Let us examine our faith

There is no exact number of faiths or religions in the world, with an estimate ranging from 4,000 to over 10,000, due to the complexity of defining and counting distinct faiths. While thousands of distinct faiths exist, a few major religions Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism account for the majority of the world's religious population. Dear friends, today, I’m not going to talk about any other religion, or other any specific faith but I am going to talk about our faith. ~~ “About the faith of Christians”.

Let’s learn carefully & examine our faith. Let’s renew our faith and live by faith in Jesus.

1. Great Faith. (Centurion’s great faith)

Jesus appreciated the faith of a Centurion. His servant was laying on a death bed and there was no remedy for servant. Centurion wasn’t a Jew but he was a silent believer of Jesus. He sent a message to Jesus to heal his servant. Centurion confess that he don’t deserve to have Jesus in his house.

Matthew 8 : 8 & 10

8. The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 10. When Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

David defeated Goliath with faith. - Daniel’s faith saved from lions. - Daniel’s 3 friends saved from fire with faith.

Matthew 21 : 22 ~~ If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

2. Natural Faith.

Brothers and sisters, natural faith means. We travel many times. We travel by taxi, bus, train and an Aeroplane. We never ask to driver to show us the driving license. We don’t ask travel agency to show us the Pilot’s license or Aeroplane maintenance certificate. We just buy a ticket and travel. Trust in the Lord Jesus. He will lead us to heaven. He already prepared lots of rooms for us in heaven.

John 14 : 1 ~ 3

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare

a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back

and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.

3. Mustard seed faith.

3rdly, we can see Jesus do not expect faith like a big mountain from us, but Jesus expect faith like mustard seed. Question is do we’ve faith in Jesus or not? Cause with faith we can move mountains.

Matthew 17 : 20

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small

as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’

and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Without faith we can’t please God. Let’s please God by having faith in Him, that He exists.

Hebrews 11 : 6

which says, "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw

near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him".

4. Measure Faith.

Friends, it is impossible to measure our faith. There is no scale to measure our faith. Faith can’t be measured in Kilograms, Meters or Liters. We can show our faith in Lord Jesus through our deeds.

Romans 12 : 3

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than

you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance

with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

Read, listen and live according to the Holy Bible to be blessed and strengthen our faith.

Romans 10 : 17 (K. J. Version) ~~ So then faith comes by hearing, & hearing by the word of God.

5. Faithless Faith.

We can see Apostle Peter, Apostle Thomas & Judas Iscariot. In the beginning they showed faith but finally, they lost their faith. Peter denied 3 times. Thomas denied Jesus’s resurrection. Judas sold Jesus.

John 20 : 27

Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see My hands. Reach

out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”

We must have faith in Lord Jesus & at the end we’ll have crown of life. - (Revelation 2 : 10)

James 1 : 12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that

person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

6. Visible Faith.

Once four people brought a person to Jesus but cause of lots of people it was impossible to reach Jesus.

4 people took paralyzed person to the top of roof & lowered down before Jesus. Jesus saw the faith of those people who brought paralyzed person to Jesus. Jesus forgave the sins & heal the sick person.

Luke 5 : 20 ~~~ When Jesus saw their faith, He said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”

Matthew 9 : 21 ~ 22

She said to herself, “If I only touch His cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” He said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

Abraham left his home town. He showed his faith in God. That’s Abraham was blessed.

7. Little faith.

No 6 I want to talk about little faith. Jesus & His disciples were in the boat and suddenly there was thunder storm. Disciples did best to handle but failed. Finally, Jesus raised & rebuked wind & water.

Matthew 8 : 26

Jesus calms a storm after rebuking His disciples, saying, "O you of little faith, why are you so afraid?"

Once Jesus was walking on water & Peter ask Jesus to allow him to walk but Peter failed cause of his little faith.

Matthew 14 : 31

When Peter began to sink while walking on water, Jesus caught

him and said, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

It’s time to examine our faith. Do we’ve little faith. Let’s increase or grow up in faith, in Lord Jesus.

8. Weak faith.

Friends, lastly I want to talk about “Weak Faith” We call ourselves, believers but sometime our faith become weak. Many people claim eat this or that. Friends, accept everyone in Lord without quarreling

Romans 14 : 1 ~ 2

Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. - One person’s

faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.

Conclusion :-

Let’s examine our faith. Strengthen our faith in the Lord. By reading Bible, listening sermons & obeying the Word of God. He is Jehova Jireh, Jehovah Rapha, Johvah Nissi, Johvah Shalom, Johvah Tsidkenu.

