다이애나 크롤은 1964년 캐나다 브리티쉬 콜롬비아주의 나나이모에서 태어난 재즈 피아니스트이자 가수다. 재즈 장르를 통해 가장 대중적인 성공을 거둔 가수로 평가되고 있으며, 실제로 그의 음악은 그 어떤 재즈 아티스트에 비해서도 대중적인 노선을 걷고 있다고 볼 수 있다.

그것은 아마도 스탠다드 재즈 넘버뿐만 아니라 다양한 팝계의 명곡들을 자신만의 스타일로 변환하여 부른 노래들이 대중들의 폭넓은 관심을 받아왔기 때문일 것이다. 거기에 덧붙여 특유의 저음이 발산하는 매력적인 음색과 무대를 사로잡는 카리스마 역시 그녀의 인기를 뒷받침하는 음악적 요소라고 할 수 있겠다.

그 결과 발매하자마자 빌보드 재즈 앨범 차트 정상을 차지한 음반이 무려 여덟 장에 이르며 그래미상을 세 번, 주노상을 모두 여덟 번 수상하기도 했다.
