을 거두었습니다. 출입하거나 나갈 때마다 모든 사람은 지불해야 합니다. 부자 세리는 세금을 거두어 더욱 부유해졌습니다. 그의 재산은 더 이상 움직이지 않습니다. 사람들은 그를 좋아하지 않았고 그와 거리를 두었습니다. 그는 너무 외로웠고 극복할 방법을 찾지 못했습니다. 그는 예수에게 해법이 있다는 것을 들었습니다.

예수가 마을로 오고 있다는 것을 들었으나 작은 키 때문에 예수를 볼 수 없었습니다.

형제자매 여러분, 오늘 이 작은 사람이 우리에게 큰 교훈을 가르쳐줄 것입니다. 주의 깊게 들으십시오.

1. 간절하게 예수를 찾다.

이 작은 사람(삭개오)은 너무나 스트레스가 쌓여서 외로움의 해법을 찾았으나 모든 노력이 헛수고였습니다. 마지막으로 그는 예수에 대해 들었습니다. 모든 고통의 해법이 예수께 있다는 것을 알았습니다. 예수가 그의 마을에 있다는 것을 들었습니다. 예수님은 항상 사람들로 둘러싸여 있었고 그의 작은 키 때문에 예수를 볼 수 없었습니다. 삭개오는 예수께 다가가려 했으나 헛수고였습니다.

누가복음 19 : 3

그가 예수께서 어떠한 사람인가 하여 보고자 하되 키가 작고 사람이 많아 할 수 없어.

삭개오는 비록 키가 매우 작았지만 매우 총명했습니다. 예수를 볼 수 있는 방법을 찾아냈습니다.

마태복음 7 : 7

구하라 그리하면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그리하면

찾아낼 것이요 문을 두드리라 그리하면 너희에게 열릴 것이니.

형제자매 여러분, 방법이 없다면 예수를 찾으십시오. 그분이 여러분을 위해 방법을 만드실 것입니다.

예레미야 33 : 3

너는 내게 부르짖으라 내가 네게 응답하겠고 네가 알지 못하는 크고 은밀한 일을 네게 보이리라.

삭개오는 간절하게 예수를 찾았고 그는 예수를 볼 수 있는 방법을 찾아냈습니다.

2. 나무에 올라갈 준비를 하다.

키가 작은 삭개오는 키를 극복하고 예수를 보기 위해 나무에 올라갔습니다.

누가복음 19 : 5 ~ 6

예수께서 그 곳에 이르사 쳐다보시고 이르시되 삭개오야 속히 내려오라 내가

오늘 네 집에 유하여야 하겠다 하시니 급히 내려와 즐거워하며 영접하거늘.

아무도 삭개오의 이름을 예수께 알려드리지 않았습니다. 삭개오가 나무 위에서 예수를 보려고 기다리고 있다고 아무도 알려드리지 않았습니다. 예수님은 모든 것을 아셨습니다. 예수님은 그 나무 바로 아래에 멈추셔서 삭개오의 이름을 부르시며 그분(예수님)이 삭개오의 집에 가기를 원하신다고 말씀하셨습니다. 예수님은 우리의 이름을 아시고 우리를 이름으로 부르시며 우리 집에, 우리 삶에, 우리 가정에 오기를 원하십니다. 예수님이 우리 집에, 우리 삶에 들어오시게 합시다.

그분이 우리를 부르십니다. 그분이 우리 옆에 서 계십니다.

요한복음 10 : 3

문지기는 그를 위하여 문을 열고 양은 그의 음성을 듣나니 그가 자기 양의 이름을 불러 인도하여 내느니라.

이사야 43 : 1

야곱아 너를 창조하신 여호와께서 지금 말씀하시느니라 이스라엘아 너를 지으신 이가 말씀하시느니라 너는 두려워하지 말라 내가 너를 구속하였고 내가 너를 지명하여 불렀나니 너는 내 것이라.

작은 사람이 한순간을 놓치지 않았음을 볼 수 있습니다.

그는 내려와서 예수님을 그의 집으로 모셔갔습니다.

3. 예수를 영접하고 말로만이 아니라 행동으로 예수를 따르다.