1st. Corinthians 16 : 13 ~ Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

Mark 9 : 23 If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

우리 믿음을 점검합시다

이 세상에 있는 신앙이나 종교의 정확한 수치는 없는데 정의의 복잡성과 독특한 신앙의 집계에 기인하여 4000에서 10000 정도 범위에 있다고 평가합니다. 수천가지 독특한 신앙이 존재하는 반면에 몇몇 중요한 종교 즉 기독교, 이슬람교, 힌두교, 불교가 세계 종교 인구의 대부분을 차지합니다. 오늘, 저는 어떤 다른 종교나 특정한 신앙에 대해 말하려는 것이 아니라 우리 신앙에 대하여- 크리스천의 믿음에 대하여-말하고자 합니다. 주의 깊게 배우고 우리 믿음을 점검합시다.

우리 믿음을 다시 새롭게 하여 예수 안에서 믿음으로 삽시다.

1. 대단한 믿음 (백부장의 대단한 믿음)

예수님은 백부장의 믿음을 인정하셨습니다. 그의 종이 죽음의 병상에 누워있었고 종을 위한 치료법이 없었습니다. 백부장은 유대인이 아니었지만 예수를 드러나지 않게 믿는 자였습니다. 그는 종을 치유하고자 예수께 전갈을 보냈습니다. 백부장은 예수님을 그의 집에 모실 자격이 없다고 고백했습니다.

마태복음 8 : 8, 10

백부장이 대답하여 이르되 주여 내 집에 들어오심을 나는 감당하지 못하겠사오니 다만 말씀으로만 하옵소서 그러면 내 하인이 낫겠사옵나이다 -- 예수께서 들으시고 놀랍게 여겨 따르는 자들에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이스라엘 중 아무에게서도 이만한 믿음을 보지 못하였노라

다윗은 골리앗을 믿음으로 이겼습니다. 다니엘의 믿음이 사자로부터

구해냈습니다. 다니엘의 세 친구는 믿음으로 불로부터 살아났습니다.

마태복음 21 : 22 ~~~ 너희가 기도할 때에 무엇이든지 믿고 구하는 것은 다 받으리라 하시니라.

2. 자연스러운 믿음.

형제자매 여러분, 자연스러운 믿음이란 우리가 여러 번 여행을 할 때 택시, 버스, 기차, 비행기를 타고 여행합니다. 우리는 운전면허증을 보여 달라고 기사에게 요구하지 않습니다. 조종사 면허증이나 비행기 정비 증명서를 보여 달라고 여행사에 요구하지 않습니다. 우리는 그냥 표를 사서 여행합니다. 주 예수를 믿으십시오. 그분이 우리를 하늘나라로 인도하실 것입니다. 그분은 하늘나라에 우리를 위해 많은 처소를 이미 예비하셨습니다.

요한복음 14 : 1 ~ 3

너희는 마음에 근심하지 말라 하나님을 믿으니 또 나를 믿으라 내 아버지 집에 거할 곳이 많도다 그렇지 않으면 너희에게 일렀으리라 내가 너희를 위하여 거처를 예비하러 가노니 가서 너희를 위하여 거처를 예비하면 내가 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 나 있는 곳에 너희도 있게 하리라.

3. 겨자씨 믿음.

세 번째, 예수님은 우리에게 큰 산과 같은 믿음이 아니라 겨자씨 같은 믿음을 기대하심을 볼 수 있습니다. 문제는 우리가 예수를 믿는 믿음이 있느냐는 것입니다. 우리는 믿음으로 산을 옮길 수 있기 때문입니다.

마태복음 17 : 20

이르시되 너희 믿음이 작은 까닭이니라 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 만일 너희에게 믿음이 겨자씨 한 알 만큼만 있어도 이 산을 명하여 여기서 저기로 옮겨지라 하면 옮겨질 것이요 또 너희가 못할 것이 없으리라.

믿음이 없으면 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없습니다. 그분이 계심을 믿음으로써 하나님을 기쁘시게 합시다.

히브리서 11 : 6

믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 못하나니 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시

그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할지니라.

4. 믿음을 측정하다.

우리 믿음을 측정하는 것은 불가능합니다. 믿음을 측정할 저울이 없습니다. 믿음은 킬로그램, 미터, 리터로 측정할 수 없습니다. 우리 행위를 통하여 주님에 대한 우리의 믿음을 보일 수 있습니다.

로마서 12 : 3 ~ 내게 주신 은혜로 말미암아 너희 각 사람에게 말하노니 마땅히 생각할 그 이상의

생각을 품지 말고 오직 하나님께서 각 사람에게 나누어 주신 믿음의 분량대로 지혜롭게 생각하라.

