<P>Namma Metro Reach 1 to start trials in NovemberAugust 11th, 2010 </P>
<P>The first Metro Rail line is steadily inching towards operationalisation. Bengalureans will begin to see trial runs of Reach 1 -the 7.2 km stretch from M.G. Road to Byappanahalli - two months from now. The first prototype of the rolling stock will begin to arrive from South Korea in October and trial oscillations, to be conducted by public sector company BEML, will begin in November. If all goes well then, by December, Namma Metro services should begin on this stretch in December, Metro rail officials told this newspaper on Tuesday. </P>
<P>“The actual rolling stock will be delivered by Hyundai Rotem in November. A total of five sets of trains would be shipped from Korea which will run on the stretch between M.G. Road and Byappanhalli,” said B.L. Yashavanth Chavan, Deputy Chief Engineer, BMRCL.</P>
