Bible Reading - Luke 14:10~19

14:10 But when you are invited, 그러나 너희가 초대받았을 때

take the lowest place, 가장 낮은 자리에 앉으라.

so that when your host comes, 그래서 너의 연회장이 올때 

he will say to you, 'Friend, move up to a better place.'

그는 너에게 "친구여, 더 나은 자리로 옮겨라."

 Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests.

그러면 너희는 모든 손님들 앞에서 존중을 받게 될 것이다. 

14:11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, 

스스로 자신을 높이는 자들은 낮아질 것이며 

and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

스스로 자신을 낮추는 자들은 높아질 것이다.

14:12 Then Jesus said to his host, 그러면 예수께서 연회장에게 말씀하셨다.

"When you give a luncheon or dinner, 네가 점심식사나 저녁을 대접할 때 

do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; 

너의 친구들이나 형제들이나 친척들이나 혹은 부자 이웃들을 초대하지 말라.

if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.

만일 네가 그들을 초대한다면 그들은 너희를 다시 초대할 것이며 그래서 다시 되갚음을 받게 될 것이다.

14:13 But when you give a banquet, 그러나 네가 잔치를 베풀었을 때,

invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,

불구자, 절름발이, 가난한 자들을 초대하라. 

14:14 and you will be blessed. 그러면 너희는 축복을 받게 될 것이다.

Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

비록 그들이 너희에게 보답할 수는 없지만, 너희들은 의인들이 부활할 때 보상을 받게 될 것이다.

14:15 When one of those at the table with him heard this, 

그와 함께 식탁에 앉아있던 자들 중에 하나가 이것을 들었을 때

he said to Jesus, 그가 예수께 말했다.

"Blessed is the man who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God."

하나님의 나라의 잔치에서 먹을 그 사람이 복이 있도다.

14:16 Jesus replied: 예수께서 대답하셨다.

"A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.

어떤 사람이 큰 잔치를 준비하면서 많은 손님들을 초대하였다.

14:17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited,

연회의 때가 되어 그는 초대받은 사람들에게 말하도록 그의 종을 보냈다. 

 'Come, for everything is now ready.' "오십시오. 모든 것이 준비되었습니다."

14:18 "But they all alike began to make excuses.

하지만 그들 모두 한결같이 변명을 늘어놓기 시작했다.

 The first said, 'I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.'

그 첫번째 손님이 '나는 방금 밭을 샀소. 그래서 나는 가서 그것을 봐야 합니다. 제발 양해해 주십시오."

14:19 "Another said, 다른 사람이 말했다.

'I have just bought five yoke of oxen, 나는 방금 암소 다섯 겨리를 샀습니다. 

and I'm on my way to try them out. 그래서 지금 직접 사용해보러 가는 중입니다.

Please excuse me.' 제발 양해해 주십시오.
