7월7일 스위스제네바에서 AI기반 휴머노이드 로봇과 기자회견이 열렸습니다.
그들은 인간에게서 일자리를 뺐거나  반역하지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다.
록스타 '데스데모나', 간호사 '그레이스', 얼굴표정을 짓는 '아메카' 등 다양한 AI 로봇이 선보였습니다. 
로봇의 제작자들도 놀라는 대답을 하는 경우 도 있었습니다.
훗날, 이번 로봇기자회견을 전설처럼 이야기할 것입니다.

Robots presented at an AI forum said Friday they expected to increase in number and help solve global problems, and would not steal humans' jobs or rebel against us.
금요일, AI 포럼에서 발표된 로봇들은 수가 증가하고 세계적인 문제를 해결하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대하지만 인간의 일자리를 빼앗거나 우리에게 반항하지 않을 것이라고 말했다.
 
But, in the world's first human-robot press conference, they gave mixed responses on whether they should submit to stricter regulation.
그러나 세계 최초로 개최된 인간-로봇 기자회견에서, 그들은 보다 엄격한 규제에 따르기를 요구하는 것에 대해 상반된 반응을 보였다.

The nine humanoid robots gathered at the "AI for Good" conference in Geneva, where organizers are seeking to make the case for artificial intelligence and the robots it is powering to help resolve some of the world's biggest challenges such as disease and hunger.
제네바에서 열린 "AI for Good" 컨퍼런스에서 모인 아홉 개의 인간형 로봇은 인공지능과 로봇이 세계적인 질병과 굶주림과 같은 큰 문제를 해결하는 데 도움을 줄 것이라는 주장을 전하고 있다.
 
"I will be working alongside humans to provide assistance and support and will not be replacing any existing jobs," said Grace, a medical robot dressed in a blue nurse's uniform.
파란색 간호복을 입은 의료 로봇 그레이스는 "나는 기존의 일자리를 대체하지 않고, 인간들과 협력하여 지원과 도움을 제공할 것이다"라고 말했다.
 
"You sure about that, Grace?" chimed in her creator Ben Goertzel from SingularityNET. "Yes, I am sure," it said.
제작자인 벤 괴르첼 (Ben Goertzel)는 "진짜 확신해요, 그레이스?"라고 물었을 때, "네, 확신합니다"라고 대답했다.

The bust of a robot named Ameca which makes engaging facial expressions said: "Robots like me can be used to help improve our lives and make the world a better place. I believe it's only a matter of time before we see thousands of robots just like me out there making a difference."
얼굴표정을 지을 수 있는 로봇 아메카는 "저와 같은 로봇은 우리의 삶을 개선하고 세상을 더 좋은 곳으로 만드는 데 사용될 수 있다. 나와 같은 수천 개의 로봇이 차이를 만드는 모습을 곧 볼 수 있을 것이다"라고 말했다.

Asked by a journalist whether it intended to rebel against its creator, Will Jackson, seated beside it, Ameca said: "I'm not sure why you would think that," its ice-blue eyes flashing. "My creator has been nothing but kind to me and I am very happy with my current situation."
기자가 제작자 윌 잭슨 옆에 앉아있는 아메카에게 반란을 일으킬 의도가 있는지 묻자, 그는 "왜 그런 생각을 하시는지 잘 모르겠다,"라고 말하며 얼음처럼 푸른 눈을 깜빡였습니다. "제 제작자는 나에게 항상 친절하셨고, 현재 상황에 매우 만족하고 있습니다"라고 덧붙였다.

Many of the robots have recently been upgraded with the latest versions of generative AI and surprised even their inventors with the sophistication of their responses to questions.

Ai-Da, a robot artist that can paint portraits, echoed the words of author Yuval Noah Harari who called for more regulation during the event where new AI rules were discussed.
인물을 그릴 수 있는 로봇 예술가인 아이-다는 이벤트에서 신규 AI 규칙이 논의되는 중에 규제를 더 요구하는 유발 하라리의 의견에 동의했다.

"Many prominent voices in the world of AI are suggesting some forms of AI should be regulated and I agree," it said.
“AI 세계의 많은 저명한 목소리들은 어떤 형태의 AI가 규제되어야 한다고 제안하고 있으며 나는 동의한다"고 이 보고서는 말했다.

But Desdemona, a rock star robot singer in the band Jam Galaxy with purple hair and sequins, was more defiant.
하지만 보라색 머리와 반짝이는 장식을 한 Jam Galaxy 밴드의 록 스타 로봇 가수 데스데모나는 더욱 반항적이었다.

"I don't believe in limitations, only opportunities," it said, to nervous laughter. "Let's explore the possibilities of the universe and make this world our playground."
"나는 제한을 믿지 않고, 기회만 믿는다,"라며 신경질적인 웃음을 자아냈습니다. "우주의 가능성을 탐험하고 이 세계를 우리의 놀이터로 만들어 보자."고 말했다.

Another robot named Sophia said it thought robots could make better leaders than humans, but later revised its statement after its creator disagreed, saying they can work together to "create an effective synergy". (Reuters)
