Scripture John 20 : 26 ~ 29 Pastor Khan Aqeel / 2026 - 04 – 12

† After a week or on the eight day †

Jesus fasted long 40 days. He did not eat or drink in those 40 days. Jesus revealed Himself on His followers for 40 days. Jesus risen from deads on the 3rd., day. Jesus started His ministry at the earthly age of 30 years and He did earthly ministry about 3.5 years. Today, Jesus is with us. He is leading, guiding and interceding for us. Jesus sent Holy Spirit on the 50th. day after His resurrection.

Matthew 18 : 20 ~~~ For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.

Romans 8 : 34

Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died - more than that,

who was raised to life - is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

Today, I want to let you know, what Jesus did after a week of His resurrection?

Was He on vacation? Was He punishing those who left Him at the cross alone? Was He

rewarding those who were with Him until He died at the cross? Was Jesus having a party with God the Father & angels? Friends, let’s see what He was doing on the eight day after His resurrection?

John 20 : 26

A week later His disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though

the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

1. Peace be with you.

Jesus commanded His disciples through women who met Him at the tomb. Jesus said to meet Him in Galilee but Thomas was unable to meet Him. Jesus again revealed Himself, while disciples were locked the rooms cause of fear of Romans government & Jewish leader. Roman government hanged their leader, surely they will hang them too and the Thomas was not believing Jesus’s resurrection.

John 20 : 26

A week later His disciples were in the house again & Thomas was with them. Though

the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

Friends, Jesus did not got angry with them but gave them peace in their fear & threat.

John 14 : 27

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as

the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Jesus is always there to give us peace in our worries, pains & sufferings. Trust in Him. He is here.

2. Jesus revealed Himself among them.

2nd. wonderful thing what we can see. Jesus revealed Himself. Jesus never punish His followers cause everyone ran while Jesus was suffering & hanging but revealed Himself & stood among them

Jesus revealed Himself among, which mean in the middle. Jesus never revealed left or right or near the wall but Jesus revealed in the middle of the disciples. Where everyone can see Him easily.

John 20 : 26

A week later His disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though

the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

Jesus revealed & stood in the middle or center that all of His followers focus Him and follow Him.

Hebrew 3 : 1

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling,

fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.

Hebrew 12 : 2

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer & perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He

endured the cross, scorning its shame, & sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3. Remove all the doubts. (Hebrews 11 : 6 Witout faith impossible to please God.)

3rd. reason of Jesus’s appearance was to remove all the doubts. There was not only Thomas who doubt of Jesus resurrection. Still today, we can see there are many who doubt about Jesus resurrection.

John 20 : 27 (Hebrews 11 : 6 Without faith it is impossible to please God)

Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see My hands. Reach

out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Jesus revealed Himself in the middle of the followers and called Thomas to clarify all the doubts. Jesus showed His hands & feet & side. Friends, today Jesus is asking you & me to stop doubting.

James 1 : 6 ~ 7

But when you ask you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double minded and unstable in all they do.

4. My Lord my God.

When Thomas saw Jesus with his own eyes. He felt very sorry about His reaction. Thomas gave a wonderful statement. No one disciple gave that kind of statement ever before. Thomas said in

John 20 : 28 ~~~~ Thomas said to Him, “My Lord and My God!”

Dear friends, let’s make Thomas confession our confession. Jesus is our Lord and God. Amen.

Matthew 16 : 16 ~~~~~ Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

5. We can have more blessings.

Finally friends, you and I. We can have more and more blessings. The secret of blessings and eternal life is in believing Jesus as Saviour & Son of living God. Today let’s remove all the doubts.

John 20 : 29

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed;

blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Brothers and sisters, we are always seeking the physical blessings. The best blessing is to believe in Jesus as Saviour & a Son of living God. We’ve to believe that Jesus suffered, died on the cross and on the third day He risen from deads to give us new life. I want to repeat again John 20 : 29.

John 20 : 29

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed;

blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Revelation 1 : 3

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are

those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Lesson for you and me :-

Today we learned five different things through the scripture. That’s why Jesus revealed Himself for 40 days to different. Cause Jesus want to give peace to His followers & remove all the doubts of His resurrection. Romans Government & Jewish leaders claimed that disciples stolen the body.

So Jesus revealed Himself for 40 days, different times to remove the doubts of different people.