축복 받고 믿음을 강하게 하기 위해 성경을 읽고, 듣고, 그에 따라 사십시오.

로마서 10 : 17 ~~ 그러므로 믿음은 들음에서 나며 들음은 그리스도의 말씀으로 말미암았느니라.

5. 불성실한 믿음.

사도 베드로, 사도 도마, 가룟 유다를 볼 수 있습니다. 그들은 처음에는 믿음을 보였지만 마지막에는 믿음을 잃어버렸습니다. 베드로는 세 번 부인했습니다. 도마는 예수의 부활을 부인했습니다. 유다는 예수를 팔았습니다.

요한복음 20 : 27

도마에게 이르시되 네 손가락을 이리 내밀어 내 손을 보고 네 손을 내밀어

내 옆구리에 넣어보라 그리하여 믿음 없는 자가 되지 말고 믿는 자가 되라.

우리는 주 예수에 대한 믿음을 가져야 합니다. 끝날에는 생명의 면류관을 받을 것입니다. (요한계시록 2:10)

야고보서 1 : 12

시험을 참는 자는 복이 있나니 이는 시련을 견디어 낸 자가 주께서

자기를 사랑하는 자들에게 약속하신 생명의 면류관을 얻을 것이기 때문이라.

6. 보이는 믿음.

네 사람이 한 사람을 예수께 데려왔는데 많은 사람들 때문에 예수께 다가갈 수 없었습니다. 네 사람은 마비환자를 지붕으로 데려가서 예수 앞에 달아내렸습니다. 예수님은 마비환자를 예수께 데려온 그 사람들의 믿음을 보셨습니다. 예수님은 병자의 죄를 용서하시고 치유하셨습니다.

누가복음 5 : 20

예수께서 그들의 믿음을 보시고 이르시되 이 사람아 네 죄사함을 받았느니라 하시니

마태복음 9 : 21 ~ 22

이는 제 마음에 그 겉옷만 만져도 구원을 받겠다 함이라 예수께서 돌이켜 그를 보시며

이르시되 딸아 안심하라 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였다 하시니 여자가 그 즉시 구원을 받으니라.

아브라함은 그의 고향을 떠났습니다. 그는 하나님께 믿음을 보였습니다. 그래서 아브라함은 축복받았습니다.

7. 작은 믿음.

여섯 번째, 저는 작은 믿음에 대해 말씀드리고자 합니다. 예수님과 제자들이 배에 타고 있었는데 갑자기 폭풍우가 일어났습니다. 제자들은 최선을 다했지만 할 수 없었습니다. 결국 예수님이 일어나셔서 바람과 바다를 꾸짖으셨습니다.

마태복음 8 : 26 ~~ 예수께서 이르시되 어찌하여 무서워하느냐 믿음이 작은 자들아

하시고 곧 일어나사 바람과 바다를 꾸짖으시니 아주 잔잔하게 되거늘.

한번은 예수께서 물 위로 걸어오셨고 베드로는 걷게 해달라고 예수께 청했으나 그의 작은 믿음 때문에 할 수 없었습니다.

마태복음 14 : 31

예수께서 즉시 손을 내밀어 그를 붙잡으시며 이르시되 믿음이 작은 자여 왜 의심하였느냐 하시고.

우리 믿음을 점검할 시간입니다. 작은 믿음을 가졌습니까? 주 예수에 대한 믿음을 키우고 성장시킵시다.

8. 약한 믿음

마지막으로 ‘약한 믿음’에 대해 말씀드리고자 합니다. 우리는 스스로 신자라고 하지만 때때로 우리 믿음이

약해집니다. 많은 사람들은 이것저것 먹으라고 합니다. 논쟁하지 말고 주 안에서 모든 사람을 받아들이십시오.

로마서 14 : 1 ~ 2 -- 믿음이 연약한 자를 너희가 받되 그의 의견을 비판하지 말라 어떤

사람은 모든 것을 먹을 만한 믿음이 있고 연약한 자는 채소만 먹느니라.

결론 :-

우리의 믿음을 점검합시다. 성경을 읽고 설교를 듣고 하나님 말씀에 순종함으로써 주님에 대한 믿음을 강하게 합시다. 그분은 여호와 이레, 여호와 라파, 여호와 닛시, 여호와 샬롬, 여호와 찌드케누이십니다.

고린도전서 16 : 13 ~~~~~ 깨어 믿음에 굳게 서서 남자답게 강건하라

마가복음 9 : 23

예수께서 이르시되 할 수 있거든이 무슨 말이냐 믿는 자에게는 능히 하지 못할 일이 없느니라 하시니.