삭개오는 예수님과 논쟁하지 않았습니다. 작은 사람은 예수님을 매우 기쁘게 그의 집으로 모셔갔습니다. ‘예수님, 오늘 할 일이 있습니다, 친구를 만나야 합니다’ 라고 말하지 않았습니다. 핑계대지 않았습니다. 작은 사람은 예수를 자신만의 구세주로 영접하고 그의 집으로 예수를 모셔갔으며 예수님의 명령에 순종했습니다.

누가복음 19 : 5 ~ 6, 8

예수께서 그 곳에 이르사 쳐다보시고 이르시되 삭개오야 속히 내려오라 내가 오늘 네 집에 유하여야 하겠다 하시니 급히 내려와 즐거워하며 영접하거늘 -- 삭개오가 서서 주께 여짜오되 주여 보시옵소서 내 소유의 절반을 가난한 자들에게 주겠사오며 만일 누구의 것을 속여 빼앗은 일이 있으면 네 갑절이나 갚겠나이다.

4. 삭개오는 구원받았습니다.

좀 전에 말씀드린 대로 삭개오는 구원받았습니다. 그는 예수님을 집으로 모셔갔습니다. 삭개오만

구원받은 것이 아닙니다. 그의 가족, 친구, 다른 세리 동료들도 역시 구원받았다고 확신합니다.

누가복음 19 : 9 ~ 10

예수께서 이르시되 오늘 구원이 이 집에 이르렀으니 이 사람도 아브라함의

자손임이로다 인자가 온 것은 잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하려 함이니라.

요한복음 3 : 17

하나님이 그 아들을 세상에 보내신 것은 세상을 심판하려

하심이 아니요 그로 말미암아 세상이 구원을 받게 하려 하심이라.

다른 사람에게 다가가서 그들에게 구원의 복음을 전하는 것이 우리의 의무입니다. 아멘.

5. 이 시대의 삭개오가 됩시다.

우리는 이 시대의 삭개오가 되어야 합니다. 삭개오는 예수를 간절하게 찾았습니다. 그는 부유하고 사회에서 저명한 지위나 계급을 가졌음에도 불구하고 나무에 올라가는 것을 부끄러워하지 않았습니다.

형제자매 여러분, 예수를 찾읍시다. 예수를 자기만의 구세주로 영접합시다. 우리자신을 완전히 바꿉시다.

고린도후서 5 : 17 ~ 18

그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이

되었도다 모든 것이 하나님께로서 났으며 그가 그리스도로 말미암아 우리를 자기와

화목하게 하시고 또 우리에게 화목하게 하는 직분을 주셨으니.

말뿐인 크리스천이 아니라 진정한 크리스천이 됩시다. 돕고 섬기고, 용서하고, 화목하십시오.

요한계시록 1:3

이 예언의 말씀을 읽는 자와 듣는 자와 그 가운데에 기록한 것을 지키는 자는 복이 있나니 때가 가까움이라.

크리스천이 되는 것이 다가 아닙니다. 하나님 아버지의 명령을 행하고 순종해야 합니다.

마태복음 7 : 21 ~~ 나더러 주여 주여 하는 자마다 다 천국에 들어갈 것이 아니요

다만 하늘에 계신 내 아버지의 뜻대로 행하는 자라야 들어가리라.

결론 :-

우리가 예수를 구세주로 영접할 때 우리는 완전히 변화되어야 합니다. 삭개오는 완전히 변화되었습니다. 돈을 사랑하는 사람이 돈을 주는 사람으로 되었음을 볼 수 있습니다. 예수를 따르고 생명의 면류관, 영생을 얻읍시다. 아멘.

요한계시록 2 : 4 ~ 5

그러나 너를 책망할 것이 있나니 너의 처음 사랑을 버렸느니라 그러므로 어디서 떨어졌는지를 생각하고 회개하여 처음 행위를 가지라 만일 그리하지 아니하고 회개하지 아니하면 내가 네게 가서 네 촛대를 그 자리에서 옮기리라.

요한계시록 3 : 15 ~ 16

내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 차지도 아니하고 뜨겁지도 아니하도다 네가 차든지 뜨겁든지 하기를 원하노라 네가 이같이 미지근하여 뜨겁지도 아니하고 차지도 아니하니 내 입에서 너를 토하여 버리리라.