1st. Corinthians 15 : 6 ~ 7

After that, He appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

Question for you and me

① Why, Jesus revealed Himself ? ~~~~~~~~ ② What, was Jesus re-action after His resurrection?

③ Was, Jesus scolded His followers or He gave peace to them?

④ What was Thomas confession and what should be our confession?

예수님은 40일 동안 금식하셨습니다. 40일 동안 먹지도 마시지도 않으셨습니다. 예수님은 40일 동안 제자들에게 나타내셨습니다. 3일 만에 죽음에서 살아나셨습니다. 예수님은 30세에 지상에서 사역을 시작하셨고 3년 반 정도 사역을 하셨습니다. 오늘 예수님은 우리와 함께 계십니다. 그분은 인도하시고 안내하시고 우리를 위해 중보하십니다. 예수님은 부활 후 50일째에 성령을 보내주셨습니다.

마태복음 18 : 20 ~~~~~ 두 세 사람이 내 이름으로 모인 곳에는 나도 그들 중에 있느니라.

로마서 8 : 34

누가 정죄하리요 죽으실 뿐 아니라 다시 살아나신 이는 그리스도 예수시니

그는 하나님 우편에 계신 자요 우리를 위하여 간구하시는 자시니라.

오늘, 저는 예수께서 부활하신지 한 주후에 무엇을 하셨는지 알려드리고자 합니다. 휴가중이셨을까요? 그분을 십자가에 혼자 남겨둔 자들을 벌하고 계셨을까요? 그분이 십자가에서 죽을 때까지 함께 했던

자들에게 보상하고 계셨을까요? 하나님 아버지와 천사들과 함께 잔치중이셨을까요?

그분께서 부활 후 8일째에 무엇을 하셨는지 알아봅시다.

요한복음 20 : 26

여드레를 지나서 제자들이 다시 집안 에 있을 때에 도마도 함게 있고 문들이

당혔는데 예수께서 오사 가운데 서서 가라사대 너희에게 평강이 있을지어다 하시고.

1. 너희에게 평강이 있을지어다.

예수님은 무덤에서 만난 여인들을 통해 제자들에게 명령하셨습니다. 그분은 갈릴리에서 만날 것을 말씀하셨으나 도마는 그분을 만날 수 없었습니다. 예수님은 다시 나타나셨지만 반면에 제자들은 로마 정부와 유대인 지도자들이 두려워서 문을 잠그고 방에 있었습니다. 로마 정부가 그들의 지도자를 매달았기 때문에 틀림없이 그들도 매달을 것이고 도마는 예수의 부활을 믿지 않았습니다.

당혔는데 예수께서 오사 가운데 서서 가라사대 너희에게 평강이 있을지어다 하시고.

예수님은 그들에게 화내지 않으시고 두려움과 공포 가운데 있는 그들에게 평안을 주셨습니다.

요한복음 14 : 27

평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라 내가 너희에게 주는

것은 세상이 주는 것 같지 아니하니라 너희는 마음에 근심도 말고 두려워하지도 말라.

우리가 근심, 고통, 어려움 중에 있을 때 예수님은 평안을 주시려고 항상 거기에 계십니다.

그분을 믿으십시오. 그분이 여기에 계십니다.

2. 예수께서 그들 가운데 나타내셨습니다.

우리가 알 수 있는 두 번째 대단한 일은 예수께서 나타나셨다는 것입니다. 예수께서 고통당하고 매달린 동안 달아났던 제자들을 벌하지 않으시고 나타나셔서 그들 가운데 서셨습니다. 그들 가운데 나타나셨다는 것은 중앙에 계셨음을 의미합니다. 왼쪽이나 오른 쪽, 벽 가까이가 아니라 모두 그분을 쉽게 볼 수 있는 제자들의 중앙에 나타나셨습니다.

예수님은 나타나셔서 모든 제자들이 그분께 집중하고 따를 수 있도록 중앙에 서셨습니다.

히브리서 3 : 1

그러므로 함께 하늘의 부르심을 입은 거룩한 형제들아 우리의

믿는 도리의 사도시며 대제사장이신 예수를 깊이 생각하라.

히브리서 12 : 2

믿음의 주요 또 온전케 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자 저는 그 앞에 있는 즐거움을 위하여

십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라.

