What did participants actually experience inside the ACE Policy Training workshop?

For Ryan Kang Jee Hong in Malaysia, it sparked a powerful realisation - that creative policy, when done right, can unlock opportunities for the next generation and serve as a blueprint for regional growth.

For Ahmad Qaiyum, it bridged the gap between vision and implementation: “It wasn’t just theoretical,” he shared. “The workshop delivered practical insights I could apply immediately, and reshaped how I approach creativity as a driver of development.”

And for Catherine Opondo, the training revealed how creative economies - when nurtured with care and skill - can both preserve identity and redefine the future of work.

The ASEAN–UK Hybrid Policy Training brings together policymakers and practitioners from across Southeast Asia and the UK to exchange ideas, share challenges, and build solutions. Through immersive modules, live regional sessions, and in-country workshops, participants gain the tools, connections, and cross-cultural insights needed to turn creative ambition into sustainable impact.

Part of the ASEAN–UK Advancing Creative Economy (ACE) programme, the training is co-funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and the British Council, in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat.
