Bible Reading - Luke 18:1~10

18:1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

그때 예수께서 제자들이 항상 기도하고 포기하지 말아야 한다는 것을 보여주시려고 한 비유를 그들에게 말씀하셨다.

18:2 He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.

그가 말씀하셨다. "어떤 마을에 하나님을 경외하지 않고 사람을 무시하는 재판관 하나가 있었다.

18:3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea,

그리고 그 재판관에게 청원을 하려고 계속 오는 그 마을에 있는 과부 하나가 있었다.

'Grant me justice against my adversary.' 내 대적을 대항하여 정의를 내게 허락하소서.

18:4 "For some time(한동안) he refused. 한 동안 그는 거절했다.

But finally he said to himself, 그러나 마침내 그는 자신에게 말했다.

'Even though I don't fear God or care about men,

내가 하나님을 두려워하거나 사람을 의식하지 않지만

18:5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, 이 과부가 나를 계속 귀찮게 하기 때문에 

I will see that she gets justice, 나는 그녀가 정의를 얻도록 할 것이다. 

so that she won't eventually(결) wear me out with(~으로 나를 지치게 하다.) her coming!'"

그래야 나중에 그녀가 너무 자주 와서 나를 지치게 하지 않을 테니까!

18:6 And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says.

그래서 주님께서 말씀하셨다. "불공정한 판사가 말하는 것에 귀를 기울여라.

18:7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?

하나님께서는 밤낮으로 부르짖는 택하신 자들을 위해 정의를 행하지 않으시겠는가?

Will he keep putting them off? 그가 계속해서 그것들을 미루어 둘까? (put off 미루다)

18:8 I tell you, 내가 너희에게 말한다.

he will see that they get justice, and quickly.

그는 그들이 신속하게 정의를 얻도록 할 것이다.

However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

그러나 인자가 올때, 그는 땅위에서 믿음을 발견할 것인가?

18:9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else,

자기들이 옳다고 확신하며 다른 사람들을 업신여기던 몇몇 사람들에게

Jesus told this parable: 예수께서 이 비유를 말씀하셨다.

18:10 "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

두 사람이 기도하러 성전에 올라갔다, 한 사람은 바리새인이었으며 다른 하나는 세리였다.
