The heaving line bend is a quick and simple knot that is used to attach playing strings to the thick silk eyes of the anchorage knot. It is knot number 1462 in The Ashley Book of Knots.[1]
It is somewhat similar to Sheet bend or to Racking bend, may be used to throw a thick line over with the help of a thinner line at the end of which there may be a weight such as a Monkey fist or a Heaving line knot
