Let me count the ways in how I miss popes like St John Paul II and Benedict XVI, real popes who upheld the sanctity of the Church and the blessings of freedom and Western Civilization. These popes were power houses of intellect, setting examples for all of us Christians, Catholics and Protestants, even agnostics and open-minded people of all faiths! We have had an imbecile and Marxist pope (Francis) and a PC nonentity American pope asleep on the wheel (Leo)... God help us!

To read about the legacy of Christianity, particularly the Catholic Church to Western Civilization read chapters 14-17 in my book, Controversies in Medicine and Neuroscience: Through the Prism of History, Neurobiology, and Bioethics (2023): https://www.cambridgescholars.com/product/978-1-5275-9417-3

and the several Appendices in Contrasting Ideals and Ends in the American and French Revolutions published (2024. Both published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. https://www.cambridgescholars.com/product/978-1-0364-1560-0
