Bible Reading - Luke 12:42~51

12:42 The Lord answered, 주님께서 대답하셨다.

"Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?

그렇다면 주인이 자기 종들에게 제때에 양식을 나누어 주도록 맡긴 충실하고 지혜로운 관리자는 누구인가?

12:43 It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.

주인이 돌아왔을 때 그렇게 하고 있는 종을 발견한다면 그 종에게는 좋은 일이 될 것이다.

12:44 I tell you the truth, 내가 그 진실을 말한다.

he will put him in charge of all his possessions.

그는 그에게 자신의 모든 소유물을 관리하는 책임을 맡길 것이다.

12:45 But suppose the servant says to himself, 그러나 하인이 속으로 이렇게 말한다고 가정해 보자.

'My master is taking a long time in coming,' '주인이 오는 데 시간이 오래 걸리고 있다.'

and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk.

그러자 그는 남종들과 여종들을 때리고 먹고 마시고 술취하기 시작했다.

12:46 The master of that servant will come on a day 그 종의 주인이 어느날에 올 것이다.

when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.

그 종이 기대하지 않을 때, 깨닫지 못하고 있는 어떤 시간에 

 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.

그는 그를 토막 내어 불신자들과 함께 한 장소에 그를 할당할 것이다.

12:47 "That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows.

주인의 뜻을 알고도 준비하지 않거나 주인이 원하는 대로 하지 않는 종은 매를 많이 맞을 것이다.

12:48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. 하지만 알지 못하고 벌받을 짓을 한 사람은 적게 맞을 것입니다.

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; 

많이 받은 모든 사람으로부터 많이 요구를 받을 것이며 

and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

많은 것을 맡은 자에게는 더욱 많은 것이 요구되어질 것이다.

12:49 "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

나는 세상에 불을 가져오려고 왔는데, 그 불이 이미 붙었으면 얼마나 좋을까!

12:50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed!

그러나 내게는 세례를 받아야 할 것이 있는데, 그 세례가 이루어질 때까지 얼마나 괴로운가!

12:51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth?

너희는 내가 세상에 평화를 가져오려고 왔다고 생각하는가?

No, I tell you, but division. 아니다. 내가 너희에게 말하는데 분열이다.