3. 모든 의심을 없애다. (히브리서 11 : 6 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 해 드릴 수 없습니다.)

예수가 나타나신 세 번째 이유는 모든 의심을 없애는 것입니다. 예수의 부활을 의심했던 도마뿐 아니라 여전히 오늘도 예수의 부활을 의심하는 사람들을 많이 볼 수 있습니다.

요한복음 20 : 27

도마에게 이르시되 네 손가락을 이리 내밀어 내 손을 보고 네 손을 내밀어

내 옆구리에 넣어보라 그리하고 믿음 없는 자가 되지 말고 믿는 자가 되라.

예수님은 제자들의 중앙에 나타나셔서 모든 의심을 분명하게 하기 위해 도마를 부르셨습니다. 예수님은 손과 발, 옆구리를 보이셨습니다. 오늘, 예수께서 의심하지 말라고 여러분과 저에게 요청하십니다.

야고보서 1 : 6 ~ 8

오직 믿음으로 구하고 조금도 의심하지 말라 의심하는 자는 마치 바람에 밀려 요동하는 바다 물결같으니 이런 사람은 무엇이든지 주께 얻기를 생각하지 말라 두 마음을 품어 모든 일에 정함이 없는 자로다.

4. 나의 주, 나의 하나님.

도마가 예수를 그의 눈으로 보았을 때 그분의 반응에 대해 매우 죄송함을 느꼈습니다. 도마는 멋진 말을 했습니다. 이전에 그런 말을 했던 제자는 아무도 없었습니다. 도마가 말했습니다.

요한복음 20 : 28

도마가 대답하여 가로되 나의 주시며 나의 하나님이시니이다.

도마의 고백을 우리의 고백으로 만듭시다. 예수님은 우리의 주시며 하나님이십니다. 아멘.

마태복음 16 : 16

시몬 베드로가 대답하여 가로되 주는 그리스도시오 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다.

5. 우리는 더 큰 축복을 받을 수 있습니다.

마지막으로, 여러분과 저는 더 큰 축복을 받을 수 있습니다. 축복과 영생의 비밀은 예수를 구세주와 살아계신 하나님의 아들로 믿는 것입니다. 오늘, 의심을 모두 없앱시다.

요한복음 20 : 29

예수께서 가라사대 너는 나를 본고로 믿느냐 보지 못하고 믿는 자들은 복되도다 하시니라.

우리는 언제나 물질적인 축복을 구합니다. 최고의 축복은 예수를 구세주와 살아계신 하나님의 아들로 믿는 것입니다. 우리에게 새 생명을 주시려고 예수가 고통당하시고 십자가에서 죽으시고 삼일 만에 죽음에서 살아나셨음을 믿어야 합니다. 요한복음 20장 29절을 다시 반복하고자 합니다.

요한복음 20 : 29

예수께서 가라사대 너는 나를 본고로 믿느냐 보지 못하고 믿는 자들은 복되도다 하시니라.

요한계시록 1 : 3

이 예언의 말씀을 읽는 자와 듣는 자들과 그 가운데 기록한 것을 지키는 자들이 복이 있나니 때가 가까움이라.

여러분과 저를 위한 교훈 :-

오늘 우리는 본문 말씀을 통해 다섯 가지를 배웠습니다. 예수님은 제자들에게 평안을 주시고 부활의 의심을 모두 없애고자 40일 동안 각 사람에게 나타내셨습니다. 로마 정부와 유대인 지도자들은 제자들이 시신을 훔쳐갔다고 했습니다.

그래서 예수님은 각 사람의 의심을 없애려고 40일 동안 다른 시간에 나타내셨습니다.

고린도전서 15 : 6 ~ 8

그 후에 오백여 형제에게 일시에 보이셨나니 그 중에 지금까지 태반이나 살아 있고 어떤 이는

잠들었으며 그 후에 야고보에게 보이셨으며 그 후에 모든 사도에게와 맨 나중에

만삭되지 못하여 난 자 같은 내게도 보이셨느니라.

여러분과 저에게 하는 질문

① 왜 예수님은 나타내셨습니까?

② 부활 후 예수님의 반응은 어떻습니까?

③ 예수님은 제자들을 꾸짖으셨습니까? 평안을 주셨습니까?

④ 도마의 고백은 무엇이며 우리의 고백은 무엇이어야 합니까?
