Quality Engineer _BP Ulsan

Opportunity to join a leading Oil & Gas company as a Quality Engineer on a contract basis based in Ulsan, Korea. Our Client has multiple projects worldwide. Key responsibilities will include: * Provide leadership on HSSE issues and in particular set by example the framework and behaviours necessary to deliver the project’s commitment to no accidents, no harm to people and no damage to the environment. * Establishes and supports proactive and collaborative working relationships within the BP Project Team and Topside / Hull contractors for all Quality Management and Quality Assurance issues. * Develop, implement and manage the key quality and integrity processes required to deliver the topsides modules and Hull in accordance with the Quality Management & Assurance Plan and related documents. * Liaise regularly with the BP Regulatory Compliance Manager / Engineers. * Ensure the effective implementation of the Quad 204 Quality Management Assurance Plan and Integrity Management Plan to site activities for the topsides modules and Hull. Provide regular reporting on status and key activities to be completed. * Assist and provide support to the Quad 204 topsides and Hull teams in the resolution of engineering and purchased equipment quality issues and queries. * In conjunction with Quality Manager assist in the review, mark up and approval of Topsides / Hull Contractors Quality Plans, MTQP’s, related procedures and worksite instructions. * Review & approve as applicable Topsides / Hull Contractors completed criticality assessments and quality programmes for procured materials. * Review & approve Topsides / Hull Contractors Material Requisitions for correct content, including SDRL, QPR’s and certification requirements. *In conjunction with the Site QC Manager ensure that Topside / Hull Contractors & its subcontractors certification/documentation is compliant with the applicable Project Specifications, Internationally recognized Codes & Standards and EU Directive(s) e.g. welder & NDE operator qualifications are 3rd party certified, ISO 9001 certification for materials for use in pressure systems is issued from an office in the EU etc. * Attend Hull Contractors PPM’s for key Quad 204 materials. * Participate in the assessment of Hull subcontractors QMS’s in conjunction with the Site QC Manager. * Establish and maintain effective interface and co-operation with Site QC Manager. * Assist in the development and implementation of the Quad 204 risk-based project assurance and audit plan for audits of Topsides / Hull Contractors & its subcontractors. * Plan, lead, review and coordinate QMS, Technical and Compliance audits of Topside / Hull Contractors and subcontractors and the Quad 204 site teams’ processes and procedures associated with the topsides modules and Hull.    * Participate in selected Topsides / Hull contractors Quality Management Systems, Technical and Compliance Audits. * Ensures that the Quad 204 Internal Audit findings and corrective or preventive actions are recorded, logged and closed out in a suitable and timely manner. * Ensures that the Topsides / Hull Contractors audit findings and corrective or preventive actions are recorded, logged and closed out in a suitable and timely manner. * Work with the other members of the Quad 204 Project Team to ensure effective interfacing between the topsides modules, Hull and other facets of the development. * Support and assure implementation of management of change including deviation and non-conformance handling processes. * Assist Topside / Hull Contractors in the completion and close out of their scope of work, including ensuring the provision of acceptable final user documentation and data. * Ensure that lessons learnt and best practices from past and existing projects and operations are integrated into the topsides modules. * Assist the other members of the Quad 204 Quality Team in other site assurance activities associated with project as directed.  Essential Criteria & qualifications: Personal commitment and proactive approach to HSSE. Formal training in Quality Assurance disciplines such as Quality Planning, Quality Management and Quality Audits. At least 15 years’ experience of working in senior quality management roles on offshore oil and gas projects is required. In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 & knowledge of ISO 29001. Knowledge of applicable European Directives especially PED and ATEX. Extensive experience of heavy fabrication/manufacture is mandatory. Working knowledge of:- * Industry standard fabrication codes/standards e.g. EEMUA 158, ASME 31.3, PCN etc.* Welding & NDE techniques applicable to the work and the ability to interpret the associated reports. * Surveying/dimensional control techniques. Coating & insulation quality controls. * Certification & inspection documents required to demonstrate compliance with the specified requirements. Good written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively within an integrated team of BP and contractor personnel.
